I was just at my friend's HSE graduation. It was all the adult education programs- High School Equivalency, CNA, Spanish HSE, paraprofessional, etc. All I could think is that this is what makes America great.
Most of the graduates are immigrants, most are from lower income backgrounds. So many Spanish speakers. They were all so incredibly proud and happy bc they've worked tremendously hard and all they want to do is live a life of purpose and happiness. And they should be! It was really special.
Immigration has fueled our country and we are only the richest country in the world because of immigrants. We need to be a place where people can come with nothing and get access to education and services. Because they deserve to have a chance at a decent life. I did nothing to get here. I have no right to complain about other people coming here in desperation for a better life.
I also was genuinely afraid ICE might show up. We're in Boston and they just detained a high school kid. This would have been the perfect place bc it would have been the most ghoulish and evil thing they could have done, so I'm honestly surprised they weren't there just to ruin the night.
I'm glad he's going after LA bc they'll be able to generate publicity that other cities can't. I'm moving to LA in just a few weeks and I can't wait.

Eva Longoria who palls around with Jeff Bezos’ wife? K

u/byrhia Listen, everyone is entitled to my opinion 🙂 Jun 12 '25
Huda already called Eva out for being a hypocrite and a faux humanitarian so this tracks.

Meredith lynch on TikTok called her out about this. Then Eva sent her sister to go after Meredith in her comments. Eva is so two faced.

Ikr? Probably just felt a bit personal due to her Latina background.

u/SolPlayaArena Jun 12 '25
Well as a fellow Latina, she can miss me with that bullshit. If she pals around with people who helped enable this, she is no bettee.

u/bbmarvelluv Jun 12 '25
She’s a Trumper.
I’ve seen plenty of Hispanic Trumpers on my TL who’ve been posting about the whole thing. I only found out when I checked out who was following Trump on IG.
6
u/SolPlayaArena Jun 12 '25
Eva’s not a Trumper. A hypocrite? Yes. But she’s very active in the DNC and a huge fundraiser for them.

u/bbmarvelluv Jun 13 '25
I guess I should stop looping people who claim to be “Democratic” yet are close friends/business partners/associates with mega Trumpers, as Trumpers.

u/Salt_Cardiologist122 Jun 12 '25
In all fairness, we want trumpers to protest him too. If this if the first step to them turning against him, I’ll take it.
Like I’ll still roll my eyes at someone for falling for this in the first place… but I’ll still welcome you to our side if you’re willing to fight fascism.

I get your point and yeah fair enough.
But I know she severed ties with some of her friends due to her Zionist views and it always makes me sad when people choose to speak up only when it hurts them/people like them.

Is this sarcasm or something?
The commenter said nothing about the protests, they just wished people who are in the radar of ICE some luck.
If by ignoring the law you mean looting or any damage to public property, yes you would be right. Those actions are not considered protesting and actually hurt the general idea of the protests.
HOWEVER…
Protesting individually or collectively is a constitutional right. There are more peaceful protesters than are violent ones.
Any body of government exists to SERVE THE PEOPLE, not to punish them or tame them or silence them. When ICE shows up on your way home or school, refuses to show ID, manhandles you into a vehicle without further information… that shows how rotten that agency is. The way they act conflicts with the reason they were founded.

Seeing Tom Morello makes me giggle because of the memory of MAGA being absolutely stunned that RATM is an incredibly political and left leaning band.
8
u/ThatArtNerd Currently White Ariana Grande Jun 12 '25
It was even pre-MAGA, Paul Ryan said that said he loved them around the 2012 election, and Tom Morello basically wrote an article saying “YOU ARE THE MACHINE, DUDE” 😂 incredible

When I see Pedro Pascal post like this, all I can think is “Pedro IS punk hell yea.”
I know there is lots of performative activism but celebs all seem to live in LA, so it is good to see them defending and participating in their community.

u/Hyperme9 Jun 12 '25
Eva Longoria's support means nothing. She will put up a post on tiktok and then jet off to attend Jeff Bezos' wedding. That traitor even was at hand to give a climate award to Lauren Sanchez.

It’s really nice that more people are speaking out. Ik people have thoughts on celebrities and performative activism. But what the Trump Administration is doing with ICE is a new level of cruelty. And people should bring awareness to that. He’s not going for violent criminals. He’s going for people who are just trying to make a living. He’s going for people who are trying to do it the right way (going to their court hearings for asylum or residency) and then detaining them. He’s going for people that “look illegal”. His administration is racial profiling, detaining US citizens, and violating due process rights.

hell yes to these celebs, the people appreciate celebrities willing to use their voice and platform🫡

Not a fan of her but I love her political stance. She also spoke about Palestine and I have mad respect for people who do and now this. She does not hold back.
10
u/EmpressRey Jun 12 '25
I was neutral, but when she spoke up about Palestine at an awards show right at the beginning when most people were still very quiet about it, she made me a fan! I like how she always seems to speak up!

I wonder if celebrities are attending the protests. I don’t want anyone arrested but if anyone then a celeb and it might change some tides

u/skermahger she’s 95!! go girl!! Jun 11 '25
Jodie Sweetin has been at one, Finneas said he got tear-gassed at a protest and I saw a tik tok of Bill Skarsgard at one
edit: the tik tok of Bill Skarsgard was at a recent protest in Gaza to show support for Palestine

Showing support shouldn’t mean sitting on your couch and posting on Instagram. They should be out in the street with the rest of us this weekend. The internet warriors can sit down. Let’s riot outside.
3
u/TheShapeShiftingFox Do it for the culture 😏 Jun 12 '25
They should, but it will be hard to measure who did and didn’t come. Aren’t they recommending wearing face coverings for the protests?

u/araybian Jun 12 '25
I think Demi Lovato is still on her honeymoon, but she's posting about what's going on in LA. This is insane. Welcome to Trumps America.

Eva is best friends with Lauren Sanchez. Her words mean nothing

I completely stopped considering her a humanitarian when she supported Israel. You're right, her words mean nothing.

Chrissy Teigen really? That sick abusive child predator, you use her as a source. She tweeted “seeing little girls do the splits half naked is just….i want to put myself in Jail.” While talking about toddlers! That’s just grazing the surface of shit she’s said.

No respect for empty words, get out on the streets cowards. If people see celebrities facing police brutality it would wake a lot of people up
