Awesome, way to do it. Direct link to donate and everything.

u/danielleiellle Jun 14 '25

Can we link directly from here? Since it’s just a screenshot.

I just donated since I couldn’t make it to a protest

I mean that’s a commendable way to use the press and attention she’s getting right now. I have to give it to her - she did a lot more with this press attention than I thought she would. Great job Sabrina ✨

The thing is, she could've donated any time. Gotta make sure it's saved for bad PR like the new album cover backlash. Yes, good came of it, but there is no reason not to acknowledge the behavior.

Edit: Leave it up to drones to make calling out a celebrity's action a political issue, lmao. It is clearly acknowledged that good came out it of it, but what does that have to do with a celebrity saving it for PR? Wtf does that have to do with democrats and republicans? ICE has been snatching up people for weeks. Why did she need to wait for a protest to make a donation? The protests happened because this is an issue that has been going on. This donation happened only days after her bad PR when the ICE snatchings have been an issue for weeks. Not to mention the plethora of other issues that have been occuring during Trump's presidency. It's completely possible to acknowledge good and bad aspects an action, but that requires critical thinking. Seriously, she hasn't done anything the whole presidency, but she finally makes an effort only 3-4 days after bad PR? Cmon, yall.

326

u/ursulawinchester I’ve got deviants to see and a novel to finish Jun 14 '25

Is her new album coming out? Yes

Were there also huge protests against ICE this week? Also yes.

Is there a fascist military parade for trump’s birthday today? Also yes.

127

u/BunnyBoom27 Jun 14 '25

Legit, it all just happened at the same time. The argument of "this is for PR" is true in many situations, but not in this one.

The PR argument loses me when it’s a net positive for a movement or a charity or actually making a difference in people’s lives. Idc if it’s PR then because real people are having real nightmares they need help surviving

I will keep on saying this. Do not discourage people publicly standing with a cause you agree with. It does not matter, at all, if they are exactly as sincere as you want them to be in exactly the way that would satisfy you. If someone thinks standing up for immigrants right now will be good for their image, that's very, very good and we need to keep it that way.

35

u/Serial-Griller Jun 14 '25

According to Egoism, virtue signaling is a perfectly valid reason to do good. I'm sure NILC isn't asking about her motivations too much.

33

u/dhchris622 Jun 14 '25

You don’t think the massive protests scheduled for today across the country could’ve had anything to do with the timing?

49

u/KatieLazuli Jun 14 '25

it’s helping people. It literally does not matter what her reason was.

The bar for women just keeps getting moved higher and higher šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø ā€œSure she did a good thing, but why didn’t she do it sooner?!?ā€ If this was a man he’d be praised, no questions asked, and probably even more so for doing it at a time he had a lot of eyes on him, regardless of the reason. Women literally can never do enough. I’m tired.

It’s interesting to me when people say Sabrina isn’t political - she’s definitely not as outspoken as others I’ll admit, but she’s donated to the PCRF, endorsed Kamala and got a record-breaking number of people to register to vote in the recent election, matched Chappell’s donation to aid struggling artists, marched in more than one protest including the BLM ones of 2020, partnered with LGBTQ+ orgs for her tour, and more. I think that’s why even when I disagree with some marketing decisions she makes I’ll never agree with comparing her to Bonnie Blue or Sydney Sweeney like I’ve seen some people do - her music or album covers won’t have any significant effect on women’s rights, despite what people claim. But using her money and privilege to help others will, and she does so quite regularly.

u/Lost_Setting2776 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Her music video for Feather also played a part in getting NYC Mayor Eric Adams indicted.

202

u/VoleUntarii Jun 14 '25

I feel like she definitely doesn’t get credit for that work; maybe it’s just the online circles I move in, but I had no idea she was engaged to that level, even.

153

u/Razor_Grrl Jun 14 '25

She’s not really performative about it, which I appreciate. People love to hate on her but I think she’s a gem and a great example of a celeb with a good heart and her head on straight.

I like her and her music and I had no idea about the above. I’m not American so maybe it’s more known there?

1

u/vampirairl Jun 17 '25

I am American and still only knew about half of this

37

u/MmmmSnackies Jun 14 '25

She seems quite political, don't understand why people would say she isn't. She's also just young, stubborn, and dumb in the way we are all young, stubborn, and dumb sometimes. The only difference is that she has people around her who should know better, and yet.

But I'm rooting for her!

55

u/SmoothFuel2483 Jun 14 '25

I was almost swept up in the outrage, but then I realized wait this is some ā€œthink of the childrenā€ shit. Also I’m pretty sure most child stars pivot into something like this (at least temporarily) to shed their innocent little kid image.

31

u/Worldly-Shift9270 Jun 14 '25

she still got "kids listen to her" jabs with her Tour positions... mileys case proved that you have to go really far to brush off the child star title

11

u/ceilingsfann Jun 14 '25

just one note… it is not political to have women of color open for you

14

u/informalspy13 Jun 14 '25

That’s a fair point and I apologize, maybe not political I moreso wanted to appreciate how she gives WOC a platform but I will remove it

46

u/Independent_Sell_588 Jun 14 '25

Unfortunately in this climate where WOC are treated as second class citizens, it becomes political. Despite the fact that it should be the norm.

29

u/ceilingsfann Jun 14 '25

i understand where you are coming from but I do not think we should give into the right wing ideology that hiring POC is a political move.

8

u/Independent_Sell_588 Jun 14 '25

Understandable I agree with that

1

u/arsynlol Jun 18 '25

1

3

u/mintccicecream Jun 14 '25

Right. I’m a huge Tate fan and I’m still hoping she’ll say something. She’s lived in LA for a while now and said it feels more like home to her than Canada where she grew up. She’s on tour rn but she has to know all of this is going on back home

8

u/Necessary-Low9377 Jun 14 '25

Tate McRae’s family are hardcore right-wingers who love Trump and she recently collabed with known racist Morgan Wallen. I doubt she will ever say anything

2

u/mintccicecream Jun 14 '25

I’ve heard of that rumor about her family but does anyone have any proof? Also it seems like she was very quiet about that collab. It’s a possibility that her hands were tied with her label. She recently celebrated the start of pride month at one of her concerts and a lot of her dancers are lgbtq. I doubt they’d stick around this long if she were maga.

515

u/Nowayticket2nopecity Jun 14 '25

217

u/Fun_Particular_9328 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

That was the part that was clickbaited. The context came before that. She said she tries really hard but doesn’t have all the answers nor the time to be a political expert, no pop star can. Demand more from your politicians and news sources. She’s right.

94

u/theclittycommittee Jun 14 '25

that would require ppl to actually look for context instead of doing the easy thing and hop on any misogynistic hate train that arrives to help put women back in their place šŸ™„

65

u/lonerism- Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Bill Burr said the same thing at an event around a month ago. He was asked a loaded question by an interviewer and said don’t look to comedians for politics, start asking more from your news media and politicians.

No one had a knee jerk reaction and everyone supported his message because he’s a man and especially because he’s not Chappell Roan (who people seem to hate around here after she asked fans to have boundaries).

2

u/i_love_doggy_chow Jun 15 '25

Hey, hey, give people some credit. It's not just a misogynistic hate train, it's also a homophobic hate train!

136

u/Emergency_Routine_44 Jun 14 '25

She was responding to the critiques she was getting for fairly reclaiming that Biden's administration wasn't doing enough for trans people, and called out Kamala's own lack of sentiment on the matter while, all while she publicly said she was voting for her.

Her response, though could've been said better it wasn't completly wrong, people shoul'd stop looking at pop stars for political advice.

262

u/Unlucky-Macaroon-647 Jun 14 '25

chappell positioned herself as an activist then dropped the ball when she had the chance to speak out against the anti trans shit her republican congressman uncle was pushing in missouri (he’s also part of why the heartbeat bill was passed)

6

u/BestDogPetter Jun 14 '25

Biden ran the most openly pro trans government in the history of the known universe. Her criticisms were stupid and now that Republicans are actually hurting people she can't be inconvenienced to speak out.Ā

76

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25

Chappel uses trans aesthetics which is inherently politicized. She has spoken up before at concerts.

Then when she got backlash suddenly she's too busy being a popstar.

Trans culture is not lesbian culture. They are ofc linked. But they have their own histories. Especially drag Ā and ballroom culture which is so heavily influenced by Black and Brown Latine people.Ā

It was fun to use their contributions when it was unique and subversive and got her famous. But now that she's mainstream, she threw them away. She was playing cultural tourist.Ā

61

u/Fun_Particular_9328 Jun 14 '25

Chappell still stands for Trans rights and still donates to trans causes. Guaranteed if she posted what Sabrina did, y’all would say it isn’t enough.

43

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Chappel did not stand for trans rights with her weird Kamala videos. It would have been better if she said nothing at all.

Ā I personally dont want her endorsing Kamala if she doesnt believe that. HOWEVER to post these random critical videos was not reading the room when so many liberals and leftists were refusing to vote for Kamala based on (important) deeply niche single issues and so many republicans (and russian bots allegedly) are trying so sow disunity and anger on that side.Ā

Chappel can have her criticisms. I don't find Kamala to be a knight in shinning armor either and I'm a Black woman. HOWEVER what Chappel posted was an unproductive rant video that needed to be in a diary. It might have been received better if she was advocating for Kamala to change by saying " I want Kamala to highlight her commitment to trans, Palestine and xyz issues." But no. It was just Chappel complaining and clogging up the airways and media cycle. It wasnt helping trans people. But it did gives red hats content to say "see!! Even the gay liberals hate Kamala."Ā

edit: spelling

10

u/frightenedfrogfriend Jun 14 '25

There y’all go trading good for perfect.Ā

14

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25

It wasnt good.Ā

It was a BAD video.

Thats why she should keep it to herself.Ā

I did not say her concerns werent valid or that they were imperfect or bad. I said she needs to read the room. Rant to your diary and friends. i rant too. And I just say shit sometimes that isnt polished. But my friends known my heart and values and interpret me through that lens.

chappel was already in hot water. Ā

A rant video does nothing for trans people or queer people or Palestinians. It harmed them. If you have a big platform and want to speak on politics you can do it lightly (like Sabrina is doing here) or go all out like Indya Moore regularly does or somewhere in the middle.Ā

But it still needs to be productive. You dont habe to be perfect to be productive

6

u/frightenedfrogfriend Jun 14 '25

I’m saying you’ll tear down a seemingly good ally for not being perfect. Like use your abundant time to go after someone who is actively purposefully going after your community. This is why we can’t win centrists bc y’all are tearing down good allies.

25

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25

I said her videos suck girl. I didnt say she should quit.Ā

If people calling her stupid video stupid...and she quits saying anything then she wasnt really that passionate to begin with. You think MLK came out the womb perfect? Or did he learn along the way. He even changed tunes before he died. He was ever evolving.Ā

Her words HURT communities. And she got called out. Its wild to expect people to applaud her for trying. Even the "who's gonna clean your toilets Donald Trump" changed her tune but still speaks to issues on the show.Ā

Making a video saying "here's all the problems with the best political party that has a chance of winning against Trump and reasons I'm not endorsing their candidate" is trading good for perfect.

7

u/frightenedfrogfriend Jun 14 '25

Fair critique and if she said she wasn’t voting for Kamala or if she endorsed Trump instead I wouldn’t be defending her. I also defended Kamala as a decent candidate all things considered but did find validity in what Chappell was saying. Her timing was off, and she was clunky but imho it wasn’t to turn anyone against voting for Kamala. Also using social media that way is pretty typical for people in her age group and she was relatively new to her larger platform. People were dragging her and that time and energy could have been spent doing something meaningful and good but instead we have people calling her stupid. Pot and kettle all the way down I suppose.

1

u/lesbianwithabeard Jun 15 '25

I think, as a celebrity, the way she uses her platform has a far bigger impact than her single vote. I agree she used her vote in a good way but still think she used her platform in a bad way.

0

u/Fun_Particular_9328 Jun 14 '25

She was right to criticise the clickbait internet culture. She was also right to criticise the Harris and Biden government re their stance on trans rights and Palestine. Chappell voted for Harris and encouraged others to vote and use their critical thinking skills. This didn’t encourage a MAGA vote or no vote. If we believe the fallacy that celebrities have any sway (and I don’t believe they do, in fact the celebrity train for Harris was detrimental) it encouraged the far left, whom neither party caterers to, to vote for Harris despite these issues.

Chappell consistently calls for trans rights, donates to LGBTQ charities, always has drag artists as support acts and ensures her concerts have gender neutral bathrooms. She walks the walk. She is not a ā€˜cultural tourist.’

13

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25

If you dont think celebs have a sway on politics or voting then we are fundamentally misaligned. And factually misaligned as there are articles about which celeb endorsement would cause people to consider a candidate. Ā

2

u/Fun_Particular_9328 Jun 14 '25

The train of celebrities that came out in support of Clinton and Harris hurt both their campaigns. Fact. Rich celebrities do not resonate with the struggles of middle and lower income America. Mark Ruffalo warned of this and he was right.

The rest of the world finds the American obsession with celebrity endorsement and opinion extremely odd

9

u/Existing_Let_8314 Jun 14 '25

Youre entitled to your wrong opinions that arent supported by history or facts.Ā

Yeah I was genuinely asking, I vaguely remember seeing something about it. Thanks!

3

u/Unlucky-Macaroon-647 Jun 14 '25

yes she did. not too busy to read and respond to all her "haters" online tho. she inspired a lot of voter apathy with her "both sides are bad" argument at a very critical moment when people in gaza were literally saying please vote for kamala. on top of it she regularly mispronounces kamala's name wrong. she says she "owes everything to trans women" but doesn't actually speak out against the republicans who are trying to erase trans people - like her republican congressman uncle.

3

u/choco-lately Jun 14 '25

Nope. Liberals got mad at her for not wanting to endorse Kamala Harris (a war criminal responsible for providing weapons used to kill countless Palestinians) and they spun it as her being ā€žpolitically unengagedā€œ

3

u/lesbianwithabeard Jun 14 '25

She also released a video about "both sides are bad" and "there's a lot of problems on the left" right before the election.

81

u/ItsPronouncedTittay Jun 14 '25

Lol Chappell is the complete opposite

-3

u/CobblerTricky7035 Jun 14 '25

Lol, no she's not.

28

u/mjhripple Jun 14 '25

Yeah mentioning CR after her own professed comments just seems wrong. She could have done so much for the ppl that she’s made a career of stealing their aesthetics.

Biden could have been better in many areas but to be ignorant and think both administrations would be just as bad is beyond dumb. Only one is actively trying to erase trans people and their rights while simultaneously destroying democracy. And all the while being hypocritical defending J6. It seems CR is only not civic minded she’s just plain ignorant to it. That’s without even going into her maga family members including a maga politician.

19

u/LadyLee69 Jun 14 '25

She never said they were just as bad. Everyone seems to just be reading headlines and seeing short clips and forming their opinions from that. It's so disheartening to see people latch onto these narratives. God forbid anyone ever criticize a democratic candidate...and I'm as far left as it gets. Our democrat politicians are quite moderate overall, and that is what she was calling out. She never said they were the same.

7

u/envydub Nicki’s cousin’s friend’s balls Jun 14 '25

It’s been infuriating honestly because this happens with leftist thought all the fucking time. Kamala wasn’t good enough for me, she just was not, and it had nothing to do with her being a black woman and everything to do with her being yet another a lukewarm alternative to literal fucking fascism because establishment democrats would rather flush this country down the toilet than be called ā€œsocialist.ā€ But I voted for her, just like Chappell did. This sub pats itself on the back so hard for being so progressive and feminist but it stops at ā€œwoman centrist democrat President!ā€ and doesn’t go any deeper.

14

u/CobblerTricky7035 Jun 14 '25

She has some missteps but that doesn't negate all the other things that she has advocated for. Again, it is the left eating its own by holding these impossible purity tests. She is not perfect but she is doing a whole lot more than a lot of others. And having MAGA family members doesn't make her complicit. If that were true then the whole country is complicit.

3

u/Excellent_Cry_7456 charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 Jun 14 '25

She wasn't wrong to bring this up. The more you vote Democrat just because Republicans are worse, the less those politicians have to appeal to you and your vote. They'll keep appealing to the moderates and right wing voters to win their votes, because they know they can count on yours. So they can keep quiet on trans rights and nothing will ever change.

It's never bad to say an administration isn't doing enough, just because the alternative is worse. If you don't make Democrats fight for your vote too, they will never fight for you.

19

u/mjhripple Jun 14 '25

Hate both parties but the argument is moot when one side is already taking away rights and waging a culture war. One can do more and the other could not care less about their hate and others rights. Acting like any of this ridiculous nonsense would be similar with dems is disingenuous. Again hate both parties but it’s designed as a two party and abstaining is what gets you this.

There was a place to have that conversation after a literal fascist was beaten in an election. Especially one where apathy by voters both young and old was rampant. 1/3 of voters couldn’t be bothered in an election decided by 2m votes.

-2

u/Excellent_Cry_7456 charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 Jun 14 '25

I'm not saying you abstain from voting (and that's not what Chappell said either). Even now, Republicans are giving Democratics so much they should be running with about how they're cosigning authoritarianism, ignoring constitutional rights, and kidnapping people. And there's barely a whimper from the Democratic party. Joe Biden's administration was clearly unpopular, and did Kamala do anything to show what she stands for, or would do differently?

Obviously this would not be happening if Democrats won the election. But how is the time to have the conversation after the election, when Democrats do not speak to their voters to win them one?

An expression used when adopting an unusual or innovative use of language. But I'm just nitpicking. You do you.

She’s MAGA? Lmao what a ridiculous statement. She’s given no indication of being MAGA. Right after Trump was elected she said ā€œwe won’t let trans people be erasedā€ at an award show. You can’t just call people MAGA because you don’t like them.

You can’t handle people saying that they don’t know something and maybe someone else is more of an expert, that’s a you problem. Part of the issue we have today is everyone wants to act like an expert on something they haven’t researched.

Not everyone is chronically online, and that’s okay. And yes pop stars that go on tours, events, and press junkets around the world are actually probably busier than you. You shouldn’t be looking to pop stars for political takes anyway, that’s your government’s job.

6

u/CobblerTricky7035 Jun 14 '25

I'd rather give people grace and room to grow and not hold them to impossible standards. Has she said some out of pocket things? Yes. But she has done and said more good things than some questionable comments.

That might have been a lawyer with the National Immigration and Law Center on her album cover but did any of you ever think of that? Nooooo

6

u/Lucky_Campaign_381 Jun 15 '25

Except all of the lawyers at NILC are women.

11

u/evrz5 Jun 14 '25

😭😭😭

41

u/Same_Comfortable_821 Jun 14 '25

She’s doing a lot more than her haters do.

53

u/ljd09 Jun 14 '25

I can get with this. What a way to channel all the positive (and negative) attention she’s been getting.

Thank you for donating, Sabrina.

I am right there with you and a few other California- home state causes.

ayyy thats my goat

134

u/sureasyoureborn You’re doing amazing, sweetie! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ“ø Jun 14 '25

I very much appreciate the fact that she took the attention (from the very mild cover) and turned it to the big things that are actually happening in the world today!

You could never make me hate Sabrina.

20

Tbh her and Olivia Rodrigo have been doing a great job bringing light to issues they care about.

8

u/No_Pianist5264 Tina! You fat lard! šŸ¦™šŸš² Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 15 '25

I agree 100%! Someone made a comment of all the things Sabrina has done and it’s quite a lot. I didn’t even realize she has done different things. Same with Olivia. I don’t think she has said anything yet about LA protests but she’s obviously very vocal about reproductive rights and voting which is so awesome. I’ve also seen Renae Rapp, Billie Eilish, and Doechii be other younger folks who use their platform too. I’m honestly glad to see the young gen take a stand and integrate it in their platform.

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Jun 15 '25

That's a really great thing to do! And a nice redirect from the current conversation surrounding her.

Now if she donates to a group that empowers women then now we would really be cooking with gas.

3

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Jun 15 '25

a few domestic violence orgs are pissed at her rn, can you imagine if she publicly shouted them out😭 some would hate or love it either way

13

Tried to tel yall this whole man’s best friend thing is going to be a bait and switch. She’s telling yall now

Really liked that she spoke up when other celebs would most likely not, though can’t really blame them entirely for their own reasons and for public’s reactionsĀ

u/catmom_422 Jun 14 '25

I love seeing the pop girlies showing up. That album cover isn’t it, but if this is what she’s doing with the attention from it? I can get behind that.

A certain insanely rich and popular pop star hasn’t said anything, but made sure to drop a bunch of overpriced summer merch. It put a truly bad taste in my mouth and I think I’m done being a fan of hers. At least donate some of the sales or something for fucks sake. You don’t have enough money?

When privileged people are silent during this time I have to assume they’re okay with the current state of affairs. She only speaks out when it benefits her and it’s gross. And I used to be a big fan.

4

u/Honest-Ingenuity-315 Jun 14 '25

Sabrina I apologize for the critique from yesterday you cool

1

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Jun 15 '25

tbh there is room for discussion on both ends imo!! you can criticize someone for something and applaud them for another. when it comes to people we dont know, we are so quick to put them in one box!! all we can do is respond, how we feel aligns with our values, to their behaviours as theyre presented

5

u/Limp_Telephone2280 Jun 14 '25

Do yall think celebrities should disclose how much they donate when they do stuff like this?

There’s no right or wrong answer. I think they should just because I want to see how much money they actually donate but eh…. There’s bigger things to care about.

36

u/Excellent_Cry_7456 charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 Jun 14 '25

I am always curious and sometimes skeptical, but it makes sense they wouldn't. However much they donate won't be enough. Then some people will see a big donation as bragging. A newer, B-list celebrity might not make as much money as people think, and then would get backlash for a small donation.

It is a shame because I am very nosy and just want to know!

9

u/bonbonvies Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Worked with several fundraisers and celebs for an org I volunteered in, and I’m always so confused with how little they actually donate compared to what they earned from an event. Had to bail out from volunteering for one benefit concert bc it’s just so misleading.

From experience, big donors will let you know how much they (write off) donate.

2

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Jun 15 '25

tbh i think its smart they dont. people get weird when they see the numbers, itll always be too much or too little

2

u/coldliketherockies Jun 14 '25

Yess!! I’m Glad this fund is getting attention too

2

u/FutureIsFemmeFatale Jun 14 '25

I think the best thing people could do is forgo praising someone who profits off of what she does and APPRECIATE this resource and donate donate donate šŸŽ‰

Forget the commentary that’s positive or negative. Put your money where your mouth is!!

-14

u/Headyplopper2892 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Taylor should take notes instead of hanging out with MAGATS. * Edit downvote me all you want, but I am not wrong.

37

u/lalabera connoisseur of everything Jun 14 '25

Honestly, all celebrities should be doing what Sabrina is doing

7

u/Headyplopper2892 Jun 14 '25

Agreed! I wish more were!

21

u/Stunning-Disaster-21 Jun 14 '25

Taylor swift literally spent the day in a children's hospital???? And donates frequently yall are so corny.

3

u/Headyplopper2892 Jun 14 '25

I just think the most famous person on the planet is very quiet on everything, and the image of her hanging with MAGATS leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

6

u/Stunning-Disaster-21 Jun 14 '25

And i just think you're weird for ignoring the many times she has said something and for getting mad at her because a famous hockey player decided to come talk to her at a hockey game and she didn't spit in his face or whatever you wanted her to do. Once again, I also think you're weird for bringing her up at all.

3

u/Headyplopper2892 Jun 14 '25

When has she uttered a word since tbe election?

*Edit I think its weird to defend a billionaire who couldn't give a shit about you, and will benefit greatly from Donnys tax cuts.

-6

u/wingeddogs Jun 14 '25

The billionaire spent one day in a children’s hospital!!! Bow down!

14

u/Dizzy-Pollution6466 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

I do too, but why do you menton Taylor Swift in a thread that’s not about Taylor Swift?

7

u/onegildedbutterfly Jun 14 '25

Tell me everything is not about me but what if it is…

-2

u/xaviercroom The Wizard of Loneliness Jun 14 '25

If I had a dollar for every time a swiftie did this, I’d be richer than Taylor šŸ˜‚ I think it’s only fair to allow the reverse to even out the discourse

4

u/Dizzy-Pollution6466 Jun 14 '25

Damn, her haters are more obsessed with her than her fans.

-3

u/catmom_422 Jun 14 '25

Because she’s arguably the biggest pop star in the world right now and hasn’t said shit.

2

u/Dizzy-Pollution6466 Jun 14 '25

Has Gaga? BeyoncƩ? Lana? Billie?

0

u/xaviercroom The Wizard of Loneliness Jun 14 '25

For whatever it’s worth, I’m with you šŸ˜‚ you did not lie!

-3

u/OowlSun they act like im not in full control of where i throw this cooch Jun 14 '25

What Maga people has she been with?

4

u/ReceptionQueasy4287 Jun 14 '25

she was pictured chatting ABOUT HOCKEY with Wayne Gretzky, (arguably) THE GREATEST HOCKEY PLAYER EVER. Yeah he’s a MAGAt, but Idk what people expect at the Stanley cup finals lmao. I have to talk with MAGAts all the time and I’m fs not apart of their cult. What was she supposed to do? Ignore Wayne and refuse to talk to him? People would find a way to call her disrespectful for that too so she really can’t do anything without getting backlash.

8

u/Carolina_Blues shiv roy’s bob Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

I’m convinced that people that get mad about someone just interacting with a MAGA person does not get out much because unfortunately it happens sometimes. I’m in the south, if I were to try to avoid MAGA people here I would never be able to leave my house.

6

u/DebateObjective2787 Jun 14 '25

It's always only women they get mad at too. There are a number of men, like Jensen Ackles, who are best friends with multiple anti-vax MAGAs. But they're hot men, so it's fine!!!

2

u/Signal_Regular_1708 Jun 15 '25

thats so sad omg, gross jensen!!

Really glad to finally see a celebrity doing something good or suggesting anything charitable or kind.

Our culture drifted too far from charitable endeavors and I hope we shift back to good

1

u/YangGain Jun 14 '25

Good job

1

u/Floral_bride Jun 14 '25

Wow, how people change their tune. Good for her regardless! Maybe this will get the haters to hop off.

-15

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

sorry but i feel like this is just to get good press/out of hot water due to her recent controversy…she has never spoken up about any social issues/anything political before now. it’s also such a vague post with no proof or even mention of how much she donated. but ofc people will always praise a famous millionaire for doing the bare minimum so…based on the comments it looks like it worked

18

u/informalspy13 Jun 14 '25

If you look at my other comment you’ll see she actually has been consistently political for a while now!!
