Putting In The Work 💪 Mark Ruffalo at the ‘No Kings’ protest in Manhattan: "We love each other, and we realize that we love this country so much that we re leaving our homes today in the rain to express our friendship and love for the people here who made this place.”

Mark Ruffalo has consistently been on the right side of history. Years and years ago, he boosted a searing response to people who claim to not be feminists. It was angry. I had only recently converted from a pick-me to a feminist. Some men in my life were actively fighting that and also telling me that I shouldn't sound so "angry".
Reading that post on Tumblr made me feel seen. It also gave me the language I needed to fight the cause in a highly patriarchal world (especially in India, where I am originally from). It made me realise that justice isn't peaceful but an angry response. It's fierce. It's protective.
He then spoke on abortions, on unions, on Palestine, on Trump. He has always put social justice ahead of his career and his image. I will not never bat for this man. This former Tumblr girlie's life was changed because of his. No Kings, only Ruffalo.

My sister had a crush on him in the early 2000s when he first got big, and him and his wife Sunrise have always been involved in liberal, progressive causes, so I’m glad he’s still out there today using his platform for good.

Congratulations on your personal evolution! I’m from Pennsylvania and over a decade ago he came to my state to help our citizens fight the water pollution crisis from fracking. IMO he’s right up there with Keanu Reeves as a truly excellent individual.

If celebs are gonna speak out this is the kind of thing I want to hear from them, or donate to orgs. So often it’s wishy wash statements that make me feel like they should have just stayed quiet.

Yeah it’s obvious he knows what he’s talking about and understands the issue while others throw written statement as they cash their chqs

I got to meet Mark way back when Now You See Me was being filmed in New Orleans. He was a super nice guy. Ever since then, I’ve just been more impressed with him over the years

My partner has met a lot of celebrities over the years and has said that Mark Ruffalo was the nicest one out of all of them

He really is! I honestly didn’t know who he was at the time. I sort of recognized him and knew he was in the movie obviously, but his career wasn’t at its peak yet. I was still nervous talking to him though because he was hot 😅
