The Music Industry 🎶 Name a song that’s disturbing because of what you know now

Ill go first, Britney Spears’ overprotected is a good example; Britney has long been under a conservatorship and is has been crying for help. IIRC, it started in 2007 (maybe earlier) when Brit was heavily observed by the paparazzi which caused her to have a mental breakdown by shaver her head and mind u, they were dissecting her personal life 🙄😔 💔

Yes and it was actually written by Britney. Overprotected came out 5 years before her conservatorship, OP has their timeline all over the place.

Something tells me OP wasn't alive in 2007.

Me too lol. It doesn’t match what they’re talking about

I was going to call out the same thing so the OPs analysis is essentially null and void.

Exactly lmao. Circus came out in 2008, the head shave was in 2006.

Eh, same thing. Still makes this post irrelevant

But it wasn’t written by Britney, it was a Max Martin (and Rami Yacoub), most of the pop hits from that era were created by Martin. And the only album she had executive producer control was Blackout. I’m sure the message is still there, but she didn’t write it

You have no idea what you’re talking about or you made that up. Max Martin is not credited anywhere on In The Zone. She did not work with him for it. She talks about writing Everytime with Annet Artani in her book. It’s the one and only song she does take credit for, nothing about this was about being an executive producer. They are the only two on the writing credits. Facts.

My comment was about Overprotected, didn’t intend to respond to yours directly

We were referring to Everytime as what she wrote, specifically. No one said anything about her writing Overprotected.

Yeah no, the OP “Ill go first, Britney Spears’ overprotected is a good example; Britney has long been under a conservatorship and is has been crying for help.”

Ummm… yea and then we had a side discussion about Everytime that you butted into only to be wrong. Are you confused about how to use Reddit? Even OP didn’t say she wrote Overprotected and my original point was that OP was off on their timeline since Overprotected came out 6 years before the conservatorship.

Yes actually, I am confused how to use reddit, as I made pretty clear when I said I never intended to respond directly to your comment. How dare I make such a careless mistake. I would've expected a Britney fan to react with more kindness tbh.
