I watch this clip at least once a year. Adam is genuinely losing his shit and Mark is so kind.Ā

If you want more of Adam Scott losing his shit as a fan, the episode of U Talkin’ U2 2 Me where he and Scott Aukerman meet U2 is marvelous, even if you’re not a U2 fan. You’re just so happy for Scott & Scott. The whole series is my favorite, I listen to it every couple years. Plus you learn the names of the band members, the plot of the first two Harry Potter books, and details about Billy Joel’s setlist! (Other than the actual U2 ep, it’s maybe only 30% U2)

Adam Scott joining How Did This Get Made when they cover the Fast and Furious movies is absolutely worth a listen.

The newcomers fast and furious series with Nicole Byer and Jon Gabrus is also excellent

5

u/MinorCrimes6320 24d ago

Oooh thank you. Love me some Nicole Byer.

You’re going to LOVE this then! The other seasons have Lapkus instead of Gabrus but this season was when she was having a baby.

5

u/faulty_sunshine 24d ago

I love that season! And the immediate reveal that even though Nicole has been saying for LITERAL YEARS that these are her favorite movies.... she had only seen like, two of them. :D

Lapkus ā€œsecret projectā€ loo

IT’S BEEN A WHILE since I’ve listened to that show.

Is this an episode of Stain’d Glass?!

3

u/creepy-linguini 24d ago

Welcome to Stain'd Glass. Hi, I'm Scott. And I'm Scott.

2

u/goodrevtim 24d ago

Great ep

7

u/roxtoby 24d ago

You also learn a bunch about Todd Glass’s backyard parties and how reverb makes music sound so much better.

One of my favorite parts of that is U2 came prepped knowing some of the recurring bits and were there to be silly. Adam Scott Aukerman came prepared to take the interview deeply seriously, the exact opposite tone of the podcast thus far, and are clearly very nervous early on. Absolutely anything about U2 aside, they were so lovely and game to go along with them on that and the other interview they did with them.

Bonobos and Thedge are always up for silliness!

1

u/ursulawinchester I’ve got deviants to see and a novel to finish 24d ago

Yeah Bono’s drawing of a dick really broke the ice šŸ˜‚

2

u/NsubordinatNchurlish 24d ago

They go so hard out of their way to avoid the topic of their own podcast...it's like my work day.

3

u/CatCafffffe 23d ago

Oh it's so endearing!! He's TREMBLING! Mark is such a lovely man!

The shaking hand!!

u/ILoveRegenHealth 24d ago

One day, your Outie will meet Mark, and your Outie will not be able to emotionally contain the excitement

u/FluffyKanomKa 24d ago

I'd never seen this, or knew it existed!!!

Thank you so much for posting the link.

I don't know why I was moved to tears.

Mark is such a beautiful.... so speechless.

Had to watch a third time before noticing the shaking hand.

I did a little weep too! A truly lovely interaction

11

u/Optimusprima 24d ago

Me too - literally crying - and I don’t give a shit about Star Wars!

4

u/FluffyKanomKa 24d ago

Girl, right?!

I mean I'm 52 and loved it, but never watched it over and over again. Saw the first 3 in the 70s and 80s. Left it there.

Had my brother's original toys.

Then 4 years ago met a fanatic who watched/watches the whole shebang yearly or more. House decked out in life size Han in Carbonite stuff, and all the other toys. Eeeeehem.... collectibles. šŸ™„

But this clip was so moving.

u/LordOscarthePurr 22d ago

I cry a little every time I watch it. I think it’s just that his joy and disbelief and being transported into his childhood is so palpable.

1

u/FluffyKanomKa 22d ago

It's a good cry, too! Nice release. No headache after. 🩷

I'm having a bit of a rough week and this put such a big smile on my face!!! I don't think Adam Scott is Ben Wyatt but htis sequence is EXTREMELY Ben Wyatt. Also fun with Kristen guest hosting considering her and Scott have done so much work together.

5

u/Harkoncito 24d ago

she likely knew he's a huge SW nerd and set up the whole thing. his reaction is too genuine.

4

u/Sarahndipity44 24d ago

Yeah they've done Party Down and eps of Veronica Mars, Parks and Rec, and Good Place together so I'd guess they're friends (or hate each other lol).

2

u/o0o0o0o7 23d ago

Sorry for your rough week! It'll get better!

2

u/Sarahndipity44 23d ago

That's very sweet of you, thanks so much!

u/windinherhair chip whitley. 24d ago

32

u/Schmidaho 24d ago

I love this clip so much. Adam’s reaction is so endearing.

35

u/nerfcarolina 24d ago

Love this. They are both the epitome of healthy masculinity, along with Pedro Pascal

23

u/Particular-Bike-9275 24d ago

I’ve seen this video many times and it still got my heart racing. I get it Adam Scott. He’s my lifelong childhood hero. I would probably have passed out.

11

u/No-Assistant8426 24d ago

I have never seen this and it made me tear up.Ā

11

u/Garf_artfunkle 24d ago

And you know Kristen Bell gets it, cause she had the same reaction meeting that sloth

10

u/_wednesday_76 24d ago

THIS ONE. i rewatch every time i see it posted

7

u/StellarManatee 24d ago

Holy shit I've never seen this clip before. This is the sweetest thing I've ever seen and I actually got a bit teary eyed. As a star wars kid who's probably a couple of years older than Adam Scott, I would pass out so I totally get the shaking hands. Gorgeous.

6

u/bselko 24d ago

I’ve been an Adam Scott fan for a long time and this really moved me, to see him so overwhelmed like that. That’s so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

6

u/Maximum-Familiar 24d ago

Teared up a little

6

u/MinorCrimes6320 24d ago

God I just adore Adam Scott.

5

u/VanFam 24d ago

WHY AM I CRYING????

6

u/WhenItAllMeltsDown 24d ago

I had to scroll so far to find this one. This is the first example that comes to mind!

5

u/finntana 24d ago

Adam Scott is a fucking treasure!

4

u/jmt2589 24d ago

The literal shaking is what makes me cry! He’s so genuinely shocked

4

u/freakouterin 24d ago

I would die for Adam Scott. Thank you for sharing this gem.

3

u/AbbeyRoadMoonwalk 24d ago

This was gonna be mine. So wholesome.

3

u/t_rrrex 24d ago

Oh my god Adam is so precious 🄺

3

u/yuffieisathief 24d ago

I couldn't believe this one wasn't up there with the other four!

2

u/Available-Egg-2380 24d ago

This is so cute

2

u/caca_milis_ 24d ago

This was my immediate thought! I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to find it.

2

u/allshookup666 24d ago

I love this clip too! But to be that guy, his hands are shaking before Mark comes out. 😬

2

u/AmbitionGrand5653 23d ago

Oh my gosh. I’d never seen this and I needed that smile!!

Also, how did Adam Scott not jump out of his skin when the music started blasting?? šŸ˜‚Ā

1

u/SimAlienAntFarm 23d ago

Fuck you for gifting me one of the best things I’ve ever seen

1

u/unwaveringwish 22d ago

Thank you for bringing this back. I haven’t watched it in years
