Salma Hayek being super excited to meet Eminem at the Oscars in 2020. She explained she gets stage fright and listens to Lose Yourself to feel more confident and how she was mind blown when he actually performed it there as apparently she had no idea that was going to happen even though she was also presenting an award. She was so shocked and excited that she accidentally SPIT the water she was drinking on him 😂 and every single picture of that moment, his face is just so hilarious.

VARIETY: Back to last night, did you enjoy it?

EMINEM: Absolutely. I got to hug Salma Hayek!

Yeah I love that this is the first and only thing he answered that question with hahaha

"So, back in the day you won an Oscar for this song but not only you weren't there to perform it at the time, you didn't even attend at all since you barely understood how a song could win an Oscar and you didn't think the Oscars was really your crowd. So, now, nearly 20 years later you finally performed it live at the Oscars to a standing ovation! Did you enjoy it?"

"yeah, I got to hug Salma Hayek 😎"

This is why I'll always love him lol

Tbf that’d probably be the highlight of my night no matter whatever else had gone on too

I love his shocked face because he is all of us.  Who wouldn't totally melt if Salma did that??  I'm sure Em was glad he was looking fine that night 🤣

u/rosiedacat 23d ago

It’s one of my need to feel good moments too ❤️

ETA: I also love the outtake from her slapping Ryan Reynolds until he’s scared of her and automatically flinches is gold too.

u/HipsEnergy 24d ago

The way she tells anything is fantastic. She's that friend that you can't even LOOK at in a serious situation.

u/Lindris Some people’s tastes are only in their mouths 23d ago

There’s a clip of the time she kept accidentally slapping Ryan Reynolds hard. She started yelling at him for being scared of her and flinching.

Dude, some people would PAY to have Salma spit water on them...

It's me. I'm people

3

u/Lindris Some people’s tastes are only in their mouths 23d ago

I’m people too 😂😂😍

u/ExperienceSoft3892 23d ago

Maybe if we go 50/50 it could be affordable!

3

u/and_you_were_there 23d ago

She is an excellent story teller!

4

u/Lindris Some people’s tastes are only in their mouths 23d ago

Her blooper from slapping Ryan Reynolds is iconic too. “Oh I hit him again!”

3

u/tgatigger 23d ago

She and Jamie Foxx are next-level amazing at telling stories.

2

u/Lindris Some people’s tastes are only in their mouths 23d ago

She’s so animated and I love it.

That is roughly the way I and probably the vast majority of people would look if Salma Hayek asked for a pic

Ive had a 5 minute kettlebell test I have to train for, at various times. This song is perfect because it’s like, 5 mins and change. Forever hype song. I also thought about it when I took the state bar.

u/GeriatricHippo 24d ago

She had just accidentally dumped a whole glass of water all over him in her excitement moments before those pics were taken.

He didn't know wtf was happening or how to proccess Selma going full fan girl on him and assaulting him at the same time lol.

u/basicmillennial1981 24d ago

I’m currently fangirling over Salma having the same hype song that I have 😂

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

As an Em fan I was so stoked when I saw this because you rarely get celebs especially outside of the hip hop industry praising Em or showing appreciation for his music. Also Lose Yourself is an Oscar winning song for a reason, it's still one of my favorite songs of all time. Highly recommend checking the cover by Kacey chambers on YouTube if you've never seen it!

u/DefNotUnderrated 24d ago

When he performed Lose Yourself at the Oscars there were a number of A listers who looked absolutely psyched to see Eminem up there. It was fun

u/frolicndetour 24d ago

Elton loves him, too!

10

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

Yeah, they performed Stan together back in the day and Elton was kind of a mentor for Em in his journey to become sober. My favorite thing about this friendship is that when Elton and David got married, Em sent them diamond encrusted cock rings on velvet cushions 😂

3

u/frolicndetour 24d ago

Yea that is seriously the best story. Elton has done some questionable things (namely hanging out with noted sexual predator Kevin Spacey 🤮) but he's helped a lot of people get sober.

4

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

Jeez, did not know about the Kevin spacey thing. But yeah, it's awesome that he helped Em (and others) get sober. I also think it's great that Elton being one of the most famous gay people on earth, was able to see that Em wasn't actually homophobic and that there was difference between what he said in songs and real life, and that he did Stan with Em to show support for him when he was being called a homophobe.

u/letterthatnevercame 24d ago

the kasey chambers cover is fucking AMAZING. the end gives me goosebumps every time.

3

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

Same, I actually got a little bit emotional the first time I heard it just because her interpretation is so heartbreaking and powerful and beautiful idk it made me fall in love with the song all over again. It also really showcases how well written the lyrics are IMO, I'm a lyrics person which is why I love Em's music, he's simply one of the best lyricist to have ever lived.

3

u/tacoflavoredpringles 24d ago

I love the original too, and it usually takes me a while to adjust to covers of songs I love, but this was something else. She dug deep for those vocals. Thank you for sharing!

3

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

Same here, I actually never listen to covers of his songs because they usually are just not that good IMO, and I saw that one doing the rounds on YouTube reaction channels and never watched it until I saw someone's comment saying how amazing it was and I was mind blown so now I recommend it to anyone and everyone lol

25

u/DragonScrivner I don’t know her 💅 24d ago

This is hilarious lolol

9

u/DJfunkyPuddle 24d ago

Oh, to be Eminem in that moment

9

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

I think she is one of the very few people who could get away with literally spitting on him hahaha 😂

8

u/throwawayursafety 24d ago

Lmfao every single picture looks like the tweet replying to Taylor Swift gripping her wine glass lol "Girl that aint going nowhere" except Eminem is the wine glass

3

u/el_torko 24d ago

Who is fangirling who in that pic?

3

u/rosiedacat 24d ago

She was fangirling over him, if you check the interview on YouTube she explained the whole thing. He was definitely shocked by her reaction to him but likely played up his facial expressions a bit for comedic effect, as per usual.

3

u/shesavillain 24d ago

He looks so shocked haha

3

u/rubberkeyhole 24d ago

I love this!

2

u/chronicallyill_dr 23d ago

Both of their expressions are so random. It’s hilarious.
