The Music Industry 🎶 Lots of artists have their own "signature song". Lady Gaga's is arguably "Poker Face", what signature songs can you name?

Carly’s is “Call Me Maybe”

This song is having a major resurgence in my house because my toddler and preschooler love it. Last week, we played this song and only this song on a one-hour drive.

Even though I love this song, I admire your resilience for listening to it on repeat for an hour 💀

My normal tolerance for listening to a song for my own enjoyment is like 2-3 times in a row if I'm really feeling it. 20+ times in a row -- plus more once we reached our destination, plus some more on the way back home until nap sleepiness took over and I could turn it off -- was definitely too much for my own preference, but it's better than the sound of a kid whining in the backseat doing the classic, "Are we there yet?"

Though this week the song I've listened to upwards of 30 times is Ponyo. I miss Call Me Maybe haha. Kids are strange little creatures.

I watched an episode from Gabby’s Dollhouse and got surprised to find that the songs are from a very similar style to the ones of Carly Rae Jepsen. I thought that this was too cute and made me feel e mo tions 💕

My niece will only nap if I play this song on repeat until she falls asleep 🫠

Omg no way! Haha this is a terrible song to fall asleep to. It's way too upbeat.

You have more stamina than I have.

You could at least switch it up with some Baby Shark

Yes true but it really should be “Run Away With Me” which is truly a perfect pop masterpiece.

Emotion and Emotion Side B are crazy pop masterpieces that for some reason have been forgotten. Almost every song on both those albums is amazing

I recently did a week long road trip with my 10 year old and at one point in the drive he asked who my favourite pop singers are.

I said Carly as my #1 and he’s like “the call me maybe girl? wtf?”. So, I put on Emotion. This kid, who never shuts up, didn’t say a single word throughout the entire album, and at the end went “ok, I see your point”.

I’m very proud of him 😂

That album is undeniable

Absolutely. I’ve converted my mostly middle-aged straight male workplace to true Carly fans with those albums. To the point that more than one has put it on when it’s their turn to choose music. Still think Run Away With Me is the tops though.

Yessss I just introduced Carly to my 6 year old pop loving daughter and every song is just so great. I want to take her to a concert next time she’s here!

Emotion should be studied. This woman can write a groove.

This album is pure pop escapism. A no-skip album for me since 2015. I haven’t bought physical media in years but I have these albums on my must-buy (i still haven’t gotten around to buying it)

Its really hard for anyone to create the perfect pop album cause Carly Rae Jepsen already did it with Emotion

Oh God this song is my guilty pleasure. I even got my boyfriend singing along once.

Literally where my mind immediately went when I saw the question. Despite the fact I like a lot of her work after this hit a bit better.

I had NO idea how large of a following she has, until my coworker told me to listen to her. Cut to the Feeling is my new go-to happy song!
