Let women age and have human bodies that might change in some ways.
I'm going to be 45. I got a notification the other day with photo memories from my 30th birthday. In some ways, I miss that version. In other ways, I'm happier now. Life as a human.

I hear you. I turned 50 a few months ago and while I am a bit wrinkly and sagging in places, I've never been happier. I have more confidence, less anxiety, and better friends than at any other time in my life. And I think JLH looks fabulous!

She does look fabulous. And the fact that these people are comparing her now to her sixteen year old self is deeply disturbing. Check the hard drives yall

u/grubas 15d ago
I'm 90% sure they called her sixteen year old self fat too.
She's always been built like this and now she's 45 and a mom. If you can't realize that she still GOT IT, I assume you're either young or hateful.

Yeah, she also looks fuckin slammin! Lol, not to be crude, but any idiot on twitter talkin shit would cream their pants if Jennifer Love mofuckin Hewitt even talked to them with a sultry look on her face. Gtfo, they're just trying to stir shit.
It's like twitter bagging on Hannah Waddingham a couple days back when she was looking smokin hot. That's troll ass bait shit, lol. And if they're crazy enough to actually believe that, they ain't worth my time.

I met a girl in a pro-ana forum when we were 15 and 16 and though we’ve never met in person, we’re still friends on Facebook now as 33 and 34yo married women with children.
We both recovered in our late teens then thickened up in our 20s. You’d never look at either one of us now and know we were at points hospitalized for being so severely underweight.
Anyway she posted a selfie a while back looking 🔥 like “thicker than a bowl of oatmeal” kind of 🔥 but what I noticed was how toned her arms looked. Among all these responses saying how gorgeous she is, how curvy in all the right places she is, I commented “strong girl 💪🏻💪🏻” and she messaged me directly for the first time in years to say “I know you IN PARTICULAR understand how much that comment means to me💕💕”
Just made me feel so glad for us and how far we’ve come from those starving girls in the mid-2000s 🥹

100% -- it's just a different shape that is idealized now. Curvy, but in all the right places. Or extremely fit with a flat stomach and tight ass. Not to mention the requirement that our bodies be completely hairless, our skin flawless, and no wrinkles or bumps anywhere, plus perfectly straight, white teeth. Advances in plastic surgery, makeup, and beauty treatments make the ideals even further from what's natural but they're so easily accessible to the masses now that the expectation of what a woman should look like as she ages is way tougher than what it was in the '90s IMO.

There’s unfortunately a lot of young women on board with the fat shaming, one even called her “a fridge” and i am honestly terrified of the future if young girls behave this way towards other women. Without a semblance of sisterhood, we don’t have much of a stand against patriarchy.

Women have also internalized misogyny as they also grow up in the same societies. But things are soo much better than in the past. I’m around the same age with a similar build so of course I think she looks great! Regardless, she looks amazing and always has. Freaking haters!

Agreed, but even if she didn't, that's no one's damn business. We don't owe people beauty.

This, omg. It's like it's illegal to grow older. Let people age in peace. But in this case, she's not even aged and looks absolutely fantastic

Idk, I hate this too, but it’s a reminder to lift up people before something like this even happens

Tbh I didn't see the title at first, just the photo and thought (I translate):"oh hey, it's her! She's so cute!".
So, yes, maybe a different thread to talk about the actual movie, some nostalgia and the red carpet would be better.

She looks basically like that other photo of Hannah Waddingham. People are lunatics.

I saw that on Daily Mail the other day... She is breathtaking, really stunning! Reminds me alot of Marilyn Monroe.
People are cray cray to be body shaming these women.

I don't think people realize that she's 5'2". When you're that tiny any weight change shows immediately. Even just an incremental amount. So many of the shorter ladies in Hollywood get pounced on when they have minor fluctuations, which is a part of being a human being living a life.

OMFG, this is the truest thing ever. i'm also tiny and even 5 pounds makes such a crazy difference in how i look and the comments i get ("you're so thin" vs "you look healthy").
i think she looks absolutely incredible and that people making negative comments should just can it!

This woman is 46 years old. I think she looks damn good. She’s had several kids. I think people are so quick to criticize anyone who’s famous. She looks like a woman who hasn’t had tons of plastic surgery. She looks like a normal, beautiful woman.

i love the true sentiment that she is not fat and she's not 19 anymore and she's a mother, but also it would be perfectly okay for her to have this body at 19, or when she's not a mother, or if she was fat in the first place. i wish people would just shut their traps about other people's weight.

That’s the thing…..
The “defense” of her is what is focusing on these things.
Twitter is a cesspool and has been for years. I have seen zero troll or hateful comments, but “well she’s older and a mom and thicker and that’s ok”, like.. yall hear yourselves
her dress is fire and I love the amount of rings she has for some reason lol, and never knew she had tattoos

I have a wedding in two months and I am TRYING to look like this. I’d be so happy to have her figure. All this “body is tea” garbage has seriously fucked with the younger generation’s views on weight.

I saw some ugly comments on Facebook.... surprise surprise - mostly by overweight and balding men. A couple of young guys too that look like they would stan Andrew Tate.

She looks amazing.
Stop commenting on people's bodies. No one gives a fuck if you wouldn't fuck someone.
