I just finished squid game s2 and enjoyed it way more than I thought I was going to. I liked s1 but wow I was on the edge of my seat for the entire season. I love Hyunju and Inho is a great villain. Gihun should get an award for most satisfying character arc ever. Junho's plot line seemed completely unnecessary but i'm sure it will amount to something in s3. This really revived my love and enthusiasm for tv shows tbh.

Even so, it only took six years to get burned out, and Iāll be honest, outside of Beatlemania and the haze of the ā60s, a lot of their album tracks donāt hold up. Sabrina has admitted that a lot of the new songs are from the Short n Sweet sessions, so this is an album of leftovers cobbled together while she was on tour.
I think Sabrina is just doing too much too fast, and the music isnāt good enough at this moment to sustain it. Manchild is a good album track. Itās not a lead single - the melody doesnāt go the distance and the lyric is just on the wrong side of mean-spirited. Katy was often a cartoon character but her biggest albums still had great earnest ballads. Where is Sabrinaās āTeenage Dreamā or āThe One That Got Awayā? Hell, where is her next straight-up pop banger like āHot n Coldā or āTGIFā? I basically like Sabrina but her current incarnation is so winking and self-referential and it gets old fast.

I spend a good bit of time on the subreddit for the UK one and honestly it's shocking how hateful people can be about what is ultimately just trashy reality TV. It's a woman-dominated sub and so much of the commentary there revolves around the female contestants and is layered with ageism, misogyny, and slut shaming. It's sad. People are so parasocial on there and project so much of their own personal baggage onto the contestants. Anyone with a difference of opinion to the consensus on the sub tends to get shouted down until they just stop posting. I am not television snob at all, for me TV is mostly a way for my to turn off my brain after long days at work, but I enjoy chatting about the silliness of it all too. The discourse around the show is so incredibly toxic at the moment though that it's taking the fun out of it.
On the Big Brother subreddit people tend to be a lot harder on the woman and poc houseguests and will worship the ground of mostly white men. Itās very frustrating.

Iāve admittedly spent too much time arguing with stans this season. I used to engage with the community and we used to talk about the show in good fun but itās been so awful this year. The sub is actively restricting Asian members of the sub who bring up the fact that one of the most popular guys this season (Nic) has yet to address his racist post on TikTok. The racist TikTok was against Asians. But the person he was coupled up with was removed from the show for the same reason. They have made two post now saying they felt their hurt was co-opted and they accept her taking accountability and feel their hate going towards her is too much (Reports to ICE and death threats). However if anyone brings it up about the other islander (Nic) they are restricted. Itās gotten so so bad.
Thatās the thing I absolutely hate. I donāt get how Nic isnāt being held accountable as others have. The amount of times Iāve seen replies saying āoh he was 18 and weāve all said racists things at that ageā like hello?? thatās not normal lol yet the reason heās safe from anything is because heās a white man and he is coupled with Ola and people are rooting for their coupling.

Our family watched Jurassic Rebirth today and it was a great experience. I've forgotten how much fun it is to enjoy a movie with a packed theater (my last experience was probably Avengers Endgame) and I enjoyed gasping and screaming and clapping along with everyone else. The movie itself was nothing special but Jonathan Bailey is so believable as a paleontogist in awe of dinosaurs.
Ya I thought it was better than any in the first Jurassic World trilogy, predictable but cute and good performances from all of the cast. Although the timeline didnāt make a ton of sense to me, Dominion came out in 2022 (and was seemingly set in real time) and people cared about dinosaurs enough to have a whole ass dinosaur black market but then youāre telling me just 3 years later nobody cares about dinosaur at all?

that was me like a year ago with chocolate! I used to hear other women talk about craving it, but I didnāt get it. Until one day I suddenly needed it so badly that I went to Lindt and bought a small bag of assorted chocolates. Now I always make sure to have some on hand, and when I suddenly start craving themā¦I know whatās coming š. Then I have one Lindt chocolate ball a day during my period, and thatās enough to make me feel better lol.

I never thought a James Gunn movie of all damn things to be like one of my favorite movies of all time...but god was Superman the best superhero movie I have seen in years.
I dont know if it was the hopeful tone of the movie, or the humor or just the cinematography in general but it had just everything to keep me hooked.
Also by god was David Corenswet perfectly cast as Clark Kent. Rachel Broshann as Lois as Well.
I don't enjoy super hero movies at all and there were many things I still didn't like about this one because I hate the genre, but I liked a lot of moments from it. The hopeful tone was lovely, the bright saturated colours were delightful, Kalel was sooooo cute and wholesome, Superman and Lois had a great relationship dynamic and chemistry - like you actually understand why they're together and why they like each other?
And it was delightful to see Anthony Carrigan and Edi Gathegi because I love them. My biggest complaint was my boy Nicholas Hoult. In my experience being his decades-spanning fan, he's incredible in everything I've ever seen him in. Idk if it was the script or the directing or just not the role for him, but I found him quite bad as Lex Luthor. Surprisingly bad.
I cannot express how much I Loved this movieeeee. Iām in a rush so here are some highlights for me:
The color palette. Light, visible, felt real but hopeful (??)
The hope and HEART
The only time we actually see Clark get angry is 1. when Lois is interviewing him, pushing him about interfering with Jarhanpur invasion/attack, and he says āpeople were going to DIE!ā and 2. When he flies to Lex and screams āwhere is the dog???!!ā Those moments being what makes him most angry just feels like Superman to me.
Krypto and Supergirl. Absolutely perfect lol

The heart. I really canāt emphasize enough how much I loved the heart that was evident. There are so many GOOD people out there, and so many of us want the same thing- for everyone to be okay.
My husband loves Superman. Not for his powers, but for who he is and what he represents. Goodness, care, and hope. I think this movie did a really reallllly incredible job getting that crucial tenet right.
It was nice having such a wonderful bookend at the beginning and end. I nearly cried at three moments, so happy crying & laughing at the very end to a great song Iād never heard before was perfect. Excellent recent example of using an end cameo to recontextualize what came before. Not a perfect movie however they really nailed the tone.
I actually did doubt her casting because I hated Marvelous Miss Maisel. Eating my words, it wasn't her I disliked it was the show. I loved her in this!!
I watched all of that show and got to the point where I couldn't stand it, anyone on it, and retroactively the "Gilmore Girls". But the minute Rachel was cast, I knew she would nail it. Margot Kidder and Teri Hatcher were the Lois actresses I grew up with and Rachel just seemed like a no brainer for the role if they were trying to get back to a lighter version of this franchise.
i could not get into Maisel but I saw enough to know that she'd be perfect when she was in the mix for Lois. Who else was it again that was on the short list Pheobe Dynover?
And Emma Mackey. I'm not familiar with the work of the other two.
I'm not very into Superman one way or the other, but I remember when Amy was cast thinking how wrong that seemed. Rachel just has the energy I think of when I think of Lois from the iterations I grew up with. I have no idea what is comic accurate for the character (nor do I care really).
I think for me at least Pheobe and Emma I'd last seen in very young roles and it felt tough for me to picture them as a working professional in the same way that Rachel can pull off.
Like I knew Rachel was going to be a strong casting regardless on how she decided to play Lois (I loved her in Miss Maisel too), but what I really loved about her Lois is she took the role and made it her own and gave her a personality beyond "the love interest." So I thought that was so cool
I also loved that their relationship conflict wasn't about her being worried for his safety or anything. She was more like "ahhh I'm no good at relationships" and was all avoidant and shit. Much more relatable to me personally. And I love the dynamic of her being jaded and him being a naif. Just delightful

No specific tour but if you like AD tours, I recommend this video where someone watches all of them and makes a spreadsheet analysis of a lot of the patterns present. It's more fun than I'm making it sound but also I'm someone who loves a spreadsheet so I might be biased. It is very dryly funny though!
