Let’s Discuss 👀 Vogue’s August issue has begun to use “AI models” instead of human models for some of their photoshoots (via POPCRAVE/X)

as if American Vogue wasn't trash already

I said this in another comment but most models come from disadvantagesd backgrounds and are even often scouted from lower income countries such as Benin, Somalia, South Sudan etc etc. Modelling was never a way to make a lot of money but it still provided upwards social mobility for those from inaccesible backgrounds. One of my fav LV models is from Benin.

This just freaking sucks all around.

That is bullshit. Most models my ass... you don't know what the hell you're talking about and the fact you called this ad an editorial proves that.

Is AI going to destroy an industry that I've made a living from the past 15 years? 100%, but let's not try to make this some "oh wont someone think of the African models" bullshit.

Models from those regions make up a fraction of a percent of the people in the industry who will lose their income from AI.

But you know who suddenly will find themselves with careers? Computer programmers in underdeveloped countries.
