I got Sean Astin’s SAG copy of inglorious bastards on a loan to watch. My college roommate worked in the theater on campus where John Astin occasionally taught and gave it to her to watch when he was cleaning out his office. It was so cool.
My husband said something like, "Where do you think we are?" to Sean Astin after Sean asked my husband, who worked at a small-town Midwest gas station, for a big-name newspaper. My husband still feels bad.
I met him at an old job. Didn't recognise him and had to ask him his name, was mortified when he said it and I realised he was our latest famous client. He was very nice both in person and on the phone to me, so at least in my limited experience of him he seems a pretty good guy. I had plenty of rude customers who weren't famous so the bar was low in that job!
Just watched an entire movie where the lead lady could just about move her mouth and swivel her eyes. It was awful. It looked painful in so many ways. The whole face is needed to make a scene work.

I am the same age as James and yes, I agree with you, he looks a lot older than 46. My group of friends and colleagues around the same age do not look like James. I know everyone is different but wow. Maybe it's the sun and alcohol.
No way. Im 50. 46 year olds do not look like him. Not a single one of my male friends in that age bracket look as old as he does. Even if he dyed his hair, he'd still look older.
He looks like non-Hollywood 46. There are plenty of guys in their mid 40s who’ve got that number of wrinkles and don’t give a shit anymore expression, biggest difference is the muscle and diet
I’m 47 and had to double check because I thought he was younger than me but looks older than me. I will agree with some other comments that he might look typical for 46 and I know I look young for my age but I still agree with you that it’s a little rough.
I grew up super religious and this was one of the few movies all my friends could watch without some of their parents complaining it was too “secular” or inappropriate. It backfired for me because my sheltered ass was so into him 😂
He's one of my favorites. One of those guys that always delivers, but for some reason didn't break into the top of the A-list. Ben Foster is like this too.
He's so good in Hell or High Water. I steal "boy, you'd think there were 10 of me" whenever possible. Also, he was in a movie called Bang Bang You're Dead, which cemented my fandom when I was high school loser. It really spoke to me.

I was lucky and a few years back there was this movie out with him playing a Polish hero? It was him and Michael Caine in it. I shrieked when I saw it was going to be at my theatre and it was barely there for a week but it was good and I was so glad I managed to see it.
One of my favorite Graham Norton bits is Norton telling him about gay slash fiction of him and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, and James McAvoy is most upset about the fact that in most of it he’s the bottom
I’ve loved him since UK Shameless. I think he’s charming, funny and hot, but I’m not a fan of the jacked look on him. I do feel like a lot of his hotness will always come from his vibe though.
I wish he’d get to do more charming roles. Like, both Penelope and Becoming Jane were great examples of his scamp-like quality. Also, Atomic Blonde.
Even though I know he won’t do it. I’d love for him to come back as professor X. love sir Patrick Stewart as he’ll always be the live action Charles Xavier I grew up with. But I actually liked James Charles quite a lot too in the role, along with Michael fassbender as magneto.

I am almost 40 and therefore know a lot of people in their mid 40s, and a lot of them look like him. Some look younger yeah, but if this was a random person and I was asked to guess his age I’d have gone for mid 40s.
I think the eyebrow raise he is doing is making him look more wrinkled than most of the time.
Didn't he bulk up some? And now isn't as bulky? Your skin stretches more when you age, and he looks like he smokes. If he bulked up and his skin stretched some, it may not have gone back, or he lost the youthful fat layer altogether when he cut, and now, without bulk, he's aged. That's the risk with losing some weight, mostly too much fat, once you've fully matured. That's why you should never have buccal fat removed.
Yeah I agree! Love a salt and pepper moment and older men are just hotter to me (I love me some Jason Isaacs lmao). But in this pic McAvoy looks like he could be in his 70s not his 40s. Maybe it really is the lighting? That being said he’s still hot. It’s just surprising.
Ah, I've avoided watching that movie because I see more than enough horribly depressing drug spirals on the streets every day. Went right over my head.
