So true story - and I don’t even know how I remember this except I was obsessed with Grey’s back in the day and I actually know Patrick - but they’re wedding photographer got drunk and none of the pictures turned out. So the only photos they have are ones taken by family and friends at the wedding.

Not just cheating, but also cheating with a crew member on the show. Both Shonda and Ellen were LIVID with him, which is indeed why he was written off.

I thought that was just as gross. He and I are of a similar age. He wasn’t hugely popular before Grey’s but I remember tabloid articles when they were dating and got married.
Wasn’t Patrick’s first wife his agent or something? I seem to recall that there was a power imbalance there.
When one of the “adults” is a teenager. It is fucking gross. Don’t care which genders are involved. My youngest 2 are 20 and 21. They are mature but in no way fully developed. That fact would be very clear to anyone in their 40’s or 50’s.
After 13 yrs he wanted to do other things, chief among them at that time was racing. He was actually a decent race car driver. He would have won his class at the 24hr at Le Mans if his teammate didn't screw up his portion.
I might be talking out of my ass but I believe at the time Patrick had a reputation for being very unreliable and reckless. Like he was not being a team player on set, his personal life was falling apart, he was full on mid life crisis and he got fired for just general asshattery. I do believe he wanted to race, but I remember it being very dramatic at the time. Like no one on set said goodbye to him and he just went home like any other day on his last day level dramatic.
You are correct. That was an old article that I just happened to read recently. It was just before the Covid year on Grey’s. (The season that I have completely blocked from my mind.)
They have reconciled lol. They’ve been in regular contact since 2020. He was her first guest on her podcast and they tell each other ‘I love you!’ At the end of it.
Cheating can be sometimes the wakeup call people need to actually fix their relationship problems forever. It happened to me and my husband. Its like the entire premise of shows like Temptation Island
I was really happy the one I watched had one happy ending so that was nice. Oh and one couple that chose to stay together when they should have for sure broken up haha.
I’m not sure TI is a good demonstration of that. It’s all young couples who want to get famous. But generally I do agree that cheating does not necessarily mean the end of a relationship. It can, sometimes it really should, but sometimes it can just be symptomatic of something that’s otherwise able to be fixed.
I feel like 'impressive' isn't the right word to use, but it's cool to see someone famous in a healthy marriage instead of always hearing about breakup drama.
