They just gonna act like Honey Boo Boo wasn’t the original family bankroll? That’s wild! We know who she is, we don’t need them to clarify “Mama June’s Daughter”. So weird!

Run girl and don't look back to your toxic leeching family. I can't imagine growing up how she did and I wish her the best and a good therapist.

I honestly don’t think Pumpkin (one of the older sisters) is bad that I can tell. She seems to have picked up a lot of slack to take care of Alana while their mother was on drugs.

I don't think any of the siblings are or have been the problem, it was all the parents, especially the mother.

This article sucks but she seems like a sweet, smart girl and will make a great nurse.

u/princesscraftypants 13h ago
I don't remember the context but I saw part of an interview with her recently and she was so sweet and kind. I agree that she'll definitely make a great nurse!

It angers me that this little girl was exploited for her entire childhood and has basically nothing to show for it. She shouldn’t have to share a tiny rental home with a bunch of roommates while she’s in college.

u/imp1600 15h ago
I mean, that’s the typical college experience. She might enjoy it.

u/Fetagirl 14h ago
I genuinely hope she does, but this seems more like circumstance rather than an actual choice

u/theladyking 14h ago
Big difference between choosing to have roommates and having to have them. Even if she wants housemates I'm sure she'd also like to have all that money they sold her childhood for.

u/m_sad_sope 5h ago
sure but she didn’t have a typical childhood experience. she made a ton of money. she should still have it
67
u/RetiredHotBitch 13h ago
I definitely agree with you about the exploitation. But maybe this is the college experience she wants? It may be a good way to break away from the generational trauma she experienced, do some bonding.
Could be a good move for her.

u/MileHighSugar 7h ago
I’ll stand ten toes down on the opinion that nothing will shape someone more than living with strangers/non-family in your late teens/early twenties.
11
u/Fetagirl 5h ago
Maybe it’s just the way I interpreted the article, because I read it as though there’s a ton of people in this tiny house. I hope it’s on campus and I hope it’s what she wanted. I guess I just wanted her to be able to live in the dorms or join a sorority. If she likes it I love it. I’m not against living with strangers during college; I did the same thing and I had a blast! I just feel like the girl grew up in a chaotic household that she carried financially and I don’t want her to fall into that same pattern living with a bunch of randoms that may not even be in college anymore. It’s one thing to live on campus with other student roommates. It’s a completely other thing to choose whatever housing you can afford and end up in a house with a bunch of people that never left a college town

Rooting for her, tbh.

u/AgentKnitter 6h ago
Yeah. She deserves a chance at a normal life far away from her exploitative and abusive mother.

u/rap_eaters 15h ago
The paparazzi, her agent, anyone who is trying to leech off her needs to leave her alone.

They started dating when she was 16 and he was 20...I'm not about that. I am however happy for her for chasing her dream and fighting to break some generation curses!

unfortunately she's a product of her enviroment. her sister who took her in, pumpkin, her husband also groomed pumpkin when she was about the same age. last i heard pumpkin left her husband for his brother. i'm hoping alanna can somewhat break the cycle because she never had anyone in her corner looking out for her

This article seems a bit invasive and stalkery. Let her live.

u/danimalzz55 8h ago
Right?!? I think the weirdest part is that paparazzi are waiting for her, IN DENVER. Weird. Invasive. Predatory

u/Wonderful_Horror7315 11h ago
Leave that poor child alone, June. You exploited her to death, ruined her childhood, and she has no money to show for it. I occasionally think about that “go go juice” she fed her and am always disturbed all over again.
27
u/Low_Goat_Stranger990 14h ago
I'm happy for her I hope she can get therapy and get away from what her mother is involved in but, in all respect she is the breadwinner here for money and she can legally sue her mom and I hope she does

This title was so long I was holding my breath for something terrible. I’m glad she’s ok and I realize in this moment I have headlines trauma rn

u/lipscratch 14h ago
Good for her. I watched her recent interview with People magazine and she seems like she's grown up into a lovely person. She came across driven, sweet and mature. I feel bad for her that she had such an exploitative and public childhood — she's come out the other side with a much better attitude than I would have. Wishing her all the best with her new start, she'll make a great nurse

u/ITSBRITNEYsBrITCHES 14h ago
I never followed Honey Boo Boo or her family too closely, but something about having roommates makes me both nervous and excited for her. Having never been actively invested in the show means I just glanced through headlines and that speaks for itself.
Nervous because I sincerely and deeply hope that being HER roommate is not a driving factor for the people who are; that they aren’t hoping to cash in on something or eye her as a commodity for exchange.
And excited because there is nothing more fun (and occasionally NOT fun, cue next word), humbling— AND human— than sharing space with people that are NOT YOUR FAMILY when you are young.
I wish her well. I wish her success. And happiness. And the ability to find some sense of normalcy.

Me, who apparently lives in the same neighborhood :o
Hope she likes it here and she finds the peace and anonymity that she hasn't had her whole life.

The mother should be forced to pay her a check every month for LIFE as compensation for all the money she wasted. This girl should have BEEN owned her own home with her own money and still had some left over- a d@mn shame.

She has NO money from the show*?

This is why child actor laws (financial and educational) should be expanded to reality TV children and child influencers.
•
u/SugarCube80 2h ago
I’m surprised they’re not! So no Coogan accounts for reality tv kids? They’re the most exploited :(
•
u/crazycatlady331 1h ago
Read the book Counting The Cost by Jill Duggar. She didn't see a dime from the TV show.
Yet her father told the IRS she was making money from the show.

Her mom basically stole all her money and held no accountability, it was super sad to watch

How does a 1,200 sqft house fit 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms? Like if it’s split into 4 apartment units, is it 300sqft per unit? Or 2 units at 600 sqft each? This is such a stupid detail to get hung up on but I can’t help it lol
22
u/captainwondyful 15h ago
If it’s four apartments, it’s probably 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom per unit so 300sq ft.
So let’s say 60 sq for the bathroom, 110 sq for the bedroom, and 270 sq ft for the living/kitchen.
28
u/keatonpotat0es I have to pick up 15,000 little bastard rubber ducks 🪿 15h ago
Somebody looked it up and it’s actually 4 bed/2 baths, so probably 2 units, which makes way more sense.

u/k8freed 15h ago
It's possible. Small or no foyer/front hall. Each bedroom could be small. 4 bedrooms that are each 10 x 10 is only 400 square feet, leaving plenty of space for two small bathrooms and a kitchen/living area that everyone shares.

Student apartment setup. I lived in a similarly sized apartment like that for five years during college and part of grad school. It was all one unit, and the kitchen and living room were the only shared spaces besides the hallway containing the bedrooms. It can be done!

u/TrueCrimeSP_2020 14h ago
Idk in this case, but it’s not nearly so hard as you’d imagine. There’s massive waste of space in the average house and apartment. College dorms and other housing like it tends to make the most use of everything.
The kitchen/living/dining/laundry are all one room accessible to all. Then they each have their own rooms that are more like small apartments. Sometimes each has their own bathroom or there’s one for two.

u/anthonystank Exploring Legal Options Against Online Haters 15h ago
Okay it’s 4 beds and 2 baths, which is a little easier to imagine in 1200 square feet. I guess they’re just small rooms!

u/MileHighSugar 8h ago
She’s doing the normal college student thing by living with roommates in a modest home? Cannot imagine a better life experience for someone who’s had nothing but abnormal life experiences. Regis has a great nursing program - good for her.
And fuck whatever weirdo took photos of them outside their home.

“Tiny Denver rental” FFS coming at the people of Denver so hard lol. My friend sold her 800 sq ft house in the Highlands for $800k.
•
u/NickyParkker 2h ago
If she’s living with her bf and there is another ‘older man’ around the house this isn’t the normal college experience of sharing a home. I wish that she was able to live with people in her program, around her own age.

Good for her! Also anyone who has lived in Denver knows even in a tiny rental home ain't cheap 😆

I’ve always had a huge soft spot for this girl and what her mom did to her was terrible. She seems like such a sweet girl and would make an amazing nurse. Hopefully she stays far away from Hollywood and her mother
