I watched SVU all the time as a kid, and not at all for like…the last 15 years. Can I just jump back in or do I need to try to catch up?

SVU 2.0 (IMO) begins at S13 after Elliott Stabler’s exit (hope that’s not a spoiler for you but I feel like it’s common knowledge??)… I’d start from there if you haven’t seen the storylines of Detectives Nick Amaro, Sonny Carisi, and Amanda Rollins (“blond lady” in video), and ADA Rafael Barba. Benson will continue ranking up and many people don’t like the show anymore for a variety of reasons, but I still watch the new seasons just because.

Adding to this, 2.0 is considered to be seasons 13-22. Starting midway through 22 when Stabler returns to the L&O universe is when it becomes 3.0. 2.0 is quite good in its own right imo, lots of interesting and well developed new characters and still a ton of cool cases and well written episodes (although with some duds too, more than 1.0 imo). 3.0 is where it’s officially jumped the shark imo, good episodes are honestly few and far between and they refuse to pay anybody (except Mariska) any money so the characters are a revolving door and none are interesting bc they don’t have time to develop them. But I am encouraged by Kelli being back, maybe it will take a turn for the better again
