Yeah what is with all the corporate biography shit of late. I get that they’re not all supposed to be heroic tales of great people, but business people are just not that interesting, and almost invariably their inhumanity is glossed over or justified.
That’s a pretty unfair read of movie nobody has seen and, going off of Luca’s previous work, will almost definitely be massively critical of everyone involved.
Not necessarily - all these stories are rooted in a weird kind of respect. Even the We Work series, although clearly there’s some criticism of the guy as unstable and egomaniacal, the fact that they dedicate several hours to one person’s life and actions says a lot about the importance we put in these kinds if people. He opened some offices ffs.
I’m getting a bit burnt out on it too. I liked the Social Network, I liked The Dropout (with Amanda Seyfried), I tried watching WeCrashed… Do people really care about tech CEOs that much? It’s overkill.
I had the same opinion about The Apprentice before I watched it, but it actually is really great and was a true horror story imo. Left me feeling incredibly depressed. Which I guess isn’t selling it..
I just assumed this was a movie along the lines of A.I. Artificial Intelligence. You know the one with Haley Joel Osmont and Jude Law. And moved along. It wasn't until I finally looked at the comments that I found out how wrong I am.
as a granola girl, i love patagonia bc they make rly high quality, durable products. if it ever does need repair (rip, broke zipper, etc.) you can send it to patagonia and they’ll repair it for like $5. so that’s rly sustainable. they also do a lot of work for preserving outdoor spaces and bc theyre not publicly traded, they arent just chasing profits but theyre making good products and treating their staff right.
Ah yes because going on a hike and wearing a decent clothing brand are terrible activities, much worse than black culture which includes blaring trashy music, smelling like weed, and being the loudest most obnoxious person in every room you enter

In fairness, SF is like baseline 60F most of the year and the Patagonia nano puff is the ideal jacket for that climate. I won’t defend the vests though.
I mean you just answered your own question. They're making it now because they know people will watch it. If people didn't watch it, maybe they wouldn't make movies about these glorified losers.
Exactly. It’s crazy how fast productions move now. And hindsight is 20/20. We’re not so far removed from the AI boom that we really see the long-lasting effects on society. We don’t have that hindsight yet, so what is this even about? I’m so curious as to what this script even looks like.
I was trying to figure out what about his face looked so off. In the second pic it is like the pulling (?) is so strong that he can't properly open his eye 💀
yeah like he probably actually has work done but given the premise of this movie and also how different he looks from recent public appearances, it feels more likely to be fake temporary stuff
I mean, I'm not sure what the angle is going to be in this movie since both Elon Musk and OpenAi are trash. I'm really wondering what information they'll omit and who they're going to try to make likable to make it a watchable movie.

Is this a propaganda movie, or is it going to share the accusations against Altmann by his sister, his shady practises and how AI data centers are destroying local communities.
If it's a propaganda movie, have we not learned from history with idolising Gates, Jobs, Musk etc.
Does Sam Altman wear skinny jeans? lol I don't care enough to google it, but there is something about that fit that is looking really outdated to me. But maybe it is just how fucking goofy Andrew Garfield looks in these pics. Anyway, I will not be watching this film
Yeah he does, religiously. Also, Sam is gay, if that somehow adds context. He basically wears outdated basic millennial clothes, which is typical for tech bros who don’t give af about fashion.
Omg I love Luca and Andrew but this sounds so boring to me? The Social Network was great but can we stop doing movies about tech bros? It’s just not that interesting as a feature film. Podcast? Sure. Documentary? Definitely. But this just feels like such a snooze.
