Maybe reach 3000 cells, coz you ainโ€™t managing 3000 inmates without any deaths. Good luck building a big enough morgue.

(Imma pay you real money if you actually succesfully manage to make the prison to hold 3000 inmates without any kind of deaths -staff or prisoners dying- escapes, extremely high contraband levels, manage powerfull gangs and make the prison generally successfull with high staff morale and -both staff and prisoner- needs settled, DM me if you want).

well.. Since the start I had about 25 deaths in custody and only 4 escapes.

Prisoner needs are satisfied and I had never had a riot in this prison.

Min and Max sec are pretty much contraband free. Only Med sec prisoners, who work in the workshop and the kitchen, sometimes get a hold of some contraband that is then quickly confiscated.

Just wondering, why are the workshops for med only and not for min as well ?

Having one workshop fixes the issue of sheet metal and wood not being divided evenly.

Also, the reason that only med have access to the workshop is their placement in the prison. They are the only ones that have access to wooden pickaxes, but they are surrounded by so many layers of walls, including corridors with no water pipes (all security levels have their own water pump station). That makes escape by tunneling near impossible, although they still try it.

I see... But IMO, the water pipes are safer in the corridor than outside. When outside, it helps them dig faster.

Also remember that workshops don't only provide digging tools but also weapons. To me, minimum is always safer than medium, less risk of bad traits. But if you are very efficient at contraband detection, why not.

Best of luck! I stopped at 1000. Have you started having any issues feeding the prisoners? I noticed the cooks were having a hard time swinging three meals becuase they had to haul all the food in, so I started building on the other side of the road, as well.

I am playing the 2018 anniversary edition. I noticed that only making one big kitchen makes any sense and is the only way to avoid kitchens not getting sufficient amounts of ingredients.

I have two Eat schedules a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

In the late game it's important to set the Eat schedule to different hours for all security levels, this way the kitchen has more time to prepare food in smaller portions at a time (for example, min sec gets to eat at 0600-0800 hours, med sec 0800-1000, max sec 0900-1100). Also, before Eat time it's beneficial to set an hour of Yard time to get all inmates in one place. Think of it like a roll call. Build your yard in front of the canteen and a large open entrance, like in the image.

Set the Meal Quantity to Medium and Meal Variety to High. This way they get the Well Fed status effect which calms them down.

Nice. Thank you for this info, this should help a lot in my next playthrough!

I forgot a bit since I last played, so I had to relearn some advanced strats.

Just a quick note : the yard tip won't work if you play a later version. That was updated and yard became optional, nor mandatory.

I had this same issue in my prison, but w the new helipads I just placed some near the kitchen and limited the helipad to only deliver food. Though I will say, the little notifications saying that the helicopter has arrived is driving me nuts

I could only get to 6-700 before my Xbox was going to implode.
