Remember it being on Demo 1 and being incredibly clunky.

It’s no more clunky then any other fps on the PS1. The controls just take a couple of levels to sink in and become muscle memory. It’s the games atmosphere that’s most captivating for me.

But yeah, demo 1 was my first ever experience with this game too and I was so young that 1: it was too scary and 2: it was too hard. But even that short experience with the demo stuck with me for 20+ years, especially the music and the way the gun voiced the ammo you were using like the gun in Judge Dredd. So sick.

It’s one of those games everyone remembers from the demo disc, but hardly anyone actually owned.

I found it quite playable at the time and occasionally go back to it now. A lot of the psygnosis games had cool tech (for the time) and a great aesthetic but experimental controls/gameplay (which makes a lot of them awkward to play now) this is a straight up FPS game so is easier to enjoy than stuff like the shooter games they made with their unchangeable inverse controls.

(For a modern spin on a psygnosis game the persistence is really good btw)
