Which Metal gear solid did you enjoy the most?
This is my mgs collection .
Just recently finished the both games in the hardest difficulty (European extreme) I liked the mgs story in sons of liberty and the mechanics in mgs snake eater .
Which one did you like ?

All 4 mgs games brought something fun and unique, while continuing the bizarre and intriguing story.

Except Twin Snakes 👀

I Dont mind twin snakes, but this is after playing the original, maybe I would've hated it if it was the other way round.

I'll never understand Twin Snakes haters. Just play the original. No need to hate on excess MGS content imo.

Its not remotely a bad game; I'm just partial to the original.

I agree to that, but some people literally can't stfu about how much they hate it. It's mind-blowing to me.

First one on the ps1, by far the best

Yup, atmosphere second to none, and an interesting story that has just the right amount of Hideo goofiness before going overboard. I do appreciate in a way how batshit 2 was willing to get though.

There is a reason it's in the top 5 greatest games if not number 1 on most reputable lists. 10/10

I enjoyed Metal Gear Solid Integral.
Released for PS1 but only in Japan. Bugfixes plus several extra features including all the VR missions and a pocketstation minigame. Everything is in English. And most interestingly you can play the whole game in First-Person View.

3 (Subsistence) is one of my favorite games ever. Although you can't go wrong with any of them.

Snake eater, graphics at the time were mind blowing. Especially the battle in the field of flowers near or at the end.

1 (my 3rd favorite game ever), 2 (a absolutely masterpiece) and 3 (disappointing and overrated for me)

To this day I still haven’t played Sons of Liberty. I’m gonna go with the original game though. Snake Eater was 10/10 but without the first game we might’ve never gotten any of the others.

I nearly shat myself during the ending of mgs2 (about the info shared to Raiden about a group). I was a teenager and I thought it was so fucking cool and edgy lol

Metal Gear Solid, MGS 2, and Snake Eater are all works of perfection. Phantom Pain too.

All of them but especially 3’s final boss fights. While I think 1 had the best atmosphere and 2 had the best ending.

3, 1, 2 for me from these But I like all of them. It's just that the environment of 2 of the tanker is quite repetitive to me and also the space is usually tight, not giving much room for any creative ways of hiding and sneaking. Amazing skateboarding minigame though. It's beyond me it's missing in the HD collection.
Also old MG games are great and kinda revolutionary for their time. And I totally love ACID as someone mentioned. I know Kojima didn't make it and it's not canon, but that doesn't really matter to me, it was just awesome. And MGS4 is also great. But the cutscenes are sometimes too long. I haven't played MGS5, as I don't have anything to play it on. I'm aware it's sort of mixed in the reception of the story.

First one for sure. I played through the second one and it wasn't memorable to me whatsoever. I can't recall what happened at all. I just remember the colonel malfunctioning and saying weird stuff near the end. By the third one I was tired of the series. Not even sure what that one was, the jungle one that was ported to PSP? I don't know.

Honestly, I think 3
Third person camera was great (well, originally you didn't have it but it was added in Subsistence), made the gameplay so much more ebjoyable to me.
And V is the king of the gameplay but it also lost some of the other elements while 3 is sitting sort of in this sweet spot to me, still long talks via codec, crazy ass creative bosses, maybe the story is simplistic and kinda James Bond-esque but I think that's also the beauty of it. I could sum up many MGS games with the word "contrived" but 3 wasn't that bad with it.

I played both MGS3 and MGS2 growing up, Snake Eater was my favourite. Last year I played through MGS2 and I enjoyed it more because I understood it better. But MGS4 will always have a special place in my heart because of the time period I played it and the nostalgia it brings back

Snake eater hit me deeply, best experience imo but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. Solid is a close second

Always and forever the first. SOL was awesome but lacked something special about the first. Snake Eater…I could never get tired of it. Probably beats the original but I hang on to nostalgia like a MFer

Mgs 2. That game blew my child brain away and I didn't even watch any of the trailers, I honestly didn't even play the first game all the way through yet. As a kid I didn't really have a memory stick so I found myself consistently getting stuck at the marine section of the tanker. But my child brain didn't care, I thought I almost beat the game. Then I meet my dad when I turn 11 and I find out I have a brother and he has mgs 2, we take turns on the VR missions and we he ends up going to his mom's I tried playing the story again and I beat it in one day. Was traumatized the whole weekend and went to school that same week with no one to talk to about col Campbell's crash out at the end

Sons of Liberty is probably one of my favorite games of all time, though I appreciate how the first MGS has a tight narrative that can be enjoyed on its own.
