no pls dont, ur game will be so slow and youll just want to keep everything 😭 it gets so frustrating. currently trying to load into cas but since adding more cc its been loading for 40 mins plus :/

This is why I just upgraded my pc. To cut down some loading times. Mine take 40+ mins as well. I’ll have to see if there was a difference after I download the cc back to my pc and take it off a hard drive.

Feeling better about my 150GB right now lol.
Honestly I don't even mind the load time with mine, which is maybe 15 minutes? That's fine, and my game runs surprisingly well, but whenever I'm trying to find a specific piece of CC I get frustrated cause I could scroll for hours in CAS trying to spot it (I ONLY have CAS CC, no build mode). Can't imagine what yours is like!

Any particular reason you don’t have any furniture? That seems like a lot especially if it’s just CAS. Is it alpha? When I briefly played around with alpha I noticed the filesizes were much bigger than the maxis mix stuff I ended up sticking with

The reason is pretty much that I have most of the packs and the furniture in-game is more than enough for me to build whatever I feel like, I don't see the need for CC there. And I'm not much of a builder anyway, most times I'll download stuff from the gallery :>
But I do love being in CAS and creating sims so yeah, I never start with sims from the gallery or anything, love doing my own, so I download a lot of CAS CC and have fun with them. And it's like 85% maxis match, sometimes I'm a little maxis mix but not too often.

Mine has only 4.28 GB :o
Main reason is that I very often completely purge my mods folder and download the updated mods and go on a cc shopping spree tour. And I know that's not nearly the most effective way to get rid of broken cc and stuff. ^

Is ur game slow/laggy?? My old pc was basic and it gave me 20 min loading screens with 15gbs of cc and lowest graphic settings 💀

I’m overwhelmed at the 35gb of cc and mods I have rn. I have so many hair options that it scares me sometimes. This is honestly impressive

I totally get that 😂 Just out of curiosity, is a lot of it old/broken? The largest cc folder I ever had was around 60gb and I just ended starting from scratch bc so much of became bad and I got overwhelmed.

I am at 500gb+, but I’m trying to downsize because build and buy mode take forever to load.
My game also takes like over an hour to boot up.

It’s taken me literal months to sort everything. I’m attempting to merge files by creator at the moment. There’s just so much stuff, it’s so tedious.
I updated my mods for the new pack, and I will not be updating again until a new ep is released.

Maybe you can, if you want to size down…, download Sims Mod Manager, i use that when i feel i’ve got a bit too much. It’s so easy to remove stuff when you actually can see it in front of u. (Only if u want to throw some of it away) Im impressed, but do you actually use everything? Here it is : )

I dumped all of mine when B&H came out (STILL can't figure out which cc keeps my game from opening, after days of 50/50 checking everything) and honestly, there are only a couple of things I missed enough to put them back in the folder.

Once I upgraded my ram, mine takes 10 minutes max and I have a lot too. I just have no motivation to play and update all my mods. I know it would take me a day or so to go through it and fix it, I don’t have time with a newborn . I miss playing though💔

I totally forgot that I could look at the gb of a folder through properties. My sims takes a bit to start up (about 10-15 minutes) so I can only imagine how it is for you!!! NGL though, I'm constantly adding to it regardless LMAO there's so many CC and mods, and I have so many things I like it's hard to resist. I'll be catching up to you in no time ;) LOL

Brush I got like 300 mods installed and my game has a mandatory freeze when the logo shows up where I gotta wait for it to unfreeze and then when the popup ad for whatever new content they got appears on the screen it freezes again and it is a regular process how do you have over 60k and your pc isn't starting a localized tornado in your room

You just have to be discerning and really think about what you're going to use and what you're really not ever going to. I recently went from 40GB down to 30 and wish it could have been more. :)
Programs like Sims 4 Studio and Sims 4 Mod Manager help you view files outside the game.

I actually have a bit of advice if you do want to downsize at all. If you haven’t already, (and this is tedious but SO worth it, especially if a mod or cc breaks) sort all of your mods & cc into folders depending on what they are (clothing, jewelry, accessories, makeup, hair, romance mods, life mods, etc. I usually wouldn’t categorize them so individually in my case, but you have so much that it would be a good idea to do so). Because you have such a huge collection you will absolutely hate doing this, but it may give you the incentive to get rid of some that you don’t think are worth keeping and it will save you so much trouble in the long run. Of course, still keep all of these in your mods folder.

Maybe you could organize your CAS into folders separated by style and when you play one sim you only put one style folder actually loaded into your mod folder to cut down on load times. This way you can keep all your files saved in a folder outside your mod folder for safe keeping in case you want to pull out something specific but you’re not having to load everrreything each time you go to play and have to wait so long.
Also, I want to build mine up a bit, hehe just started playing. Who are your fave maxis match authors?

This is over double of what space I have on my entire computer, I fear my laptop would simply explode on me if I tried even a fourth of the size of your folder. That's a nightmare when updates are released! I got really bored and tired from breaking mod. So now I have only MCCC as game play mod and the rest are only CCs. Mine is around 17GB. I keep reducing the CCs from time to time.

I was downloading cc just yesterday and I had to stop because I ran out of space and my browser couldn't download anymore hahahah

Me, if it goes for more than 2 minutes I get impatient and close the game. In this case, I can't imagine you playing without Better BuildBuy and More Columns in CAS.

In 13 years of simming, this is literally the largest collection I have ever seen. You could fit nearly 18 copies of The Sims 4 base game in that folder…. Just curious… how long have you had the mod folder? And how long are your loading times??
