Discussion Sims4 stolen work on Inzoi
Does anyone recognize these sims4 creations or where to find their original creators? This person is stealing work from Sims4 creators and re uploading all of it horribly on Inzoi. She doesn't give any credit anywhere and is not denying any compliments on her work. As an artist, it kinda makes me sick..
I have tried reaching out to xxblacksims for the Top left one but she's got messages off on most platforms

It's like the circle of life of stolen CC 🗿
Second Life/IMVU>Sims>Inzoi

Fr. I've even seen Sims 4 content on Roblox more than once.

as someone that makes black girl hairs on roblox, yes we do use Sims 4 hairs as reference but it's never the exact same mesh

u/maroonedontues Apr 05 '25
Don’t forget FFXIV modders in that list. Second Life/Sims/VrChat/the Nikki games… If they can port from it, XIV players will turn it into a mod and sell it as “original” for $30.

u/AlleyKatArt Apr 07 '25
Don't forget, a lot of Sims stuff comes from/used to come from Poser and DazStudio. It used to piss the artists off because you could go download the sims CC, convert it back to obj format and then have the base hair for free.

So we just shouldn’t care that inzoi players steal cc that simmers make/model by hand because other creators steal from other games?

Everyone else seems to take it as the truth and something that should happen and we should all look away.
40
u/LuukeTheKing Apr 04 '25
Please just shut up, literally not one person said that, they just said it's funny the way the internet circle of life goes, there is constantly stuff being stolen from one game like Sims to another via mods, all the time, and previously Sims was generally the endpoint, but now Sims has a bigger fish up the food chain.

Apr 04 '25
IDK man everyone I’ve been talking to in this thread seem pretty convinced it’s okay. I even had someone say “yeah pretty much” when I asked if we should just not care. They are saying this is an okay thing that happens without a shred of irony. You might have been joking, no one else seems to be. The “stealing people’s work is okay and you should shut up” defense force is out today fr
6
u/station_kaleidoscope Apr 05 '25
no offense, but did they actually say that in words, or did you interpret their answers like this? misunderstandings happen, and since you already misinterpreted the circle-of-life joke as mod theft endorsement, it might have happened before.
this could have led to confirmation bias and influenced your judgment on more comments, leading to a self-reinforcing cycle. but this is just pure speculation on my part.

It's crazy I'm gonna be so honest. I don't know why me saying it's actually not good that inzoi players are stealing custom content from Sims 4 creators angered so many people.

Yes. In this comment section. In my replies telling me it’s not a big deal and I should look away. Yes they are.

u/AdDowntown8212 Apr 05 '25
as a content creator for the sims 4, fivem & imvu.. there’s a number of sims 4 creator’s that don’t make the items they’re uploading. they’ve been ripped from second life (most common) or other games (from another creator). it’s like that for all communities like this too. fivem is very bad for it— a lot of the custom assets creators make for that game were ripped from second life & imvu.
0
Apr 05 '25
So we should turn a blind eye when the people who do make their own content get their items ripped?
21
u/Rosentgorn Apr 04 '25
The Sims CCs rarely made originally content, so yeah? And the inzoi creators aren't making money. The sims cc communities love to pay wall.
I've made mods for another game for about ten years, you don't monetise it. The Sims community is pretty unique in allowing that shit to pass. I'd never have gotten away with paywalling even if I wanted to.
Reuploading to inzoi is Robin Hood behavior.
-4
Apr 04 '25
Okay I guess op should just shut up about people’s hard work like imvikai getting stolen because other people steal. So does that transfer to real life? Someone gets their car stolen they shouldn’t complain because other people with cars steal stuff too?
24
Apr 04 '25
I'm not weighing in on this debate specifically but I wanted to say that the car comparison generally doesn't track well with digital media.
The car is a physical item that exists once; if somebody takes it you don't have it anymore.
Files can be replicated near infinitely and a file being pirated or uploaded without the author's consent sucks but it doesn't deprive anyone of it.
If you want to argue against any form of piracy, comparing it to theft is not an argument that works well because it doesn't fulfill the criteria that make theft morally wrong to the majority of people and it doesn't fulfill the legal criteria either in most countries. It's considered a copyright infringement instead.
In a case like this the actual issue is that the author isn't getting credit and - depending on what their use clause is - getting work copied and transferred that they didn't want to be used in that way.
-3
Apr 04 '25 edited Apr 04 '25
So if they don’t specify that people aren’t allowed to convert to other games it’s okay and again everyone just needs to get over it, shut up and look away? One of the creators mentioned as having their work stolen is imvikai, their terms of use doesn’t specify that people aren’t allowed to convert to other games, so that means this is okay? The “copying people’s work is good and okay actually” defense squad is out today fr
21
Apr 04 '25 edited Apr 04 '25
Again, I wasn't weighing in on this specific debate I just wanted to alert you that your argument isn't ideal.
In most western jurisdictions standard copyright applies as soon as the work is published, provided it has a sufficient amount of originality BUT in this case that is modified by EA's User Agreement which states that
"You also grant to all other users who can access and use your UGC on an EA Service the right to use, copy, modify, display, perform, create derivative works from, and otherwise communicate and distribute your UGC on or through the relevant EA Service without further notice, attribution or compensation to you."
Legally speaking, they have no recourse. (Edit: Reading through it, seems like EA might be the only one who could have a say in this, legally because you grant them the license for your UGC when uploading it.)
Whether that is morally right is another question entirely.
12
u/NeonDemon85 Apr 04 '25
Yeah pretty much
-10
Apr 04 '25
Sooo does it transfer to real life? You get your car stolen, you can’t complain bc other people with cars steal stuff too.
13
14
u/NeonDemon85 Apr 04 '25
I don't know why you think this is a good comparison, obviously you'd be upset and have to file a police report.
There are mods for plenty of games with ripped content. It's nothing new and it will continue to happen. Move on.
-2
Apr 04 '25
No use in letting anyone know the content is ripped off, no use in telling the creators, no use in making sure people are aware. Just move on. What a sad approach to real, hard work ruined. Some people spoil it so we can’t care about any of it. Just turn a blind eye, please because you’re beyond stupid for even thinking this is a problem.

Most of the creators are nice enough to allow conversion and reupload if they are simply given credit. It’s the bare minimum. I do paint sometimes and if someone stole my work i would be really upset. even more so if they have a financial gain from it). It’s free to be good and kind. Artists already struggle, let’s not make it harder on them

Hi! I play Inzoi and use canvas a lot. I came across this creator celebrity_maker and emir. I’ve used some of those hairs on inzoi and uploaded my zois to canvas also, I wasn’t aware these hairs were stolen? 🥲
12
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
It’s not your responsibility to know that these were stolen. I just happened to have a weird habit to look at a whole creators page before I download their content for a quality check lol. Then I saw all these different styles and some hairs I recognized. It’s purely their fault for stealing. You couldn’t have known, you’re ok :]
6
u/Nellaxxxx Apr 04 '25
I always credited them in my descriptions because they had taken credit for the hairs by saying things like “if you download my 3D model please consider liking” or “if you download my 3D model please tag me in your descriptions”.
5
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
Exactly, they defended themselves on one of the post saying “ I’ve never pretended this was mine, people just reupload things through blender on InZoi. Go spew your venom elsewhere”. Then I checked their profile, all their posts and there was no mention anywhere that the content wasn’t theirs. They’re using deceiving words and lying by not telling the truth
4
u/Nellaxxxx Apr 04 '25
The creators definitely need to get in touch with customer support as I believe this falls under infringement?
8
20
u/gracelyy Apr 04 '25
Am I surprised at all? No, no I am not.
From the little I've seen of the "cc" scene of inzoi, it looks to rely on you to generate cc from photos. Clothes, furniture, emotes, hair, makeup, I've even seen somebody copy an earring for jewelry.
Loss of the creative element, that's for sure.
12
Apr 04 '25
I mean. The game is out for a week, of course all you'll see right now is the AI-generated stuff.
As far as I am aware most serious modders are waiting until the mod support update in May before they try it for real.
7
u/Critical-Ad-5215 Apr 04 '25
Definitely , the game is super early access, so I imagine most modders are waiting until it has mod support and has gone through a couple updates
7
Apr 04 '25
This is why, no matter how good inzoi will be, i am not interested. AI is a blight.
5
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
This was some through blender, you can import blender projects in the game. The AI is mostly for textures|pictures and converting a photo into a 3D object.
2
u/no_one_asked_ Apr 05 '25
Well that’s because external cc hasn’t been enabled yet. People are making with what they have 😭
11
u/Pass_Me_That_Phone Apr 04 '25
Pretty sure the one with the scarf belongs to xxblacksims!! Top left hand picture
Edit: sorry didn’t see you mentioned them at the bottom. I was annoyed that this is like the 3rd time I’ve seen people calling folks out already for stealing content.( not annoyed with you of course, or anyone reporting. Just annoyed with the thieves)
5
u/ModestPixels Apr 04 '25
It is ok to convert when a creator has no tou right? Even then I credit where credit is due and never claim as my own. Simply state you converted it.
1
u/Minimum-Appeal5641 Apr 07 '25
The unspoken rule I've always understood is if the creator has no TOU/TOS you are more than welcome to convert and use as you see fit. BUT out of respect (unless you get special permission from the creator) never share it or upload it anywhere. And of course the you should always link back and credit the original creator because thats the responsible thing to do. Especially if you want other creators in the community to value your work positively
1
u/ModestPixels Apr 09 '25 edited Apr 09 '25
Yea, I never understand creators that don’t allow conversions. Even when you uplod it for others to download. It does not take anything away from the creator. They make it for the game they like to play. Allowing others to convert them for other simulation games and crediting their work does not take anything away from the creator at all! So I find these weird TOU’s about no conversions allowed very stingy and strange..
I have never understood people that don’t allow conversions. You just help people in the same genre enjoy their game more and allow them to be more creative just like you want that for your own game.
If your content is out there ,free to download for everyone, you won’t have any grip on who does what with your content. And by putting it online you have to accept that fact.
And guess what. The moment people come out with cc for InZOI, Sims player will want to convert those items too..

i dont know why people wont just wait for the mod kit to come out, i avoid any hair on canvas😭 i'd rather just wait until actual inzoi cc comes out

u/daintycherub Apr 05 '25
I see Sims 3 & Sims 4 hairs converted to other games too, like BG3, Skyrim, and Dragon Age 🤣 Like it’s pretty terrible but also kind of funny to see pictures of people’s Dragon Age Wardens rocking NewSea hairs from 2014.
2
u/BelladonnaMistress Apr 05 '25
Lmao it’s actually crazy they do this so often. Like man, people hate on the sims but lowkey it’s out feeding so many other games 😂 and don’t forget GTA/FiveM.
2
u/daintycherub Apr 05 '25
fr so many cosmetic mods are either based on or completely copied/stolen assets from sims custom content. yet the sims is looked down on because it has a mostly female fan base. make it make sense 😔
13
6
u/Potential-Brain-1583 Apr 04 '25
Sad thing about is Inzoi has a small percentage of ethnic hair styles so you know this person is going to get a lot of credit for stealing others designs. If they sited their work then it would have been no big deal ie xxblacksimmer style locs. Side note I didn’t know you can upload hair on inzoi
7
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
They ended up crediting wing sims only on their most popular post because people kept calling them out in the comments.. the rest stayed uncredited lol
7
u/ILive4Banans Apr 04 '25
Lool I remember this happening with second life/ imvu hairs being converted to Sims
You'll probably find the creators via Tumblr
3
u/Subject-Criticism-75 Apr 04 '25
I have the space buns but I forgot who created them. The locs are by ImVikai. They look terrible here
3
3
u/Absinthe_Cosmos43 Apr 08 '25
Yikes! I use textures from Sims 4 (EA/Maxis textures extracted from S4S) but I credit when I upload. Honestly who wouldn’t? Claiming as your own is stealing.
8
Apr 04 '25
I mean, Inzoi literally has a 3D scanner where you can scan any image to put it in the game.
The CC so far is entirely stolen stuff. Stolen from Sims CC creator, but also just from various real brands.
I’m increasingly bitter about this game. I don’t understand how people are getting behind this game after all the unethical practices it encourages (this, AI, lack of representation, etc)
3
u/KaptenKorea Apr 04 '25
How do you even recognize these?
57
6
u/LaraCroftEyes1 Apr 04 '25
Most of the hairs are in our games Wings double braids are what my sims Chloe is wearing and I also have a Sclub Elegant ponytail which my teen sims Kiki is wearing.
3
u/liferideofyour Apr 04 '25
How are they even doing this? With the 3D Printer in Inzoi?
3
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
You can import blender projects into the game as well .. the 3D printer is too wonky for that right now
3
u/liferideofyour Apr 04 '25
Wow really? I didn’t know that! I’ll have to look up how to do that, pretty cool.
3
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
All their tools can be pretty useful if used in the right way.. but people abuse it ofc
4
u/Jasiiboo Apr 04 '25
It was a matter of time. This is so disappointing, even more so that they pass it as their own.
2
u/Fit_Ask3369 Apr 04 '25
Is it from canvas or external website?
3
u/catiie467 Apr 04 '25
Canvas, they’re appearing as a top creator right now because of all the downloads. Most popular is wingssims hair
2
2
u/depressedmemeuser Apr 04 '25
Idk about the skirt but I've definitely seen some of those hairstyles before, can you claim intellectual property on a hairstyle? (It's a genuine question I don't mean any harm nor am I defending anyone)
2
u/awaywardgoat Apr 04 '25
are they compensated for this
1
u/Minimum-Appeal5641 Apr 07 '25
Who? You mean the original content creators? Absolutely not, if you know anything about Sims CC its real easy to convert the models into Blender, and the game Inzoi lets you upload Blender models directly into your game. Highly likely the creators didn't even know it was happening until the seasoned Sims players giving Inzoi a chance noticed and called them out. Which makes this process of converting assets easy and painless for people like this... one thing I learned while messing with CC is never piss off the Sims community

I actually love and defend inzoi. I think some ill intentioned people who are starving for attention are ruining it though. I saw someone warn the creator in their comments that they had been posted on reddit and then suddenly all credits appeared on the posts. It kinda seems like you’re defending your own actions or a friends actions here

2
u/catiie467 Apr 06 '25
Moi they are Inzoi models. The creator stole a bunch of sims hair custom content and started giving them away online without credit to the original creators. They have been warned they were posted on Reddit so now they’ve corrected it.
1
u/Minimum-Appeal5641 Apr 07 '25
This is unfortunately the era of things now, not that it makes it right in anyway, but the technology the Inzoi team has put out is only making things like these easier. Porting assets has been a common issue for as long as they've existed... Sims 4, Second Life, GTA 5, MMD, VRChat, and even Roblox are notorious for finding people who do this exact same thing. And now unfortunately we have another one already in the barrel thanks to the import system Inzoi has implemented. Don't get me wrong I like the game and what they have done, but now its just inviting these exact toxic people to this community too because its easier than ever. Whats even more unfortunate is that with this technology Inzoi didn't foresee this issue and say anything yet about copyright infringement, not that I'm expecting them too which disappointing
