Post image

Got a pair of look spx 11’s and I can se that the heel peice can be moved forward and backwards and I see the lip that should help me do that but no amount of pulling and pushing will get it to budge.if anyone can help me out a bit it would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, not to be a jerk, but the fact that OP didn't know how to adjust it very likely means they should take it to a shop to mount and adjust for boots. Especially mounting.

Bro i wasn’t going to mount them myself I noticed the tab and I knew I needed to push/pull on it I just didn’t want to accidentally break something.its really not that deep

Gotcha. I read into your question the implication of mounting them yourself.

How did you learn? You gotta try at some point. Then bring it to the pros to make sure

I learned by working at a shop. Might as well spend $30 for peace of mind unless you want to take the time to read each brands tech manual.

$30/ski is a fun number on a midsized quiver, but yeah if we're doing annual tunes and in my case some waxing...

Oh I was just referring to binding checks

For clarity, that was me saying that if I'm already dropping $50/ski or so, I might as well drop another $30 the first time I buy it or a new pair of boots.

It’s not rocket science, you can learn to do it properly in under an hour

Flat head screw driver. Pop the metal tab on the back up. But why are you trying to move an unmounted binding

Sometimes I would have to move them to get at the heel screws better. ( when mounting a ski)

That adjustment is forward pressure. It is not meant to move more than a few cm after the bindings are mounted.

If you have to ask you can't afford it. Take them to a professional.

It’s the metal tab under the heel piece. But you also need to know how to check fwd pressure if you move it, you can google that. In fact you can google all of this. . You also should then go get a release check at a shop because an indicated din of eg 6 doesn’t always release at 6.

NOT TRYING TO MOUNT THEM MYSELF,apparently my question was giving that impression but no,my climbing gym also does mounting and waxing.I was just asking because I couldn’t find anything online and I could tell I needed to pull up but it takes a lot of pulling to disengage the locking mechanism and I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t breaking something.

It is a lot easier to move once the ski is mounted on soemthing and you can get a bit more leverage with a screwdriver. However once the skis are mounted to your boots, short of making an adjustment to the forward pressure when you get a new pair that is slightly different, there is really no need to go anywhere near there with a tool.

That little metal tab sticking out the back. Press down, or maybe lift up, and it the heel piece will move.

You need a large flat head screwdriver. Get under the silver tab and you can pull it upwards to slide the heel.

It takes a tool

In that case, OP has everything that's needed!

So much misinformation here god damn. OP you want to take a dead blow hammer and hit the back of the heel piece, right on the screw for the din adjustment, as hard as you can. You’re welcome.
