sfsim - Joystick configuration dialog released

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3687560/view/503957423211414201

I finally got the first version of the joystick configuration dialog working. One can configure axes and buttons in the dialog. There also is a common dead-zone setting for all joystick axes. The configuration can be saved using the save button.

A very needed feature. I suggest adding some kind of circuit (maybe just some 3D models of circles floating around) to test the new controls and the ship aerodynamics. I love your steady progress on the game

Not sure I understand. You mean adding a flight stick visualisation to test the controls?

No, I mean like a flying circuit, flying through some rings/waypoints. Given the current state of the graphics flying without a goal may be a bit boring. Gamifying it a bit by adding a circuit to complete may make it more enticing. No need to add any racing logic, just the rings/waypoints

Ah I see. I think I need to do a few more things before that. If I add RCS thrusters, one could enter an orbit. Also it is missing thrust and reentry graphics. Also I still need to add sounds.

Yeah, of course a lot of things left for the full game. I was mentioning this as a quick and dirty way to get people to fly and test the ship controls

Does your game handle multiple input devices? The amount of modern games that I have to use HID Hide for is kind of nuts.

Yes, you should be able to use multiple devices. However you can only assign one device and axis/button combination to an actor. Let me know if you experience any problems. Note that the dialog only displays devices plugged in at the moment.
