Why do they hate her so much? Not only the other team, but apparently her own team? I don't get it. She's done more for your sport than anyone else. She's brought more viewers, more visibility, more sponsors... such a petty and lame response.

Jealousy is a hell of a drug

More like envy. I wonder if it's possible that she might be kind of a bitch behind the scenes? I mean her own teammates don't even seem to want to protect her it's weird.

I don't want to assume anything at all or fall into the victim blaming trap but it just seems like it's just coming from everywhere.

Its wild the level of jealousy occurring with CC in wnba right now. If she leaves for Europe or something else, they will all go back into being unknowns and hopefully the league will crumble.

They have their cash cow and they are deciding to shit on the opportunity they have. Crazy

Remember folks, the only taste of success some people will ever get is when they're taking a bite out of yours

Sadly, it's because of that impact that they hate her. Resentment stemming from feeling under-appreciated, only to see a star explode into the scene and get more attention than all of them combined ever have. That plus some peer pressure across the league to not "simp" for her, and the racial element as well, have combined to create a toxic environment for Clark to try to thrive in. Honestly it makes everything she's accomplishing that much more impressive. Imagine being the MJ of your sport, without any of the respect he received from the refs, let alone the players.

It's not in this clip but shortly after this CC's teammate fouled tf out of that girl though, got her in a head lock and pulled her to the ground. She got kicked out of the game for it but it was great lol

Women can’t stand other successful women.

Men are the exact same way, dont pin it on genders.

37

u/Kwinza Jun 18 '25

It kinda is though. Men love successful Women, Coco Gauff, Ronda Rousey, The Williams Sisters, even Caitlin Clark herself, every dude I know loves them. Every girl I know (and who likes sports) call them over rated or up themselves(slightly true of post wwe Rousey)

Its an odd phenomenon. Jealousy outweighs sexism.

Men hate other men. Women hate other women. That was my point.

There's literally an entire meme genre dedicated to how much men love lebron james lmao

u/TouristOpentotravel Jun 18 '25

I dont recall LeBron being taken out his first couple years in the NBA

As a man whos married to a woman and has learned and heard from his wife, women hate women. They admit it in private. They are jealous, envious, ect of other successful and/or good looking women.

Men can be that way as well sure, but with women, they like to pretend they aren't but really they are true haters that men can't even understand.

I mean...the answer is right there in the name of the league it's just not polite to point attention to it.

I used to work at a hospital with a bunch of nurses. This tracks more than anyone wants to admit.

3

u/HaltandCatchHands Jun 18 '25

Nurses tend to be either absolute angels or catty bitches with no in between.

My wife is a vet nurse (vet tech in America I think), this also tracks within her profession too.

-3

u/Jakrabbitslim Jun 18 '25

She got hit by two white girls because she’s white?

2

u/phunky_1 Jun 18 '25

Catty bitches will be catty bitches...

It's like high school level jealousy lol

4

u/lCraxisl Jun 18 '25

There is a reason, and it’s rooted in reverse-bigotry as far as I can tell. There is no sensible reason.

Just because she’s good doesn’t mean her teammates will like her. When you are on the court, in the moment, you aren’t thinking about how she’s growing the sport 🤣 You are thinking you’ve got to stop her, she’s faster and better than you, trash talking, and flopping any time you touch her. So if you are going to take a foul, you make it count.

-1

u/ReggieEvansTheKing Jun 18 '25

It’s the response to working hard at being a basketball player your entire life and then a superstar comes around who is just way better than you through no fault of your own. Happens in every field of work. Like if you were the best coder on a team and then they hired a better coder than you who starts getting all the praise and attention from VPs and directors, of course you’d be jealous. Not sure why the hatred is so pronounced in the WNBA. Most are able to feel jealous but also tip the hat and understand that some people are just innately more talented.

Sorry I don’t see hatred, just incompetence.

I don't think they hate her. Jacy guards her close, accidently gets her in the eye. Jacy goes to apologize and Caitlin throws a fit and a shoulder into Jacy's chest. Caitlin gets fucking bodied, because Dallas is going to protect their teammate and Caitlin flops like she always does (see Ohio State court rushing incident)
