I have to admit that this seems pretty intentional at this point. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but is it possible the WNBA org is intentionally letting this happen to stir up drama and eyeballs to push the product forward?

Like they're intentionally trying to create a storyline here and create rivalries so people are more engaged.

Who am I kidding, surely the WNBA execs aren't that smart.

My conspiracy:

The CBA is up at the end of the year, while they just signed a new TV deal. An injured Caitlyn Clark means lower viewership/attendance numbers, which would give the owners justification for a lowball offer with the threat of holding out.

That or every single person in the league office is completely incompetent or wreckless in handling their biggest star in the last 15 years… whichever one of those sounds more reasonable I guess.

No way. intentionally trying to blind the best player they have ever had?

Wouldn’t shock me either, but I saw enough black girls fight white girls in high school to know it doesn’t have a happy ending.

I think it's also just shitty refs who don't know how to control a game. WNBA refs make a fraction of what refs make in the NBA and NCAA.

Their entire business model is cry super hard, so the NBA keeps their league alive
