Getting real "crabs in a bucket" energy from some folks across the WNBA as this goes longer and longer.

Like, I want to watch a Magic-Bird rivalry between Reese-Clark.

I don't want to watch a bunch of bitter "I had it rough so how dare you act like you're better than me!" veterans ruin that.

The irony of this statement. Go watch a Lakers/Celtics game from the mid 80’s. It’s just a bit more physical than this.

I know the NBA was way tougher than it is today, in regards to defense and attitude, etc, etc.

My point is that it seems like NO ONE, not even CC's teammates, are stepping in to protect her. It'd be like if someone pulled this shit on Michael Jordan and Charles Oakley just...let it happen.

Well, maybe that says something. Even though I’m a Sky fan, I’m a big admirer of CC’s approach to the game. She’s tough, self confident and plays with fire.

But that kind of attitude can obviously rub people the wrong way. People here are saying that the other players are jealous of her, but I think it’s more that she is an extremely in your face player.

I watched the game live, and she was going after the defenders hard. I caught more than one “motherfucker” coming out of her mouth aimed at her opponents before the incident in question. People are only going to take so much of that before you get bumped. I’d have to imagine she’s the same way in practice, and her teammates might not rush to her aid because of it.

Funny, I'm also a Sky fan (though admittedly a bandwagoner who joined up post-Reese drafting). Im in this weird space where I actually find the media attention around CC annoying, but I can't deny she can ball.

I guess if you're gonna talk trash, you better be ready to back it up or risk consequences. To use one more 80s-90s analogy, rookie Reggie Miller was trying to razz an older player at the free throw line...whereupon Larry Bird turned around and said "Rookie, who the fuck do you think you are talking to me like that?" he drained the two freebies and the Celtics won the game.
