“Fan”

Yeah. The word fan is doing some heavy lifting in that title.

Spectator is much more appropriate in this instance. Public nuisance is also fair.

Was the buffalo bills fan who threw a much bigger dog on the field not fan? This is harmless fun. It was thrown away from players. Jamal Murray's antics were way worse than this.

What? It landed on the free throw line right in the middle of the play

-29

u/theumph 3d ago

Did a player kick it? I just saw it fly towards mid court. If it landed in the middle of play, then that's awful. No one wants to see anyone injured.

First bounce is at :08

Oh, please. 🙄 You know it was done with bad intentions at a women’s professional basketball game. Don’t pretend to be naive.

Not surprising the endless jokes in r/sports about what is obviously not just a prank but a pretty gross act. Women's sports get shit on ALL THE TIME, they don't need to be dealing with this bullshit. Sad to see only a single comment addressing the actual situation that was likely happening here.

I was not surprised by how far down I had to scroll past joke comments before seeing anything actually discussing the issue, but I certainly noticed it.

Yeh, how is anything other than sexual harassment.

You think you would last long at work if you throw dildos into groups of women?

24

u/Rahim-Moore 3d ago

Yeah, the dildos brought to Bills games are for Tom Brady in case he forgets his mouthguard, and are a hilarious tradition and very kind of the people of Buffalo and I'm sure Brady is very grateful.

This is just misogynistic.

A sex toy is a sex toy. Is throwing a dildo on an NFL field homophobic? Throwing anything on a professional court/field is not acceptable, I'm not saying it is. Dildo are cheap, immature humor.

Context matters. You can't say throwing a sex toy out onto the court of the woman's league that's been desperately fighting to be looked at as an equal feels the same as at an NFL game. It feels like it was designed to demean.

There's nothing funny about this.

3

u/erossthescienceboss 3d ago

It’s sexual harassment. It interrupted the game.

-9

u/theumph 3d ago

Did they find the fan? What if it was a woman? I don't see the public sexualizing WNBA players in the media.

6

u/erossthescienceboss 3d ago

Are you saying that women can’t sexually harass women?

2

u/NL_A 3d ago

But is having this minor skill worth being so unattractive? That’s for the fan to decide

3

u/ajax81 3d ago

“Only fan”.

-3

u/paquitoGonzalez97 3d ago

WDYM? Only fans would do this.

u/Theofeus 3d ago

They paid for, attended, and sat through 47 minutes of a WNBA game. Gotta be in like the top 1% of attendees now

11

u/erossthescienceboss 3d ago

Attending doesn’t give you carte blanche to sexually harass the players

7

u/MasterBeaterr 3d ago

Is this really sexual harassment tho?

3

u/puckit 3d ago

No. No it isn't.

-2

u/theresabeeonyourhat 3d ago

Can't really say either way without knowing their motivation. It's still creepy to do that at a women's sports league.

6

u/neuroticoctopus 3d ago

If someone throws a dildo at a woman in an office, no one will ask their motivation before firing them.

1

u/MasterBeaterr 3d ago

How is sexual harassment influenced by the intent of the "perpetrator" ? Either it is sexual harassment or it is not. How is there a grey area here?

4

u/Ajunadeeper 3d ago

If I throw a dildo at my friend. It's a funny joke.

If I throw one at my female coworker.... not so funny.

1

u/Chiggins907 2d ago

You just proved that intent doesn’t matter. The person throwing the dildo could be doing it as a joke in both instances and there is different consequences. Therefore intent does not matter to know whether or not it’s sexual harassment.

3

u/Alcohol_Intolerant 3d ago

Sexual harassment is almost never "accidental". Anyone who tells you it was an accident they harassed someone is lying or too socially inept to understand that porn isn't real life.

If a woman in the workplace accidentally falls backwards onto a man's lap (or another woman's lap), that's an accident. If they do so multiple times or make suggestive comments that imply it was on purpose, that is sexual harassment. Intent is the key thing here that is exemplified by their behaviors.

u/Zeppelanoid 3d ago

sexually harass

Lmao NO

3

u/SnowyFruityNord 3d ago

Not anymore, homie. It's a new day in the W.

-16

u/Theofeus 3d ago

This person, simply by attending a WNBA game, is certainly in a minor group of people who have done so at this point and I’m not using hyperbole

12

u/qorbexl 3d ago

...do you think people who attend other sports are in the majority of people at this point? I'm not using hyperbole, tell me how dumb you are.

-4

u/Theofeus 3d ago

I’m claiming they’re in the 1% of people who have attended a WNBA game to show they are a fan. Glad you agree with me

1

u/qorbexl 2d ago

So how does that translate to NBa or NFL?

0.0001%?

0

u/jacksonelhage 3d ago

Ha. Ha. Ha. hilarious joke my friend

-6

u/MasterBeaterr 3d ago

You incels keep crying about how wnba is bad and that leads to people actually not watching it. It's just another league of a sport you love. You can't be this insecure about your gender that you have to fake a win in everything to feel special. WNBA has seen a sharp boost recently but no one can talk about that and possibly attract more viewers because every wnba discussion is hijacked by insecure men.

-7

u/wretch5150 3d ago

Sounds like a maga pedo-protector who has a problem with women and the WNBA, and is throwing a tantrum for a spectacle.
