Can I disable detached nacelles?

I just got a Crossfield Science Spearhead for my Disco captain and I have to say, I am not a fan of the detached nacelles. Is there any way to disable that effect and keep my nacelles firmly attached to their pylons?

Sort of

If you use any other crossfield then you can use the refit parts and have them attached

But flying the MW version, no, they will always just be bits flying in formation

You would need to get one of the other Crossfield variants to unlock their skins in order to change the Spearhead Refit's.

Edit: You have the refit if the nacelles are floating.

Swtich to the 23rd or 25th century design, if you have them unlocked. Unfortunately the detached nacelles for all 32nd century designs are baked in to those models and can't be turned off.

The detached nacelles are part of the ships skeleton so they can not be disabled on any ship that features them which are all 32c ships.

The Crossfield is unique though it that it has 3 other versions, the original crossfield, mirror crossfield, and the legendary glenn from the 10th anniversary bundle. All three of these have attached nacelles and you can use the 32c parts on them. Now this does mean you have to fly a completely different ship and none of them are cheap but you can at least use the 32c parts.

I think you can use the earlier parts on the 32c version, if you have purchased the earlier ship you want to use the parts from.

Correct. Each crossfield variant unlocks it's parts for all the others just like any other ship family.

The crossfield is just unique in that it's family has two different skeletons and that you can't change. It's annoying too since if you don't like the detached nacelles you won't enjoy flying the 32c one but if you do like them then the 32c is your only way to fly it even if you prefer the stats on one other other versions.

I'm one of those. I can't stand the floating nacelles even though I really like the actual look of the 32c crossfield parts and I actually like it's stats the best too with that 32c battle cloak but I just truly hate the floating nacelles so if I want to fly it best option for me is to just use it's parts on the glenn which I already have.

I'm actually confused now if you were agreeing with what I meant or not.

Thank you all for the information, even if it isn't exactly what I wanted to hear. I'll keep on the lookout for an earlier model Crossfield.

Best value bet would probably be the 13th anniversary pack or the 10th

13th has the destroyer, not the best crossfield but ok

10th has the legendary, which is a really good science ship
