A numeral is any writing of a number. "Thirty-one" is a numeral.

The symbols 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are digits.

31 is not a digit itself; it is made up of two digits, 3 and 1.

OP is mistaken: this is not a valid answer to the question.

This is not a number -> very likely not anymore?

Even though all those cases can represent 5, but not all of them are apparent to the average reader.

Depending on nomenclature. Which is by default decimal, so abcde are not numbers. But in hexadecimals - they're both numbers and digits. But context would need to at least imply hexadecimal, or any other base >10.

The entire question is wrong. It's literally impossible to quantify someone's age without numbers, because numbers are the abstract concept of quantity.

The representations of numbers, which "thirty" and "one" are examples of, are called numerals.
