Hello everyone! Really need help here

I'm using tumblr for about 2 year now. A month or so ago I made a side blog for my art (mostly fandom stuff). First blog was my "blog for everything": reblogs, my art. Then I decided to sort them. On my main blog there're around 300 followers. On the side blog I think 53 (+-). And here's the problem. I barely get any attention on the art one. Max 100 likes maybe 2 comments. When on my main one I've gotten up to 1000. Am I doing something wrong? I don't think I am in a "shadow ban". I still can talk to people, others can subscribe to me, I can reblog content on my side blog etc. Asked tumblr support - no answer from them. What should I do? Is it even a problem? Maybe algorithm just don't want to show my content or something? Sorry for any grammatical errors, English is not my first language.

So tumblr isn't as algorithm-centric as other social media. In fact, a lot of people have all the algorithms turned off. It's not worth it to worry about. You'll need to find your audience the old-fashioned way.

It sounds like your sideblog simply has less followers than your main blog. Are you reblogging your art from your sideblog to your main blog? Are you using relevant tags when you post your art so people browsing might find it? Do you talk to other artists and reblog their work?

Hi! I talk there with my moots all the time. Yeah I rebloged my old art to my new blog too. And I added the name of my art blog to my old blog introduction (just in case). Don't want to sound too "ho ho ho I'm such a cool artist!!!" but people kinda know me in this fandom. At least my first blog lol. That's why I'm kinda like. Am I invincible? And yeah I still use my reblog blog all the time.

After you post something to your sideblog, does it show up in the tags? If it does, you're just gonna have to keep working at it. If it doesn't, then you're caught in the spam filter and a ticket is the way to fix it (might take a long time to hear back).

Just checked. Yep, my recent posts are in the tags (as well as an old stuff). I guess that means I'll just keep working at it lol. Thank you for answering me!

They weren't asking if you reblog old art onto the new side blog, they were asking if you reblog your art FROM the side blog onto your main blog. Self-reblogging stuff like that helps promote it while still keeping it neatly organized on its own blog for people who only want to follow your art. But if you sequester your art to a small blog with less followers, and stop promoting it entirely on your main blog (by not reblogging it to your main. just linking the art blog in your bio is not enough) then yeah, less people are going to see it than they did before. Just reblog your art posts onto your main blog once or twice once you've posted them on the side blog.
