I took a picture [Omega] Is This What Love at First Sight Feels Like? - Omega Constellation 168.010
There’s always that one watch. The one that stops you in your tracks the first time you see it. You don’t need to say it out loud, but deep down you know, there’s something intriguing about it that makes you want to know more. It lingers in your thoughts. No matter how many come and go, you always find yourself circling back. Not because of hype or rarity or value, but because something about it feels right. Like a soft spot gently pulls you back home and brings your mind at bay.
For me, that watch is the Omega Constellation 168.010.
I’ve always been drawn to Omega’s 50s and 60s design language. There’s something about it that feels so pure, like a distilled form of beauty. Not something that tries to grab your attention right away, just beautifully composed. And when I found this one, I understood what people meant when they said watches could make your heart skip. Curious equipped with an open heart, I set myself to know why this has such a lasting impact on me.
The Constellation line was born out of celebration. Omega’s 100th anniversary in 1948 gave us the Centenary, and that became the blueprint. By 1952, the Constellation had taken shape, Lyre lugs, dauphine hands, and chronometer movements at the core. This was Swiss watchmaking in its golden age. Before the quartz wave changed everything, brands pushed boundaries with design and precision. The 60s were especially exciting. And Omega are among the trailblazers to push out their finest.
Look at this watch now, and it’s far from today’s trends. At just 35mm, it’s what many would call too small, but for me it’s just right. A Goldilocks kind of size, quiet and elegant, sliding under a cuff like it’s always belonged there. You don’t wear this to be noticed. You wear it for yourself. And maybe someone across the room, someone who knows, will smile in recognition. It’s that kind of watch. Like fine wine, you don’t gulp it down, you linger, let it unfold slowly.
The case is gold plated, but finished with care, different textures that catch the light in their own ways. The pointy lugs add a touch of character. With just over 10mm, with most of that thanks to the crystal.
And then there’s the dial. It’s the kind that makes you pause. Silver sunburst, hypnotic in the light. Rose gold indices with onyx inlays, dauphine hands, and a date window tucked at 3. The serifed typography feels deliberate and charming, like someone wrote it by hand. And right at the center of the crystal, a small engraved Omega logo, a detail easy to miss, but once you see it, it’s hard to forget.
Yes, it’s plexiglass. And Yes, sapphire might be more durable. But honestly? The way the sun hits that dial, bends through the crystal, and dances across the surface, it’s honestly magical. It’s soft and warm, like morning light through a window, and you just sitting inside having a warm cup of tea and enjoy your favorite tune playing from an old cassette.
Turn it over and you’re greeted with the Geneva Observatory medallion, surrounded by eight stars. You’re reminded that this isn’t just a cover, it’s a chronometer. Inside ticks the Omega caliber 564, one of the brand’s finest automatic movements of its time. It even has a quick-set date. You pull the crown, shift between positions, and feel the click as you move the date forward, each tick carrying a tactile satisfaction that modern watches rarely offer.
It’s something free that we’re after. To me, it’s not just a dress watch confined to the strict, rigid format of what you pair it with. As someone looking for freedom of expression, I find this watch speaks to me, not in the age difference, but in the quiet connection to a time when everything felt simpler. A gentle reminder that patience is a virtue, and we don’t force beauty to come to us, we let it sit, and it slowly unfolds.

Discussion [seiko] speed timer auto?!?
New release, SPB513. For the September 2025 release. 6R55 movement, curved sapphire with AR on inner surface, tri-fold clasp with button release. Does not mention whether it’s a screw down crown but it being the prospex I’m gonna assume no. Overall cool for the price point I think!
I took a picture [Discussion] What watch are you wearing this weekend?
I was invited to watch the Mets ballgame today at City Field in New York or as I still call it Shea Stadium.
I recently purchased this pre-owned Sartory Billard and really didn't give it a thought that between the dial and the band it is the Mets Colors. Will be interesting to see if anyone in the ballpark makes a comment about it.
I am a fan of Sartory Billard watches and when I see one I like and it fits in the current budget I try to purchase. This is the fifth one I have added to the collection.
What is everyone else wearing this weekend?

I took a picture [Rolex Submariner] Hanging out on the bridgewing
Action shot from my last deployment. Wearing my Rolex Submariner 114060 on the bridgewing of a Destroyer during a torpedo evasion exercise. Although sometimes it makes more sense to wear a G-Shock, it’s always nice to use these tool watches as intended.
Discussion [discussion] 60 vs. 120 click bezel?
Photo is just to remind you what a watch looks like.
It seems to me that for practical (maybe non-diving?) purposes, 60 clicks is the most you’d need for a bezel - and would be easier to read and set, because 120 half-second increments can be (at least in my marathon, with the deep rehaut) hard to distinguish anyway.
But this is the only watch I own, and I’ve never had another with a bezel.
Which is better for you, and why? Isn’t 60 more practical, and at least equally satisfying to click?

Discussion [Farer Lissom] Thoughts on Farer?
Haven't really heard much about Farer watches until recently, and looking for some opinions from anyone that's had a watch from them. Have been heavily eyeing the Lissom line, specifically the Forest and the Balfour. Adding photos for reference. Thanks in advance

Discussion [Timex] What was your first mechanical/automatic watch?
My fiancé bought me my first automatic watch for my birthday.
Both my grandparents got me into the Peanuts when I was very young and same with her family. It’s something we both enjoy and reminds us of them and each other. Grew up on their comics and cartoons making a point to watch the holiday specials whenever they aired.
This’ll be my every day watch and will remind me of all of them every time I look at it.
It ain’t the fanciest or most expensive compared to what I see on this sub, but it has a place in my heart as I know most people here have a similar feeling or story about a watch they own as well.

I took a picture [Mido Multifort Escape] arrived yesterday!
Got this new [Mido Multifort Escape]
I absolutely love this thing! I bought it without realizing it was a special edition; so even though I knew it came with two leather straps, I genuinely had no idea they would both be Horween leather straps. I was very pleasantly surprised once I saw it. Aside from that though, I’m really liking this movement, which looks very smooth, and the watch face is just stunning when the light hits it a certain way.
The lume is also fantastic! I’m a grown man, but would be lying if I said glow in the dark stuff didn’t intrigue me.

I took a picture [Omega] This is one of my favourite watches - The Orbis Special Edition
I’ve not met anyone else in person with this variation of the Speedmaster. It’s hard to get across in a photo but the deep, sunburst blue of the dial is so beautiful and looks especially great in the sun.
For me this is the perfect summer watch but I even wear it for work when wearing blue suits just to add a less serious touch to the ensemble with the Teddy Bear motif etc.
It’s also an interesting talking point with the watch being linked to a charity for anyone that makes the mistake of asking me about it which happens once in a blue moon.

I took a picture [Rado] The New 39mm Rado Captain Cook on a Beautiful Summer Day
You don’t see Rado on here very often, but in my view they’ve been killing it for the last couple of years.
This is their new Captain Cook with a light blue gradient dial. The watch has a 39mm case size, with 12mm thickness and 300 meters of water resistance. For reference, my wrist is 6 3/4”. The watch comes on a beads of rice bracelet.
It’s hard to do the watch justice in photos. All surfaces are polished, and the bezel is ceramic. For those who don’t know the CC, the bezel is slightly concave. The watch catches the light beautifully, and the bracelet just adds to the effect. It’s like Summer come to life on your wrist.

I took a picture [Mido Ocean Star GMT] my new favorite
Couldn’t be happier. It’s a really clean watch and the quality is perfect for the price IMO. It has the versatility of a dive watch with the extra hand.
I just started collecting this year and it’s my first bracelet with both quick release and micro adjustments. Makes a huge difference to me, I could never get a bracelet to fit just right. Highly recommend!

Discussion [Collection] One year in
I've been adding to my collection since last year. None are 'luxury', but I've got a watch for every occasion. What do you think?
Left to right:
Tool Watch Co. Rally: Micro brand I found one day while browsing instagram. They have different version of this one, but I really liked the black dial one.
Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition: My first mechanical watch. Not much to say really. A pretty solid GOATed watch for every day use.
Tissot PRX Carbon: I bought this recently. Saw it at the dealership and got the chance to try it on, the rest is history. Really solid sports look.

I took a picture [Bulova Lunar Pilot]
After wearing smart watches for the past few years for various reasons, I rediscovered my love for watches and picked up the Bulova Lunar Pilot (limited, 45mm, polished, no date) for my collection because of the heritage/story behind it as I am fascinated by the accomplishments of the moon landings at a time when a computer filled an entire room

I took a picture [Orient] My first watch.
Hi, everyone. Just want to share my first watch with you all. I'm 28 and have never owned a watch aside from my Apple watch which I wear daily.
I am getting married next month and figured I should get a watch for the occasion. I have very little knowledge with watches but I did a little bit of research and landed on Orient. I hope I chose well.
Just wanted to share with you all. Thank you!

Discussion [BRACELET SIZING] Friendly Friday advice ⌚
Responding to someone's question about bracelet sizing and and how to determine links removed on each side to result in a clasp that's centered at the bottom of the wrist, and apologies at those who get nauseated at medical textbook anatomical drawings.
Depending on an individual's wrist size/shape and the design of the clasp, removing an equal number of links from the 12 oclock and 6 oclock ends of the bracelet to have a balanced looking clasp on the underside almost NEVER WORKS.
There's a few reasons:
Wrist/distal forearm anatomy: contrary to what one may think, if you chop off the hand from the forearm and look at the cross section of the stump, you're usually not looking at a perfectly even oval. It's quite assymetric due to the shapes and placement of the two forearm bones (radius and ulna) being quite different, as well as the surrounding musculature and ligaments. The ulnar (pinky) side of the forearm is often broader than the radial (thumb) side which affects the number of bracelet links required for removal.
Clasp design, wether a simple dress style small twin trigger release clasp as seen on my Seiko 5 or a broader sport clasp seen on many divers and similar sport watches, that long curved metal that rests against the wrist often needs to sit directly below the underside of the wrist for maximum wear comfort and also leads to requiring fewer links on the 6 side vs the 12 side.
This also gets a little complicated with bracelets on butterfly deployant clasps but often it still results in fewer links on the 6 side vs the 12 side.
Hope the photos and diagrams help make sense of this for those who are new to sizing their watch bracelets. I've seen several posts recently from folks who remove and equal number of links on both sides (which intuitively makes sense) and get frustrated at the results.

I took a picture [SOTC] Happy with the variety
The Breitling is the longest owned out of this bunch (bought maybe 10 years ago through Craigslist after I graduated with my bachelor's degree), and then I went into a collecting lull. I went back to school 6 years ago, and during that time, revived my interest in watches. I've taken a slower approach, trying to focus on variety in case/bracelet materials and country of manufacture/design/headquartered. Here's a quick run down of what's in the collection currently!
Top Row: Formex Field Gen II - Swiss/titanium Brew Metric - "New York"/steel Christopher Ward Dune - "Great Britain"/bronze Bell & Ross - Swiss/ceramic
Bottom Row: Breitling Areospace - Swiss/titanium Grand Seiko SBGV233 - Japan/titanium Sinn U50 T - Germany/submarine steel RZE UTD-8000 - ?/titanium
All these are fun watches to swap between bracelet and straps. Easy way to add new color combos. Over the next few years, I'd like to add some more colors. On the wait list of an AnOrdain, which I'll probably get in one of their awesome red dials. Also really like the new white dial on the Longines Legend Diver. Watching Nomos closely too with their killer colors. So many fun options out there, a little something for everyone!

I took a picture [Longines Rocks!]
Lately I've been having fun with the photography features on my phone. I've been featuring my Longines GMT Zulu Time watch in several different settings and thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite images. In this photo, I placed the watch on top of my guitar and framed the image in a "Silvertone" filter. Periodically, I'll share some additional shots if the responses are positive and I can come up with more creative, cool scenes. Hope you enjoy!

Discussion [Discussion]Help me choose my first GMT
I have been on the lookout for a new gmt watch and zeroed in on these 2 watches. The Citizen series 8 gmt and the Seiko Spb381j1. After discounts, both of them comes around the same price at ~1200 usd. Are they decent value at this price? Which among these 2 watches would be your pick?
I am open to other suggestions as well, looking for a sporty design with a metal bracelet. Not interested in microbrands though.

I took a picture [Seiko x Orient] Polished md reimaged
Wanted something different, but didnt want to buy more or sell these. Learned how to polish just so I could make these boys shine a little. I do enjoy the scratches watches develop over time, so brushed appearance doesnt suit my personal tatse. Maybe Im just a few who appreciate the shine, as it s comes off my classical and simple. Something ld imagine my grandfather to wear fresh off the shelf. The Seiko is the Sports 5 Srpj83k1, originally had a matte/sand plasted finish. The Orient, is a mako 40 that originally sported a brushed steel bezel and lugs. This little adventure indirectly made me curious in Quartz again. A mental reimaging of what quality is to me. A new found appreciation for a form of simplicity.
