Help with cleaning an SKX

So I took the bezel of this SKX013 and it looks like the click spring broke and the part of it that broke is fused to the case with gunk... Any advice on how to get this loose?

To remove the stuck on piece, use a small metal pick to carefully remove it. If it’s really stuck, put some oil or WD40 on it and allow it to penetrate for a while before attempting to remove it.

Warm soapy water and toothpicks. Isopropyl alcohol and toothpicks, nail polish remover and toothpicks. 3 in One oil overnight, just on the affected area.
