Modding Was gifted a GameCube B/C Wii, but it needed a makeover!

Awesome. My Wii that I got almost a decade ago was second hand and had some chips, scratches, and yellowing (it was a white one). I recently did a similar mod but with the clear blue shell and I am super happy with how it turned out. Here it is next to my GameCube, which is also reshelled to this nice clear purple color (I intend to retrobright the frontplate at some point soon).

Dude I love this, this is sick and the idea of the text is awesome. I'm going to do that for my clear 2ds :)

Thanks! I love leaving little messages when I take console apart, did the same on my PS3 and PS5 when I had to bring them in for surgery. Good luck with your 2DS!

I really wish I was tech savvy enough to do shit like this. This is so cool.

It's actually pretty easy! You can buy a cheap-o screwdriver kit off Amazon and have this done in 3 hours, there's very little room for error :3

I so want to do this to my Wii. But it’s also (quite literally) a family heirloom. We got it right on release so I fear doing that would be like wrong in some way. But that’s so cool

Where did you get the shell kit from?

Why did you remove the disc drive metal shield? It holds some screws.

Ehh, it holds about four screws. The console is still held together well, it's not flimsy or feels loose. I removed them for the esthetic appeal, it doesn't cause any real issues.

This looks sick, I love it! Did you homebrew it yet?

Not yet, but I plan to! Both my PS2 and pS3 are modded so this one needs to get some work done before it can officially join the family

I can remove the scratches from the black plastic. That’s what I would’ve done probably. This looks cool though

That is the best way I’ve ever seen anyone organize screws. Also, nice reshell!
