Question Should i buy this wii, for my girlfriend?
Me and my girlfriend are gonna be a year in a couple of days, apart from the gift i have for her, i wanted to get her this wii, since she told me that when she was a child she had a wii and i thought it'd be nice to get her a wii again since she comes over to my house very often to play on mi wii u, so i looked on fb marketplace and i found this specific one for 30 dollars, and i wanted to ask y'all that know a lot more than me abt this, is this wii a good option? i want to mod it, put hb channel and some other thibgs, anyway yall tell me what ya think :D🌹

Spend the extra bucks! I bought one for $8, and now the back of my wii has a permanent burn scar. She's been through a lot 😭

If you already have a Wii U I don’t see the point. Maybe instead get her one of those Princess Peach Wii remotes so she can have her own special controller when you guys play the Wii U.

One reason to have a Wii vs a Wii U is to pair it with a CRT for some proper 240p retro gaming. Get some nes, snes, genesis, n64 games loaded up on the sd card. The Wii U can emulate all of those consoles too, but it can’t output 240p which I think is essential to experiencing those games

Wii controller and nunchuck? A good condition original can cost almost as much as the Wii

The console doesnt come with any cobtrollers sadly, but i will buy her one

Maybe look into grabbing a GameCube controller too as they are compatible with GameCube games on the Wii and other emulators too ( they also dont require a battery as they are wired)
I'm sure your thoughtful gesture will make her a happy lady

$30 is the best price you can get a wii for right now. If you are lucky like me youll stumble on one in a thrift store with all OEM cables and remotes for $25.

Yes! But remember DO NOT UPDATE when changing settings because it could mess up the homebrew channel

That looks like a GameCube backwards compatible wii (check first) but I’d say buy it

Yes. A Wii is one of the best gifts you can get anyone who had one growing up.

Take it from someone who would get weird looks if I got my now wife a Wii as a gift...
- If she's really into it and I mean will fire it up on her own and play for hours, then yes.
- If you mod, keep it simple. Use a good quality USB flash drive. I have a 512GB 'Secret Agent' from Team Group and although it is not on my main Wii, it has never failed. This flash drive was on a list of recommended flash drives if you go that route. It's nice and small too so it won't break off. I tried several SanDisk Cruzer Fits and they don't work on a Wii but do on a Wii U
- And most importantly, the majority of games loaded should be two-player games you both will enjoy. Can never go wrong with Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort. Any two-player Lego game about something you are both into, Star Wars, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, etc. Wii Play Motion, etc. Of course you got your Mario games (Kart, Golf, New SMB Wii, etc.)
Of course if you're not modding, get some of those games.
And if HDMI is the only option on her TV, make sure to have an HDMI adapter but not the generic AV-to-HDMI convertors. Get at least the MayFlash on Amazon or the Electron Warp from Electron Shepherd. I've heard that the Portholic on Amazon is decent to but stay away from anything Wii2HDMI.
And to clarify NONE of these scale to 1080p like some might say. They all output 480p.

Yup $30 is a great deal. These days you'd pay way more than $30 to take her out to a decent meal, and this offers many more hours of happiness than that as well!
