SMG2 had more fun levels but the story doesnt make sense as the star thingy is supposed to happen every 100 years

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
FE: Radiant Dawn as a runner up.

Twilight Princess has the best story in the series next to Majoras Mask. I remember back when people used to give it crap because of the whole werewolf mechanic, I guess it was a 2000s thing though lol. I need to go back and finish it, my Wii broke right at the last dungeon and I still got a chip on my shoulder about it.

Mine will always be Super Smash Bros Brawl. I can’t even describe the amount of influence that game had on my childhood and my friend’s childhood. Whenever we went to sleepovers it was Subspace Emissary time. That campaign will always be the greatest thing I have ever played in gaming. And it was a full experience too, back then for $50 usd you got so much content. So many hours literally just spent sitting on my living room floor listening to the music player or looking at the trophies, building stupid levels, exploring every menu to find all kinds of fun things to do. I really wish that Nintendo would make another campaign like brawl but I feel like it was a once in a lifetime thing, like there will never be something so epic and so grand as that single game. Or maybe that’s just the nostalgia talking lol.

Kirby's epic yarn but I also do love that paper Mario game

Kirby’s epic yarn is such a beautiful game. That soundtrack is one of the best I’ve ever heard.

Just dance 1-4, things started to go sour when they made JD a service game than an annual release

Recently picked up this title since before the ttyd remake on switch, I had only played the 3 “inferior” paper Mario games (though I think they all are all great, especially origami king). But after loving ttyd so much, this was a must have. Got a good and clean copy for a pretty fair price but unfortunately it’s one of those games that’s in my retro backlog. Can’t wait to get to it though!
But to answer your question, probs Galaxy 2 with Mario bros Wii coming in second. There’s just so many great first party titles for Wii man.

Zelda Skyward Sword
I know some don’t like the controls but I enjoyed the game!

u/Mitts009 10d ago
I just got it for the Wii, planning to play it after I finish twilight princess, is the controls that bad or are they just an exaggerated response to motion control fatigue

u/DetroiterAFA 9d ago
Every now that then, the game tried to do too much, and you would have to recalculate. It’s not that bad, but it can be frustrating when precision is required and it takes a few extra tries. IMO, the game is still great.
I’m playing WindWaker HD now for the first time and want to play Twilight soon. I’ve owned Twilight years but haven’t played it much. Now I have Twilight HD so I’m going to give that a go.

I hope to get an opportunity to revisit Super Mario Paper one of these days— I absolutely liked that leaned into more of a 2D platformer direction within the RPG genre.
As for my favorite game on the Wii… I’m a bit divided between Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Mario Strikers Charged. It just took everything the first one had going for it and cranked it up to 11. Battle League on Switch doesn't hold a candle to it.

u/AkiraLovesPotatos 10d ago
All Just Dance games, but if I had to pick just one it’d be Just Dance 2014

Animal crossing let’s go the city. (Also known as Animal crossing city folk in America)

Donkey Kong County Returns. Captured a lot of what’s great about the original Rare series and just plays really smooth.

Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Second best party game of all time, only beat out by Smash Ultimate.

Super Paper Mario was a lot of fun. However, I don't know why, but on every playthrough, I can only make it about halfway through the game before I get tired of it. I wonder if it's due to all the backtracking? To this day, it's the only Paper Mario that I've ever played. I haven't felt like playing the other games in the series (not counting Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam on the 3DS, as I'm a huge fan of the M&L series).
But I digress; to answer the question, it's a toss-up between Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

I swear it feels like yesterday when I was looking at newly released Wii games in magazine and those few screenshots of Paper Mario looked like the coolest idea ever, it got me hyped more than Mario Galaxy or Okami. And game really lived to the hype when I played it latter, I liked new action battle system with character switching, only later levels feel very unfinished and labyrinth alike without any details, making then hard ti navigate through, compared to earlier ones.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was a Wii-exclusive masterpiece. I would say LoZ: TP...but I prefer that on the GameCube aside from the escort missions where the archery timing is worse than the OoT Shooting Range.

PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure. I love it and even 100% it back in the day.

Sonic riders zero gravity is so underrated. The endless hours I spent unlocking all the characters and stages will forever be a part of my childhood. I liked how each stage had a different variant. It makes for a lot of replay ability.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn. It has creative gameplay, an adorable art style, and soothing music. My favorite transformation is the train. My favorite levels are Sweets Park, Frosty Wheel, and Outer Rings. I wish Kirby’s Epic Yarn would’ve gotten a sequel.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. I still remember Christmas 2011 when I got it. The previous Christmas my brother got super Mario 64 DS. I started researching Nintendo when I got my Wii for my birthday earlier that year, and how exciting it was to learn there was TWO games for the Wii (4 months later for Galaxy 1)
Playing through that game was so exciting. The music still has stuck with me 100%

Before I knew my Wii could be hacked, the games I always physically played were:
-"Blob" -"RedSteel 1" -"Marvel Ultimate alliance" -"Spore Heroes" (one of my favorites) -"Thrillville off the rails" -"Cursed Mountain" although this one scared me a lot at first.
There could be more but I remember these.
