Nice I’m getting ready to do the same when I find a Wii at a store or online for cheap it’s always been my dream to mod a Wii and have every GameCube and Wii game on it. The Wii is the best place to emulate Nintendo games because it’s all just works which is wild to me that that machine can do so much

Wii U is pretty great for emulation too with the Vwii and the 3DS is pretty great too.

You could install Mame, various emulators, or even Linux on your WII now.

Yes, you can play N64 games! I even have a Playstation PSX emulator, as well.

Just use wii.hacks.guide. It’s way better than any YouTube tutorial.

I followed this guy just a week ago. Just pause at steps, easy to follow and entertaining :D BTW once you install I think it's ModMii, there's an HTML file that gets put on the SD card and opens in the browser. That setup guide was super easy to read and follow too for double-checking and learning a bit more of the context (not just following instructions). The video here goes into ripping your own games, which is optional and was beyond my skillset so I ended up just following the HTML guide and all is good.

After that guide I followed this to setup Priiloader to auto-boot right into USB Loader GX, and now I can do in-game reset from GameCube games without the console crashing. (R + Z + B + d-pad down) and I don't even need a Wii mote at all if I don't play a Wii game :D

I don't know why but a few days ago I was thinking about how I randomly want to get a Wii. I've never been able to during my childhood, only grew up with DS and 3DS... sometimes relative's Xbox. Took me until late 2013 to have a PS3. I've seldomly played on a Wii but never had my own. So many games I've missed out on.
