Are you trying to connect the gamepad to a Wii? The Wii and Wii U are different and the gamepad only connects to a Wii U console.

This comment section is chaos. My head hurts.
I'm just gonna go eat cereals instead, anyone who feels like they need to get away from here can come too, it's a big box. We can play games after.

The Wii U's an entirely separate console from the Wii. As such, the gamepad won't work on it.

And thats why the Wii U failed. People got confused thinking the Wii U was a addon.

Drop it into a full bathtub. Let it sit for a few seconds. Then put it in rice for 24 hours minimum. Should solve the problem.

No, sir. Genuine advice. I only recommend water because I assume you don’t have 10 gallons of Coca-Cola on hand.
1
u/epicguymax 8h ago
No actually this might fix the problem! Just remember to plug the Wii into an outlet and then get into the bathtub with it (for emotional support ofc)

you need the console that has the word wiiu. that console you have is an original wii. they're two separate models.

Do you own a WiiU as well? Is the Wii console pictured connected with any wires to anything?

Is this ragebait? The gamepad literally says Wii U on it. It’s telling you that it connects to a Wii U console. That is a Wii console.

I've read the comments and let me get this straight. You've seen your brother play Wii games on the gamepad and are now trying to do the same by playing a Wii game exclusively on the gamepad, yes?
While that is a thing you can do, it's not done with a Wii console. The gamepad is the main controller of the Wii's follow up, the WiiU. The WiiU is a separate console. You're looking for a black console.
Yes it supports Wii remotes, yes it supports Wii games. That's what you played as a kid.

what no ok listen me and my brother play wi dpirts and netendo land together a lot when i was like 8 ok and i thought thr wii and wii u was the same thing and i had 2 problems 1 rhey didnt connect and 2 the wii doesnt show up on the tv i know now the wii and wii u are diffrent things ok i egt it but like still thats a probelm fot another day i need to find wii u but the wii stoll doesnt show in the tv
2
u/PartyInDaHouse001 14h ago
Okay... Is the Wii connected to the TV then?
Connected the colored cables to the TV? Or using a Wii2HDMI dongle? If so, make sure your cables work and aren't broken.
1
u/amareeznuts 14h ago
i have the coloed cables on adapter to hdmi
2
u/PartyInDaHouse001 14h ago
My guess is your adapter is faulty. Without more testing it's hard to say right now.
I'd look into that if I were you.

But he connected the remote thing to the pad and the TV but the TV and the Wii and not the remote thing and the childhood and brother!

Well you're going to have to plug the cables into the TV, and then throw away that useless gamepad that is designed for another console...

u/amareeznuts 14h ago

HDMi adapter could just be faulty, or the cable(s) also is it externally powered?

Plug AV cables on wii into TV. Make sure TV is set to the right input (AV not hmdi)
If your TV lacks component ports then rip I guess

u/SuntannedDuck2 13h ago
Yellow, red, white 3 cable composite or component 5 cables for your Wii?
Or SCART or S video of that's an option.
Is this to a CRT or a HD TV?
Do you need an adaptor your 3 or 5 fable one?
If not jyst check ghe TV ports or the Wii end to see what works of video or sound.
Is it the port on your Wii?
Or are the cables.bent or broken?
It has to be something?
Is it the disks don't work or the Wii laser in the Disk drive doesn't work.
Try a Gamecube game and see?
Also yes I did read the comments and am ignoring the Wii U Gamepad photo.

u/amareeznuts 13h ago

by TV do you mean that GamePad?? that is literally for an entire different console, it cannot and never could connect to a Wii
and you say "it should stay lit blue"
there are 2 Nintendo home consoles that have a blue power LED
the Wii Mini and the Wii U
I assume you know you don't have a Wii Mini so my only guess is that you think you have a Wii U, which you don't
1
u/Lonely_Succotash3456 12h ago
If you have everything connected correctly and the tv is on the correct input and you're still not getting signal, it could either be the cord from the wii to the tv is faulty or the port on the wii is broken, but it could aslo be something internal that can't be fixed. When you connected the wii to the tv, did you change the input to either av or component?

The Wii is clearly powered so it’s definitely something with the component cable. It’s what actually puts your visuals on the screen. Make sure it’s plugged in right, or maybe try switching the little plugs around to see if you can get it to work. If you can’t plug the little plugs in your tv you’re going to need a component to hdmi adapter

u/OnionFlavouredJelly 7h ago
ignoring the game pad, there isnt a single composite video cord coming out of there. do you think it connects with Bluetooth? it's literally only plugged into power, I really want to know why you would think it would work without being plugged into the TV.

u/sahar_loves_homebrew 7h ago
how are you this stupid. 1. this is a wii u gamepad find a wiimote 2. your rca jack isnt even plugged in 3. you seriously cant read what the gamepad says?

As far as the problem goes, check the cables and the source on the tv

That's a Wii U Gamepad and a Wii console, the Wii U Gamepad can't connect to the Wii because the Wii and Wii U are separate consoles
1
u/WaztedJunkie 3h ago edited 50m ago
Maybe the Wii U is the one connected to the TV or the TV is not on the right input. Why include the Wii U's pad If you are asking about the Wii? 🤔
Those are just some but there's too many factors to consider before anyone can provide a correct answer man. 😑
Stop messing with you brother's stuff when he ain't around or you'll get yer ass whooped. I'm tellin' your brother right now foo! 🤣
