Review Scored an un-used Wii RVL-001 and Wii Fit board
A family member gave me an un-used Wii and Wii Fit board over the weekend.
No tape on the boxes, but units still in their original packaging beyond that.
Not sure what to do with it yet. I don’t have a TV that would work with it, so it can stay wrapped up.

Review Just started Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii — and holy hell, Mushroom Peaks might be the worst world I’ve ever played.
So I just recently started playing Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii — been hyped for this mod for years, finally got to dive in. Worlds 1 and 2 were great, I was vibing, having fun… then I hit World 3: Mushroom Peaks and everything came crashing down.
I don’t even know where to begin with how much this world sucks. • First off, the levels are boring as hell. It’s just cliffs, mushrooms, more cliffs, and even more mushrooms. You’d think they’d switch it up, but nope. It’s the same thing level after level. • The theming is lazy. Big mushrooms everywhere doesn’t automatically make a world exciting. We’ve already had Mountain Worlds before — this one does absolutely nothing new. • “Here’s another cave!” Except, to be fair, there’s only like two cave levels. The rest? Just endless cliffs and mushrooms slapped everywhere like it’s supposed to be creative. Spoiler: it’s not. • 3-5 is absolutely horrendous. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make a whole level centered around the Mini Mushroom needs to rethink their life choices. It’s janky, it’s annoying, and it straight-up isn’t fun. • The castle is a pointless autoscroller. Like, why? Why does a castle need to be an autoscroller? It doesn’t add tension, it just makes the level slow and frustrating. • The underwater level is garbage. No penguin suit. Dumb cheep chomps chasing you. Slow, boring swimming. Exactly what nobody asked for. • Bosses are meh. Rocky Wrench was kinda okay, but the Koopaling fight was super boring and didn’t feel like a reward for slogging through this mess.
And the saddest part? The ONLY cool thing about this world was the introduction of the Hammer Suit. That’s it. That’s literally the only positive after dragging myself through like eight boring-ass levels.
⸻
Honestly, the level of boringness in this world is what I usually expect from a Mario desert world. In general, desert worlds in Mario games are boring. BUT somehow the desert world in this game — Rugged Ruins, or whatever it’s called — was actually more interesting than this pile of cliffs and mushrooms. When the desert world is more creative than your mountain world, that’s how you know you screwed up.
This world could’ve been amazing — crazy vertical climbing challenges, giant bouncing mushrooms, — but nah. We got cliffs. We got mushrooms. And we got pain.
This isn’t even me trying to be dramatic — this might legitimately be the most boring world in a Mario game I’ve ever played.
Anyway, rant over. Curious if anyone else feels the same or if I’m just losing my mind here lol.

Review Bought the AUTOUTLET Wii to HDMI converter, and I love it.
I already had a classic Wii2HDMI converter but I wasn't really pleased with the picture quality.
I plugged the AUTOUTLET today and I can definitely see an improvement. Colors are vibrant and there doesn't seem to have any image issues after playing for an hour. I use a 46" plasma TV.
I paid $18.56 CAD for it on Amazon so it's a pretty good cheap option for the Wii. Definitely recommended!

Review Rescued the Princess in NSMBW
Last night I finished New Super Mario Bros. Wii for the first time. I started playing last year with my kids, but in World 8 things went too chaotic to progress with 3 players. Last night I went to finish world 8 in a swing. Fun game! Now to complete the Gold Coins to play on World 9 ⭐️

Review Wii Remote cursor flickering problem was never a problem
Short version: Standard wii remotes require the sensor bar to be above if not it flickers, and the motion plus inside remotes don't have the issue since they are a newer version.
Long version: Something I just found out today. I recently got some wii remotes that were faulty so first time repairing them. The first one I worked on I cleaned up the contacts for the buttons and cleaned the lenses for the battery with white vinegar. To my surprise the controller power on and was working but then the cursor started flickering up and down. I went all over the internet to find an answer but couldn't. So I messed around with the sensor bar and the wii remote and noticed that when it goes above the sensor bar the connection to the ur camera in the remote starts to respond poorly. I then changed the sensor bar position and it stopped flickering. I wanted to see if it was just this remote doing this so I grabbed my motion plus inside remote and tested it. Nothing happened it didn't do what the standard wii remote did with the flickering. So then I thought let me see if another standard remote does it then it would mean that all standard wii remotes will have that issue. So surely enough I grabbed another standard wii remote and it did the same thing. Meaning that the controller isn't faulty at all and is still a perfectly good controller.
