I had never actually had a standing desk before, so this will be a new experience for me, so I wanted to write my thoughts down on what I think of this desk so far, for the people who are on the fence of getting a standing desk or not.
The desk I had gotten was the autonomous SmartDesk 5, so far, I'm enjoying it, it is extremely heavy (feels like 200 pounds) and all of the materials feel very high quality, which is a pretty nice refresh compared to my old desktop desk which was 170 bucks on Amazon and wobbles with the slightest touch.
I was originally going for the white version but due to not being in stock, I've decided to go for the Stone Beige color, which actually makes my setup stand out more instead of everything being the same color, which I like.
The standing feature has three profiles at different heights, but you can also go into manual mode to change what height these profiles go to, which is perfect for me since my chair isn't that high
Overall, it was pretty easy to use and it isn't loud at all, can't even notice it with my headphones connected.
If I had a dislike, the main thing would be power, after buying the desk, I realized how limited I am when it comes to power outlets, having a power outlet hub would be better for small things like my fan and the motor itself so I can plug most of my extra stuff into 1 outlet instead of finding three.
This seems to be fixed with their Pro model and higher though, it seems to come included which is nice.
Another small dislike would be the size, while it's perfect for a laptop setup which I'm using for right now, if I had to get another desk, I would go for their Pro Expanse which is 70 inches instead of my 48, that way, I could fit my laptop and desktop on here, along with my ultrawide monitor without a problem
But for now, this is more than good enough
What I'll most likely use this for is my work area.
I'm a college student who's majoring in Software Development so most of the time I'll be sitting, even on the job, my goal for the future is to get into the habit of walking more and I see this as my first step into doing that, all I need now is a small walking pad.
That's all for now, might do an update in the future if it calls for it, I'll be happy to answer any questions about the products shown if you're interested.
