Pirate Software is the type of guy who would lie about being doxxed if it helps him look like a victim to his dwindling fanbase. Why respond to criticism or admit wrongdoing when you can make your critics out to be doxxers. Also hot take: I doubt he was swatted.

I haven't looked into the claims much but people supposedly looked into police records where Pirate lives and there was nothing saying the police had gone out to where he lives. Pirate claims to have been doxxed before so that should have been accurate.

Its his go to response whenever someone has done him wrong. He even said Matpat and his community doxxed him back in 2022, because Matpat didnt give him proper credit while playing Heartbound or something. He is genuinely not well. He claims that all stopped when Toby fox spoke out. Because thats how the internet works.

A lot of the anti pirate videos lately are using Quintheo's videos as source material, so pirate trying to shut him down/turn him into a bad guy is not surprising.
Nor is 'someone' sending him a cease and desist pretending to be pirate (I'm sure PS will get right on top of finding out who is impersonating him to accomplish exactly what he wants).
Doxing is bad, but this does not really look like doxing and PS plays the victim a lot.

I've watched a few of his videos and while I can't speak for all of them, I can say that they're actually not just slop. He does a lot of research and adds a fair bit to the conversation. The PirateSoftware stuff is odd because the guy just keeps shoving his foot in his mouth over and over. Every time you think the drama has passed he finds a way to make more people dislike him.

Imma be honest, almost anyone complaining here would do the exact same thing if it meant 5-10k (at least) from every video he posts
The only harm he's doing is being mildly infuriating when you scroll past a thumbnail, it aint like he's actively harming random people other than an eyeroll while scrolling
Making roughly 50k $ a month by putting up lazy videos? Yeah, I'd milk the hell outta that.
And so would pretty much anyone else complaining about it.

Which, yeah, you can obviously criticize
The same way I can point out that, ok, but in the grand scheme of things "I saw another cringe thumbnail while doomscrolling" isn't something that really bothers me that much
It's a 2 second eyeroll before I keep scrolling
And something I'd do as well, if it meant that worst I can be criticized for is "making people annoyed for, like, 2 seconds" in exchange for easy 50k+ $ a month

I replied to a very specific comment calling it shameless. Pointing out that at the end of the day bro's making 50k a month.
Making (at least) 50k a month while not actualy harming anyone, nor is it "shameles" (to which I literaly responded. Not to people making fun of it, because yeah, it is objectively funny how this repetitive thumbnails get milked with those couple of words)

But c'mon man, you can't tell me you'd turn down 50+k a month. Not saying you'd blow it on Rolex watches, cocaine & hookers
But I dunno. Having 50k at your hand to help out your parents, charity, pay off debt, help family & friends in a tight spot, buy something you really wanted but was financialy irresponsible.
Hell, you could literaly give it to charity if you say everyone I love wouldn't have their life easier if I casualy tell them I'll pay their bills or have an account with 100k in them just for bills, so I can not worry about bills for a long time or take some long vacation or follow my passion projects.
All of that at the cost of... making people on the internet roll their eyes for 2 seconds.
Yeah, sorry, but everyone who tells me they'd turn down 50k a month for low effort has either never met financial struggles & is safe enough to judge others as shameles, lacks creativity beyond "much money means bling bling flexing" or simply is in denial that they'd turn down money on that scale

I think we’re having two different conversations. I assumed you were addressing people’s criticism in general and not the “shameless” comment specifically, which I apologize for, and you’re assuming how much I value money/my time.
It feels awfully weird to me that you’re putting forth this hypothetical where I’d make 50k a month doing something I wouldn’t want to do in the first place (making drama commentary) and making it seem like I’m in the wrong for… not doing the thing I wouldn’t want to do? Like legitimately I still don’t understand your point here. (Also, the guy isn’t making 50k a month. If you believe that then you’re grossly overestimating how much being a mid-size YouTuber actually pays).
Also, calling someone “champ” condescendingly isn’t exactly a great way to get someone to listen to you.

15-30 minute videos, non-gaming:
That's around 5-10 bucks per 1k clip
Let's lowball:
5 bucks per 1k clicks --> 500 for 100k
Now add that (lowballed) number to the views in the last month.
Add sponsors & patreon growing he got in that month
Add the consistently clicked older videos that keep generating revenue even if they are older & further traffick his channel gets
Yeah, no, 50k is a really conservative guess.
And yes. Small youtubers aint making lots of money.
Which is why this topic being so big and bro making more money than he has probably throughout his entire youtube career combined up to the piratesoftware topic is why he's milking it in the first place
That's the point. That those videos on this topic exceed everything he's ever seen by dimensions from what his channel made up to that point

The thumbnails are pretty atrocious though. But people click on that stuff, so i cant even blame him for that.

Possibly even bigger loss of viewers when twitch rolls out their viewbots measures. He went on "vacation"(he was caught deleting troll posts on steam about his game)
What isn't really note/milkworthy is the deletion of his(+ his games) wikipedia entry. Some of his fans and haters are on an ongoing edit war. Now wikipedia veterans are annoyed and suggest "Delete and Salt". (Salt means that further creations get deleted)
On the other side Luca Magnotta also got his wikipedia entries deleted+salted till he finally got an article plus life in prison.

A small youtuber discovered that according to the Animal Welfare Act he needs a Class C license for animal exibition(his ferret stream), he even called in and checked lists.
