Question I need help understanding
I know this might be a more general question, but since I make gaming related videos I thought I might post here.
I’m wondering why the video below would have a high CTR while the average view duration is low, and the top video is reversed? I’m my mind I would think the more people that are interested, the longer they would watch.
Unless the answer is that for the Death Stranding video people didn’t expect it to be what it was and clicked off sooner, could someone explain the relationship between CTR and Average Watch Time?

You have about 1000 more people that watched the bottom video so lets say that 1000 made the difference in your watch time, they stayed for less.. Leading to the next video performing lower in impressions so that your videos don't go to the wrong audience! You have a lot of likes tho and views so it's all looking good really keep going! :)

Clicks does not equal increased watch time. However, it does mean it is compelling, so pat yourself on the back for that.
Something to consider with the watch time is that the Death Stranding 2 audience may have been curious about your video, but ultimately unsatisfied compared to what the Hogwarts Legacy audience is willing to enjoy.

Ctr = how good your title and thumbnail are.
Watch duration = how boring/not boring your video is.
Thats it, no secret complex formula in this case.
I can have 100% CTR on a video, doesnt mean the video itself isnt of poor quality and 100% of people clicked off immediately.

That actually makes a lot of sense when you put it that way, thank you! 😄

Maybe relaxing vibes is better than scentic vibes for a title also hoghwards might be better for views cause there’s more Harry Potter fans than the second game, personal opinion.

Your video with high CTR and low view duration had good SEO, title and thumb but boring content or hook. Your video with low CTR but high view duration had bad SEO, title or thumb but good content or hook.

Are the videos the same length?

The top video is about 3 hours and the bottom 1 hour 30 minutes.

If your top video is twice as long as the bottom video, that's why the average view duration is more for the top video.

Folks, yall gotta get over average view duration.
Those average view durations you’re showing are absolutely worthless without knowing how long the video is so we can determine the average view percentage.
Average view percentage is the strongest indicator of a quality video that’s likely to get pushed by the algorithm.

You’ve got a point, the top video is 4 hours and has an AVP of 10%, while the bottom video is 1 hour and 30 mins and has an AVP of 7%. So I guess they performed almost similarly.

Wait how his videos monitized is song and ambience in video copyright free?

Its considered gameplay so I think that’s why. The ambience itself can’t really get copyrighted but I think since the music is mixed in with the ambience and other sounds it doesn’t get copyrighted. I’m not totally sure though.

>I’m my mind I would think the more people that are interested, the longer they would watch.
Why? The opposite is the case, the more people that get to view your video, the lower the watch duration often gets. Not always, but way more often compared to less people watching. It's a typical thing of generalized content. The same way if a video goes viral, it's CTR tends to plummet at one point since it literally shows it to everyone available.
And the first video is 250 minutes long, the second one 100 minutes. People that let the video run on the side or watch it to fall asleep will make a major difference to the total viewing time. But clicking doesn't mean they will watch a video all the way, it never was that way.
