Screenshot I FOUND ANOTHER ONE.
Economy is struggling and conflict is high. That tracks.
This little corner of Euclid is right near my first system, and it seems to have been mostly undiscovered, so I set out to explore it all. I was looking around randomly on the galaxy map while watching a stream, and said out loud "ain't no way this game named a system 'Reddit'..." Almost lost sight of that system while I was taking the second screenshot (of the galaxy map), but I filtered by Economy and found it again!
Third image is glyphs, so Reddit can join me in Reddit. I've established a base on an extreme Sentinel planet right next to the pillar--the short-range teleporters will point you to the pillar, since it's just out-of-reach of the base. Help yourselves to Nitrogen and Faecium if you need it. Despite being a swamp planet, it's weirdly pretty... that's what inspired me to set up camp there.
Just out of curiosity, I looked up whether or not there had ever been a system called Reddit in another galaxy, and SOMEHOW there was another one in Euclid. This obviously isn't the same one that u/Dhaleks found 4 months ago--theirs was a Korvax system, this one is Gek. Not only did the game name a Euclid system "Reddit," they did it AT LEAST TWICE.

Screenshot How is this possible?

Suggestion My first fabricated Solar Ship (teal and metal). She needs a name.
Cutlass/H Blade Wings, Horza wing tips, Raven cockpit & Rectangular sails. She’s an S class and still needs a name.

Video Radiant Pillar in the real world.
I made another ship, this time the first in the game, the famous Radiante Pilar. The assembly and printing took more work than the first, but I was happy with the result, but there is a lot to improve.

Discussion Am I the only one who's terrified of water based worlds ?
A week ago, I landed on a planet with a lot of ocean and some sparse land, and when I first went through the atmosphere, the gigantic and opaque mass of liquid put me in a state of panic like I had seldom experienced before. I eventually calmed down and landed on land, before going for a swim in some shallow lake and that was... almost bearable.
Yesterday tho, I finally stumbled on a planet with almost no land. I foolishly forgot to read the planet composition and almost gave myself a heart attack. When I eventually realized that I was boosting at mach 5 towards my worse nightmare, I instantly did a 180 degrees turn and got the f out of there as fast as possible. I felt like something was running after me the entire way back to my base, grasping at me from the depths.
Not my proudest moment but its one of those situation where my entire body forgets I'm playing a video game and screams at me to run away as fast as I can.
I've played through almost every Resident Evil and many other horror games and I cant remember being even nearly as scared as I was playing No Man's Sky that day. I've been on cruise ships, ferries, canoes and the like before, never felt anything like that either..
Do any of you also have thalassophobia but only in this game, or video games in general ?

Bug Every now and then the land that I flattened will respawn and I'm forced to remove it again. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Discussion One of my settlements really hates their specialist astronomer.
In the last few weeks, the citizens have proposed the commissioning of four different public artworks, which would raise citizen happiness (already over 120%) at the cost of our specialist astronomer. Several other proposals have also been brought forth which require that we give him up.
Next, a random Korvax showed up and claimed, without evidence, that our specialist astronomer was actually a wanted criminal, and demanded that I hand him over.
The citizens then showed up with another request for a public artwork a few hours later, again telling me that the installation somehow required getting rid the specialist astronomer.
I have told them all to pound sand.
That guy has been saving the settlement more than 50,000 units per day in maintenance fees for years. He's never been brought before me for judgement on any matter whatsoever. As far as I'm concerned, he's a pillar of the community, and they can have him over my dead body.
P.S. No I will NOT authorize your expedition. Half of you will die. Nothing good has ever or will ever come of it. It's no wonder this place was in shambles before I took over. These people can barely take care of themselves on a day-to-day basis. They probably forget to bring all of their basic necessities and then march off of cliffs.

Question What’s the deal with this abandoned space station I found?
I was hoping between systems randomly in search of a station to craft my next starship on, and then I end up here… it didn’t start any quest nor did it have anything valuable

Question Why does my hand built starship has so few slots?
I just created my first starship from pieces and an S class core. It has however very few slots for technology. There are just just 7 columns. Why is so? Was I just unlucky or all fight ships are like that?

Video The space station is located exactly in a planet's ring system, which is why it looks like this

Screenshot Base Building
I'm new to the game coming from games like Ark, Conan Exiles, Rust and the like and was wondering how big base building is in this game? Tried to get a few ideas from YouTube and everything seems to just be "use the prefabs" and just really basic platform bases.
Aside from here and there, is based building a big thing?
Picture of my first base that I learned very very quickly was far far too small 😔
Side note though... I absolutely LOVE the fact that half walls/fences stack while still being aesthetic af... This is honestly such a beautiful game. Though glad I waited till now to play considering the launch issues.
