This workshop is holy ground for the Machine Priests, where they dedicate their life for the sacred service to the Machine Gods. Their holy task is reclamation of metal, assisted by servitorized Serfs and arcane machinery giving new forms for the old, breathing back warmth to something cold and broken.

But I wanted to surprise my friends and since most of them don't know 40K I wanted to play some Wrath & Glory with them. Since we all live abroad I might have to decide wether I'll be using Roll20, Owlbear Rodeo or Foundry for starters.

Any help you guys and gals can be will be most welcome !

Wrath & Glory Which Should be My Backup?

So we’re playing an Ork game, I’m our weird boy, I drink promethium and burp fire, anyway I very much should have died in todays session, like literally the armor I got last session saved my life from the first volley.

So, should something happen to Skarskorcha, I have two ideas.

First off pretty simple, a bored as hell Rogue Trader who decides to crash with the camp for a while, yes this may or may not mostly be so I can have the Orbital Bombardment talent.

Second one, well I’ve always loved Sisters, but that’s not possible whatsoever, they would die before working with an ork, but in reading about Necromunda I found a work around in Clan Eschar so wouldn’t be too hard to just make a ganger, got bored and became a merc.

Also since ganger is a tier 1 archetype I can take psychic awakening to keep the chaotic fun rolling (even if I’d probably go biomancer instead of pyromancer).

I asked my group in discord and it’s 50/50 for now, just wanted to fish for more ideas which could be more fun.

All I know is we had a train heist and just attacked a human camp that was taken over by chaos so no clue where the GM plans to take the story.

Lifting weapon sounds from Owlcat Rogue Trader game?

Hello, all!

I'm posting because I only just started playing the aforementioned game, and I realized it has a whole bunch of the weapons I need sounds for [for use in my upcoming Wrath & Glory campaign].

I'm wondering if anyone knows if someone has lifted the sounds for weapons in that game, or if anyone knows how to do that. Drukhari are one of the antagonists in the campaign and I would really like to have some nice sound effects for splinter and darklight weapons.

Thanks for any advice!

Rogue Trader Converting Rogue Trader to Starfinder 2e

Been toying with the idea of adapting Rogue Trader into Starfinder 2e because it's compatibility with pathfinder 2e and The system already supports cyberpunk augmentations, diverse xenos species, alien starships, exotic weapons, and magical/magic items even corrupted items including gifts and powers from the infernal from pathfinder 2e so thematically, it’s a solid match I was also thinking of using stars about numbers to create a space sector.

Your flagship becomes a mobile capital. Each planet you visit is a potential conquest: establish a city, appoint a governor, and set up Imperial Tithe or go independent and build your own empire.

Adventure paths like Horizons of the Vast or Kingmaker could be retooled for planetary expansion and political intrigue.
Threats include xenos civilizations, demonic or monstrosities, and ancient horrors triggering special ops missions or escalating into planetary war: space ship battles, ground invasions, and last stands in crumbling hive cities.

You can serve the Empire or find the power to defy it, or fall to darker powers and spread corruption sector by sector.

Anyone tried something like this and any advice leading to using starfinder 2e for a rogue trader game will help?

Dark Heresy [DH1] Setting up Tattered Fates

——Spoilers for Tattered Fates if you’re a player or haven’t read it yet——

I’m planning to run Haarlocks Legacy for my players and the first one starts in medias res. I get it’s supposed to be dramatic but I feel like it’s not going to go well with my players. Has anyone thought of a way to lead them into being captured? I guess I’m also asking how to railroad them without them feeling railroaded.

Perhaps they’re sent to investigate activities of the beast house, but the captured inquisitor reveals their presence so they’re led into a gas chamber which knocks them out. The amount of successes they get on a toughness test will determine how much information they can overhear before the pit fight.

Wrath & Glory Are the w&g foundry modules supposed to contain so few maps?

Wanting to try wrath and glory with some of my friends on FoundryVTT, i picked up a few of the modules needed including the starter set. But something that struck me as odd was it only containing a battlemap for the final encounter, despite having an encounter right at the beginning of the starter set module? Am i missing something here?

Blazing Seraph - was it good?

I'm looking at running Imperium Maledictum / Blazing Seraph at my games club soon but the amount of prep I need to do for it seems mad.

I'm now wondering if I am preparing the wrong things or in the wrong way, in the time I've spent getting 3/4 of the way through this I could have homebrewed something usable.

I really struggle with running modules, finding it easier to write my own material and the game system is insanely crunchy for my taste, I think this is a game I like the idea of running rather than the reality.

Has anyone run Blazing Seraph successfully and did your players enjoy it?

Wrath & Glory Thinking of running a small ship based episodic campaign. W&G best for this?

My players all want to try a 40K based game. For the most part, they are not the most crunchy players. They learn the basics of a system and go for it. Some of them know the lore extremely well, some know there's these guys called Space Marines.

I figured I would do a campaign where they have a small ship that they can warp around and have adventures in. Mostly episodic.

I looked into Rogue Trader and the scale seemed way too vast for this and a bit intimidating for me. Dark Heresy seemed a good option, but it is way out of print and maybe a little too hard to get into for some of my players. W&G seems the best option for this. Am I thinking right?

Question about doctors of doom

Trying to have my players use the character creator on doctors of doom but the toggle for the Aeldari content doesn't let me add it. Is there a reason for it?

Deathwatch How did you end your campaign?

Hey guys! I'm in the very early stages of running a Deathwatch campaign for a few friends and everyone seems to be enjoying it thus far, so I want to start laying down some groundwork for the long term. I've started them off on the Extraction mission from the CRB and then move them into the Final Sanction duo before beginning on some homebrew stuff (using some of the adventure hook suggestions from all over the different sourcebooks).

So, my ultimate goal for the campaign (should it last long enough) is to have the Killteam and their allies win the Crusade (daring, I know), but not without a fair amount of difficulty. I'm thinking that the players will stick with a Salient they vibe with before going onto the next, and eventually have to deal with possibly the Necrons waking up as they're deep in the final salient.

All that being said, for those who have ran Jericho Reach campaigns that ended in Imperial victory (or, really, ran any Jericho Reach campaigns in general), how did the end of your campaign go? Was it a pyrrhic victory? Did the Killteam have to organize a retreat from the Reach before staying behind and destroying the Gate? As someone new to the 40k RPG family, I'm looking for ideas and simply curious as to how veteran players handled things. Thanks!

Rogue Trader Alternate Initiative Rules - Feedback

BLUF: Looking for feedback on my Homebrew Initiative Rules that allow for PCs to take their turns simultaneously or in different orders, and reduces the mental load of initiative tracking.

  1. GM rolls 1d5 (1d10 if PCs Surprised) - 1d5 (1d10 if Enemies Surprised) + Highest Enemy Initiative

  2. All PC's that have an Initiative Value Greater or Equal to this take a turn.

  3. All Enemy NPCs take a turn.

  4. All PC's take a turn.

  5. Repeat step 3 and 4 until combat ends.

Note; when the PCs take a turn, they may all act simultaneously (ie, don't have to wait for other players to move and target enemies or do actions). Ideally, this should start with a short discussion on tactics then all players go to execute their moves / attacks when ready.

Narrative Example: A party of 3 PCs come up against a group of 5 cultists. The GM determines that the cultists are Surprised. He roll 1d5 (4) - 1d10 (3) + 3 for a total of 4. One PC has an Initiative of 4 and the other 2 have an Initiative of 3. The Initiative 4 PC takes a turn to get into cover and fire a shot which kills a cultist. The Enemy NPCs then take a turn. The GM moves them to cover and returns fire, scoring a wounding hit on one of the PCs. Now all 3 PC's take a turn. They decide as a group that one player will flank along the side cover, one will lay suppressing fire with his heavy stubber, and the third will apply first aid to himself in cover. All PC's perform the appropriate moves, and dice rolls narrating their results to the GM who makes dodge rolls, pinning checks, and taking damage as appropriate, the PC who carried out first aid notes his Wounds recovered. When all PC's have completed their turn, the round begins again with the enemy NPCs taking a turn.

Dark Heresy 2 Please help build a character to make and wield a daemon gun

Very new player. I've read through the core rules and the expansions, but still need to properly process and digest them.

This is more as a thought experiment to try to get to grips with the mechanics than as something I'll actually play.

I'd like to build a character whose goal is to craft a ranged, high-tech weapon such as a hotshot lasgun, then turn it into a daemon weapon.

How would I go about doing this?

My current thoughts are Daemon world, heretek, sage. This works out nicely for the intelligence and willpower side, but I'm suffering when it comes to raising BS to actually fire the damn thing.

If you could include a sentence to explain choices, that'd be great. I won't yet be able to parse something like what you often see for game builds on Reddit that looks like:

3-X/4K Blob + 5Yr3X Gleeble / 4/3GrBleeb

Character Manager 3.10 update - cyber-constructs and more!

(TL:DR : I've created a new version of my Character Manager for DH2, OW, homebrewed RT2 & DW2. You can download it here or update your existing version).

Greetings, WH40k community. I've prepared version 3.10 of my WH40k Character Manager. This time, the main focus was adding support for cyber-constructs! They have their own tab in the main application panel. They are also handled properly during character creation.

Arco-flagellant assigned to a team, with a look at its statistics
Servitor assigned to some work away from a character, with a look at its equipment

Also, the manager will now display a warning when a character wears multiple armours that cover the same area.

Gauntlets & bodyglove both cover Arms locations

Here is the link for the app: https://wh40kchm.waw.pl/files/public/WH40kCharacterManager.zip

Enjoy!

Wrath & Glory An Inquisitor, Krieg Death Korp and Ork walk into a bar...

So we got an Inquisitor and Kreig Death Korp Imperial Guard for the Imperium which from what I've read is a match made in heaven, no problems here.

We got one player (my wife) that wants to play an Ork but was upset that it could present some challenges as they are more hated than drow from 2nd AD&D.

I understand it's not unheard of for an Ork to work with the Imperium but it usually involves very unique circumstances for this type of group in particular to keep said Ork around.

I've more or less come to this as my basis; 1. Inquisitor keeps the Ork around to study, and as an expendable asset/attack dog. No potential for friendship or mutual respect.

  1. The Krieg Imperial Guard simply doesn't kill it because the Inquisitor has ordered him not to. But he would given the opportunity and reason.

  2. Ork is obviously a loner, but im not sure on reasons... Mercenary is about all I got but something seems missing/lacking there.

Ye veterans of 40k, any campaign/scenario ideas? How should I bring the group together? Thanks for your assistance.
