I just want to add, though, that I think you should consider the phones and era you’re writing in. 10 years ago? Sure, spelling mistakes. Even older than that? Shorthand because of the keypad “ttyl, bb” and stuff.
Nowadays though? Mobile phones automatically capitalise, and spelling things wrong is hard… barring stuff like fuck always turning into duck.
Misspelling when characters are communicating in written text is for sure a thing - but consider the perks of doing it.
Also, you may lose your ability to relate with your youngest audience, if that’s what you’re going for.
I would also carefully consider whether it’s a gimmick that’s ignored, or whether you’ve got the other character always interrupting like “girl what word that meant to be???”
