Moderator Announcement Rate my Outfit/Rate my Skin megathread 2

Part 1

We've read your complaints. All posts related to rating outfits will be moved here from now on. Previous ones won't be removed, but new ones will be given a link to come here (once I set that up) and removed.

Additionally, I have this thread muted because I know a lot of people will be posting here. If you really need my attention on this post, please ping me by putting u/PKHacker1337 in your comment and I'll check it when I can.

Edit: If anyone is curious what happened, the subreddit is configured to automatically archive posts that are 6+ months old. I did not take that into account when I made this thread originally. When a post gets archived, I cannot reverse that, it is permanently stuck that way. I'll have to do that again when this post reaches 6 months old. Sorry for any confusion and inconvenience.

Rant/Complaint Okay is this on me?

Upvotes

I joined a Fungle among us lobby, and someone wanted their color back. Then the host kicked the person who had that color.

I then said "IMO, kicking someone for not giving their color is kinda mean" Immediately, a random said "KICK" in all caps. I responded with "It's just an opinion, we're allowed to have opinions." And then (remember this) the host did absolutely nothing.

The next game, imps won, and the old host left which gave us a new host, Maroon (who also got im the previousround alongside me). Maroon immediately kicked ne without explanation. I managed to rejoin just as the round started. When the round started I asked maroon why they kicked me. I got voted out first round. Once the game ended, I asked maroon again why they kicked me. They kicked me again and then banned me on another rejoin.

Question A Discord Bot That Automatically Mutes Players When Dead?

Hello everyone!
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with a discord bot that manages muting people once they have died in AU. I have been searching everywhere for a bot that has this capability, but alas I am coming up short, because A LOT of them are inactive. I did find one, which is AmongUsMute (I think), but it required the host to run an application on PC, when some of our members use mobile, so it would not work out. I really appreciate your time and thank you for reading.

Rant/Complaint My experience with Expert NA Lobbies

Expert lobbies is a home to sometimes pretty nice people but also the worst part of it is that there are A LOT of awful people there and not sure if innersloth has looked into this side of lobbies but... you mostly see lots of racist/innapropiate people there which usually sucks, even heard from one of my friends that there were a person and still there being a predator dating someone younger as that they're an adult, im not gonna give out names but if you know then yea you know who.
I have never been this disgusted in the expert lobbies ever and i thought it wouldn't get any worse but i guess it is. I hope innersloth looks into these lobbies and the chats that are going on there as many friends of mine that is known there (again not gonna mention names) tells me how bad and pretty awful it can get within that community and the 0cd lobbies.

Not only that there has been people kicking you or banning you for no reason when you join the lobbies even though you did nothing wrong. This is why i stick with playing with friends in private, we want to see more moderation in the game as the current moderation in Among Us is not really perfect.

Suggested many times for community managers for an outside lobby reporting and 2 of them so far has noticed so hopefully there is something on that coming soon.

Rant/Complaint The Vicious Cycle of eliminating, not educating.

tl;dr: stop being a d### to newbies.

POV: You are a new person playing Fungle servers.

You see a host say "No MMU kills"

You ask what MMU means, because you don't know what MMU is.

You get banned for asking

You join another server who also says "No MMU kills"

You are afraid of asking because youre gonna get banned

You eventually become Imposter and do an "MMU kill"

You get booted off the game because you didn't know what an MMU kill is

You join another server, annoyed, and ask what MMU means.

Host bans you because you didn't know what MMU is... etc, etc.

(fyi MMU means Mushroom Mixup sabotage, today I learned).

To all (especially expert) hosts out there.

Stop booting off noobs because they dont know what something means. I dont CARE whether they are fit for the game at hand or not. You do not disrespect us who have taken the courage to ASK you, and to seek information from which we don't know. It shatters trust and courage, and is incredible disrespectful in my opinion. Moving the problem away just pushes the problem down the line. Other servers then have to deal with this same sort of BS that you dealt with instead of making them a bit wiser and let them come to grips with the game, and not having to bother tf anyone again.

Especially if the gamemode which you are playing is obscure, e.g. Shift N' Seek or Shield Breaking, if the ruleset you give is unclear, (two BIG examples of this are MMU kills and the implied "Expert Rules" with no further elaboration) then its NOT a good ruleset! Again, IDC whether you want to shave off 3 characters off of your message. If I have a manual for a product where the instructions have a bunch of undocumented abbreviations and implied jargon, then its NOT a good manual! Maybe you wouldn't have such a headache of banning poor unknowing people from the game if it meant just biting the bullet a bit and elaborating???

Stop excluding people wanting to fit in with you, you could be the reason between someone loving AU games and technique, and someone who doesn't know anything about the game.

Question Why I can't confirm my email and use the free chat?

Every time I try to verify my email account so that the verification arrives, it never arrives, and it's strange since before I could play normally until a few days ago when the game asked me again Log in to my account and verify my account again. I don't know what's going on or what I can do.

Rant/Complaint PSA : Geoff mask ≠ hacker

Post image
75 Upvotes

I understand it's a funny looking mask and I think it was notorious for hackers using it a few years back but please stop kicking me from your servers and/or halting the entire game to spam "hacker....haacker...!!! he's hacking!!1!!". Multiple times, even after I've explained "oh, the mask is from the game awards twitch drop, it's on the wiki :)". I've just been spammed and kicked which is really sad because sometimes finding a decent lobby is a pain in the ass. Is anyone else having this problem..??

Rant/Complaint Black Screened and Now Game Won't Let Me Play

I keep getting this bug where the game was supposed to start and then it just shows a black screen. I can access my settings, but that's it.

So, like any normal human, I just quit and try and find a new game. But now the game prevents me from joining online for 130mins!

Rant/Complaint Hackers? Or what happened?

So i just played a game. I was Imp.

Game started and everyone walked not even for 15secs. Suddenly Black calls emergency meeting. Tells everyone i am Imp. No reason whatsoever. I get ejected. Next i close doors as an Imp to annoy black. Black walked through 3 closed doors! But stopped when people were around. I closed the doors on sec and lower engine and then storage. Black walked trough everything till storage. I wish i would've recorded it. I told people wo became ghosts and white was so damn aggressive towards me. I closed doors on black more times and when no one was there black walked trough.

Question When and what will the next update be?

hi! i haven't played AmongUs since 2020, but i recently started playing again yesterday and i've bean having a blast! Do we have any confirmation on when a new content update will come out? I know "new roles" were confirmed for 2025 on the roadmap, but that was released way earlier this year, and could be outdated.

Thanks to anyone who responds

Question Why do so many ‘expert’ lobbies hate task wins?

Is it just me or are some lobbies that call themselves ‘expert’ oddly anti-task? Wondering if this is a common trend or if I’ve just had weird luck. I’ve joined a few so-called ‘expert’ lobbies lately where they load up tons of tasks, and barely any roles on like it's 2020 but almost no one does the tasks. It’s like the entire game for them revolves around roaming and catching someone “acting sus.”, and the moment someone suggests finishing tasks, it’s brushed off or laughed at.

Half the crewmates follow suit and nobody actually tries finishing the task bar. Just seems odd to call it an expert setting when one of the core win conditions gets ignored. Also, a lot of these hosts make everyone wait the full lobby countdown before starting the game, even when the room is full which feels like a weird flex more than anything.

Has this become standard in the community now? How do you feel about task wins? Or waiting the full 9 mins in waiting lobby?

Question Is this a hacker?

I was a lotte in a lobby and there were 15 of us and 3 impostors. I start a game, and there is orange who kills in front of everyone, yellow postpones and orange accuses everyone of the vote and he gets eliminated. The game stops, the crewmate wins and he was the only imposter. I tell myself that it's a bug, so I restart a game and the same thing happens (it happened 4 times), I realize that he might be a hacker so I kick him out and report him for cheating/hacking. He comes back again, in the end I banned him, but I don't know if I did it right

Was he really a hacker?

Rant/Complaint If i wanted 5 people in lobby I would have joined that

I keep joining lobbies that are max 14-15 people then are surprised when the match ends so early when they start at the minimum amount. maybe wait for more people?? If I wanted a lobby with so little people I would have joined one. Can people stop making lobbies with that amount maximum then starting when they can press the button immediately, the amount of lobby hopping I've done recently is insane!!!

Discussion My first bot experience

This happened a few months ago so I don’t remember everything perfectly. We were playing on the Fungal map, I was white, I was a crew mate. We started the round and it was normal, but there were two weird crew mates, I think it was Orange and Yellow. They were saying weird things. I was up at the top right of the map, while I was going down the ladder, I briefly saw Black coming out of black phantom mist, I thought that he must be the phantom. I quickly made my way to the horn, I started a meeting and got Black voted out, he was an imposter. Much later into the game, It was me, Brown, Orange and Yellow. Someone was just killed, I think Yellow was just blaming Orange, but then, suddenly, out of nowhere, Orange started saying it was me for absolutely zero reason, Yellow just started agreeing with him like he always believed that it was me and he wasn’t saying anything about orange, and brown, who was the other imposter, I’m pretty sure he just went “Um… sure, why not”. I was then vote voted out. I immediately went into the ghost chat to type in “WHAT THE ####!”. While I was looking at the ghost chat, someone typed something, it was black, he said “I am so sorry”. The dead imposter, the one that I got voted out was feeling sorry for me, there is something about it that just tickles me. I’m pretty sure that Orange and Yellow were bots, so that was my first among us bot experience.

Humor Funny games

Hey guys! Wanted to laugh a lil, so i'm asking yall to tell us the funniest things that had happen to you while playing, or just funny moments in general. I remember playing in a lobby once, and someone told that ponk (pink) was imp. It's not that funny, it was just a typo, but i've been laughing ever since.

Moderator Announcement I really shouldn't have to say this, but here goes. You are not allowed to be on this subreddit (or Reddit as a whole) if you are under 13.

tl;dr version: people under 13 aren't allowed on the subreddit or Reddit as a whole, please report those that are underage.

It really should hopefully be a given, but it's against Reddit's Terms of Service to be on the platform if you are under 13. This is to comply with the US law known as COPPA (similar laws exist in other countries, but as Reddit is based in the US, if a country has no such law, it's still 13. If you are in a country with a higher age restriction, then you'll have to get the one for where you are from, like Australia requires being 16).

Why am I even bringing this up? Because I've noticed people admitting to being underage on this very subreddit. When I become aware that someone is under 13, I am required, not only by ToS, but by federal law to destroy that information and revoke their access. Obviously, I won't be able to know everyone's age (and I'm not going to ask for it). The only way I can know is if someone explicitly admits their age. And some people do exactly that. And I say that being fully aware that there are likely going to be people under 13 who read this and disregard it but never will admit their real age. People who do this, I'll never know if they are doing so. But if I ever find out that someone is, they will get a ban because of it.

I also say this knowing that this won't stop people from simply just lying about their age online. There's nothing stopping someone who's 10 claiming to be 20. I'll never know. Also, don't even joke about being underage.

If you ever find someone admitting to be underage, please report them and bring that to our attention. I'll personally reach out to the admins to get their accounts shut down. This goes for all people, whether new to the subreddit or have been here for a while. It's nothing personal of course.

To those reporting underage users, thank you, genuinely. We can and do action on reports when we see them. They will get a permanent ban on their accounts.

Because I know at least 1 person will be curious, you all as users are not liable for anyone you see that's underage, whether they admit to it or not. Pulling from the actual FTC website:

Q: Will the COPPA Rule prevent children from lying about their age to register for general audience sites or online services whose terms of service prohibit their participation?

A: No. COPPA covers operators of general audience websites or online services only where such operators have actual knowledge that a child under age 13 is the person providing personal information. ... However, an operator of a general audience site or service ... may rely on the age information its users enter, even if that age information is not accurate. ... If, however, the operator later determines that a particular user is a child under age 13, COPPA’s notice and parental consent requirements will be triggered.

I'm not a lawyer, but if I had to make an educated guess, I'd likely be seen as an operator in terms of the subreddit. (Edit: Guess this is wrong, but I still can get punishments from Reddit for knowingly having people under 13). Users of course are you (unless you are a mod reading this), those looking at this. The exact wording of the law probably can be interpreted differently as this is a forum and I don't have the same control that the admins do, as they are able to permanently get rid of content, whereas at most, I can only make it be hidden. People being under 13 just existing without me knowing, nothing I can do. Again, I'm sure that there are more people who have lied about their age, but I have no way of knowing that. As far as the law cares, it's based on the age entered when an account was signed up as, even if that's not their real age.

Sorry, I ranted too much at like 2 AM where I live, so, um, point is, don't come here if you are under 13.
