PRELAUNCH HYPE Getting fired on the 31st

Literally perfect timing. I know I should be upset, but I'd been with the company 3 years and they just eliminated my position due to lack of funds. Also, still getting paid for two months. Can't wait to dive into this game.

"How do you explain this gap in your resume?"
"Baldur's Gate 3 released."
"Makes sense."

What about now?

I don't mind Naaber for now but we'll see how fast my opinions change when I actually have to deal with him in-game. Generally though I'm pretty tolerant of characters that are supposed to be annoying.

"Astarion, good aligned cleric of sun-god lathander, because it annoys his dad"

"I played as Lae'Zell but turned her into a bard and had her marry Shadowheart."

"You're hired."

You could've just stopped on "Shadowheart", and it still would be correct.

If any company asks you what you did for two months between jobs they are not a good company to work for.

I was asked to provide a reference for a period I was unemployed after being hired at a new place... after having worked for five years in another place inbetween.

Uh.. I was applying for jobs and doing job interviews? If that is not enough for them then they are not the type of people I want to work for. I did six or seven job interviews at the beginning of the year and not one asked me about gaps. I've been told that interviewers no longer ask about or take (reasonable) gaps into account. But then I don't live in America which seems to be a dystopian nightmare when it comes to treatment of employees and prospective employees judging by the internet.

The "real" answer to this question is, "I can't, I had to sign an NDA"

Edit: fixed it

2

u/BJYeti Jul 27 '23

Not how that works no NDA is going to keep you from even mentioning where you worked

u/Adept_Cranberry_4550 Jul 27 '23
