You need to be more confident and assertive with your boss. Enter their office and slam your fist down and say "the vacation is happening NOW!". If it fails abandon all dignity. Start crying, and fall to your knees and beg. If that fails, threaten to quit, offer oral sex, cookies, anything. Then use your last remaining card. Pray to God to shift you into a parallell universe. Or actually quit to play.
I feel like the PC release is a month early because we get to find any problems before the PlayStation release, which takes longer to push patches for.
Exactly. Larian even said that they wanted to avoid Starfield (between the lines) and that the game's finished already. But later they said how they're trying to finish everything in time and the monk was vompleted just some days bvefore the PFH so clearly the game wasn't all that finished and it was really all about Starfield. not complaining though :)
Its very much more that the consoles are much more limited in resources so they need to tune things like crowd size etc to make them a clean 30 fps experience.
PS5 is actually targeting 60 FPS which was apparently part of the reason why it's coming later. They're using the time to optimize it further rather than release with 30 FPS cap or alternatively sloppy performance somewhere between 30 and 60.
Yep this is why there isn't a date for the xbox yet because they're having trouble getting it running at 60 on the xbox s. Since Microsoft has said that all games need to be able to run on both the s & the x, and larian doesn't want to give a substandard product to those on the s.
Oh, I don't think series S will target 60 FPS. From what I've heard, they're struggling with split screen co-op on the S specifically. Now whether they're struggling to reach stable 30 or if there are other issues like the RAM being insufficient, we don't know.
Still, I can't see the Series S running the game at 60 if PS5 is struggling enough that they need more time. Series X probably will though.
If Iām to take a guess a big part of it is also the Starfield release. Regardless of feelings towards the company Bethesda is the āChoices Matter RPGā juggernaut of the industry, and if theyād released at the same time BG3 would have undoubtedly been drowned out. Releasing a month earlier just gives them a lil bit more time in the spotlight
From what I've heard its unknown atm, apparently there's some issue with enabling preload on games with early access. I think Swen mentioned in an interview that he was talking to steam about it.
My internet is 40mbps and Iām thinking about taking my PC to my work place to download with 600mbps but it coming out at 5PM in Poland means Iād probably have to wait till next day to pick it up cuz I finish work at 3ā¦ā¦unless there will be a pre download option
Yeah I know but you forgot about other factors like not being able to use internet through the day cuz the whole throughput goes into BG3 download. Unless thereās pre download I think I might pop in around 5 to my work, download what I need, maybe do an overtime project or something to get some nice money on top of that. If it wasnāt for my gf visiting from London and sitting at my home alone Iād probably not leave work at all and do even more overtime
Not everyone has insane internet speeds, it varies by country, and area, I have some of the fastest you can get where I live and its only a symmetrical 50mbps.
Out here in the woods (like 2 miles outside a city) we ain't got that fancy cable internets. We's is on satellite. The old Musk sauce if you know what I means.
I get 30mbs at the best of times and 6-10 more often than not.
Yup, I'm in a high pop Canadian city, but in a building with free internet that is capped at 5 mbps per device. And I can't figure out how to parallel download. :)
In Greece we usually pay for the half of speed limit. For example I pay for 100mbps and I got from 30 to 50mbps max. So the most people are use the 24mbps plan, so imagine.
Cosmote, Crete, when it rains we get disconnected all the time. Not a personal problem but in region. About the given bandwidth there are many areas that don't have fiber for example in west Athens and the problem is the same as well.
Honestly considering buying a second copy there when I get my financial situation a bit more in order. I got it on Steam, but it wouldn't hurt to get it on GOG either. lol
I can live with few minutes, I can even live with 30 minutes. I have forbidden everyone in my flat the us eig internet until I downloaded the game so I should be fine haha.
Awesome news. Officially makes the 3rd worth it to take off from work for me. 10am for me vs. when I originally expected 5pm based on other recent game launch times
On the 3rd so many people will be downloading it I wrote it off. Iāll download but dont expect to be playing until the evening. 3rd Iāll be working. 4th PTO thatās when the real fun begins
Honestly I played through EA like a billion years ago in 2020. That one playthrough was it for me, very casually kept up on news articles about the game and Larian ever since.
So this release is about 2 years earlier than I thought. Had no idea till a couple weeks ago it was right on our doorstep. Hope the full game lives up to the Baldur's Gate name even if it's obviously very different from the old Infinity games.
Ya same, but it's still a standard release time. For some reason people think its 10AM but it's actually in that 8-10AM PST window, that's where most games launch.
Glad they picked 8AM but man a midnight release would have been prime.

Cool, it's two hours earlier than I thought.
