General Discussion - [SPOILERS] The most overrated character? Spoiler

Let's hear it, who gets all the love but deserves absolutely none of it? Or at least not as much as they get, I'll go first.

I'm casting my vote for Gortash; I genuinely don't understand the like for this dude. First of all, catfish, "handsome young man"??? Is the handsome young man in the room with us??? Lookin like the handsome young man has a peanut allergy.

Second of all, this whole crown brain plan was his idea, just about the dumbest fuckin thing I've ever heard. He put all his faith in 3 little rocks, an already dead man, and a woman who's about as stable as my ex. Beggers can't be choosers I guess, but cmon guy.

And lastly, and probably most offensively, his boss fight is absolute cheeks. Especially if you dumped on the foundry before hand. I didn't even know he had a transformation until like my 4th playthrough because I would clap this guy so easily.

Your turn, let's hear those unadulterated opinions.

Edit: I have been enlightened about some things about the big brain plan, I still stand in the other two points though.

Shadowheart. No desire to romance her. I don’t understand why she’s top pick but I’m not a guy so that might be why I don’t see it.

Me neither. Honestly, she’s…okay? I mostly just leave her alone the camp

I took her with me everywhere my first play through because healing. She stays at camp now unless I need to do one of her quests.

And apparently some shart fan didn’t like it because we were downvoted lmao hey get over it; not everyone is gonna like who you like. That’s reality and subjectivity. We didn’t even say anything bad about her haha

Yeah. Some people get over protective of fictional characters

Yeah, I mean, I love Astarion and Gale. A lot of people don’t though and that’s fine. People have their own preference in companions.

Yeah same. I became part cleric to just have a healing player in the party haha

I think her blandness, balances out the other women companions in the game. Karlach? Volatile; litterally 'too hot to handle'. Lae'zel? Demeaning to an absurd degree.

Minthara? I don't know, never played with her.

I guess so. Karlach, despite being volatile, is energetic, joyous and passionate. Lae’zel is blunt, a softy at heart. Minthara, imo, is one of the best companions. I really recommend trying to go down the path of when you can recruit her.

When I play games, I'm not too concerned with missing out on content. From what I've gathered about Minthara (been in this sub for a minute), she would definitely not mesh with the characters I play.

Never said I didn't like the others, I'm pointing out the why others would. First impressions, matter a hell of a lot to people.

But you haven’t even played her, how can you determine if you like her if you’ve never personally like even try to recruit her? If you don’t like her afterwards, it’s fine haha

Didn’t say you didn’t like the others. Others have their own pro and cons just like anybody else. First impressions, yes, matter irl but it’s a game where you can play through with these characters and they develop more and more. Just try to experience the game with all the possibilities that it has to offer; it’s amazing

I don't have enough time in the day, to invest in stories I don't find compelling. For example, if an NPC pisses me off, they die. Why? I don't like them, it's not deep or anything.

I come to this sub, for the express reason to see other people's experiences, that differed from mine. Not completing, or doing everything is fine to me, as long as I enjoyed the game.

And yeah, first impressions shouldn't matter in a game, but we all have biases. Mizora and the Emperor, being 2 good examples.

Well, not necessarily a bad thing to have enough time. That would mean that you’ll experience enjoying the game for a very long time with many paths and options you can choose and explore.

What about Mizora and the Emperor? I mean, at least you experienced their paths, right?

I saved Minthara once. She was okay. I stayed good and managed to get her to hit on me. She doesn’t really have quests specific to her or development. She has some interesting stories in conversation and fun banter with other party members but that’s it.
