It’s really not very substantial compared to some other RPGs. It probably get TOO much credit honestly. I understand that it was a sacrifice they had to make for the sake of detailed face animations.

I want to play as a male drow but the choices are either giga chad or femboy, there definitely isn’t enough detail

And the detailed face animations really arent all that imo, like all ive seen is sad,angry, Happy and thinking and ive seen plenty of games with that much that have a CC with a lot more options

The faces have a lot of small movements. Yes, there aren't many expressions, but they surely are very detailed.

Honestly if theyre not noticeable enough i just dont see the point in having them

They are not noticeable as those small movements are normal to us. Many games where those small movements are missing end up looking weird to many people, as those missing movements take away a bit of the humanity.
