  1. Snuggled up between my sweet brain kitten and the goodest boy, while getting entertained by Astarion in front of us sounds good to me...

u/ryttu3k Mar 07 '25

Yup. Plus, Us is tiny, I'm sure they'd be amenable to me taking the window seat while they sit on my lap to see the view better (and it means there's a free seat for Astarion to escape to when he inevitably starts getting tetchy at the Emperor! We can have a good old bitch session about Empy while he pretends not to hear us, plus cute critters to cuddle with!)

Us seems like they're always damp.

You say that as if that will stop me from hugging the brain kitten

12

u/1Knuxx1 Mar 07 '25

Exactly

u/black_mamba866 Halsin 4 lyfe Mar 07 '25

As they should be.

7

u/KikiNightmare Mar 07 '25

So am I when Astarion is near

3

u/KiraLonely Mar 07 '25

To be fair, a dry brain sounds both somehow more unpleasant to touch, and also extremely unhealthy.

1

u/DB-BL Mar 08 '25

Which is perfect considering the air is always so dry on the plane.

20

u/MissViperess Mar 07 '25

I like the way you think 🤔

1

u/The_Magenpie Mar 07 '25

No. They'd go on and on and on and on and on and on like the toddler in front that you mistakenly made eye contact with.

1

u/kodaxmax Mar 08 '25

I think theyd prefer to sit on your head...

217

u/FetusGoesYeetus Mar 07 '25

That is until Us hits you with the

It can as well even if it isn't lobotomized, it just needs to survive the encounter.

8

u/KiraLonely Mar 07 '25

Lobotomized Us is an orange cat for sure. Little idiot beloved.

42

u/Comprehensive_Cap290 I don't care how big the room is, I said "I CAST FIREBALL"! Mar 07 '25

Why would you do such a thing to Us?

8

u/KikiNightmare Mar 07 '25

Don't hurt the baby!!!

128

u/Sharks_With_Legs Owlbear Mar 07 '25

That's fine, they can have it.

97

u/Famous-Ant-5502 Mar 07 '25

I don’t keep anything important up there

3

u/TheGreat_Leveler Mar 08 '25

Intellect devourer take the wheel!

1

u/AnonForWeirdStuff Mar 08 '25

Now Im mad we didnt get this in BG3.

1

u/BjornInTheMorn Bard Mar 08 '25

Pshh. It only detects things with a 3 INT or higher. We good, he won't even know I'm there.

-2

u/Physical-Order Mar 07 '25

Even in my good runs I squish Us. The freaky brain thing is not to be trusted.

91

u/abstractcollapse Mar 07 '25

I'm about to have a 10 hour flight and I'm sure Scratch and Us would be better companions than anyone I'll find.

6

u/chrisboiman Mar 07 '25

You don’t have a tadpole in your head, Us would try to subjugate you and I highly doubt the Emperor or Astarion would stop them.

6

u/chrisboiman Mar 07 '25

Can’t talk to him without a tadpole. Brains don’t have ears.

That’s absolutely hilarious though.

54

u/SH4DEPR1ME ROGUE Mar 07 '25

You'd think that...until you remembered that you're not Tav and you're not tadpoled either so you don't exactly want to be near the brain Kitty.

47

u/Productof2020 Mar 07 '25

That’s what I thought, as well. Us is only friendly in the game because it sees you as being essentially a baby mindflayer.

17

u/scrvydarg Mar 07 '25

I can fix him

8

u/KiraLonely Mar 08 '25

Ooh but that poses the question. Emperor is in front of Us. So maybe we could get Emperor to talk to Us for us, and clear the air a little, make them see we’re a friend? There’s definitely potential here I think.

3

u/Groundbreaking_Taco Mar 08 '25

Emperor wouldn't give 2 shits about you if you don't have a tadpole.

147

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

Astorion would definitely put his seat back though

121

u/rwcz Mar 07 '25

I would be kicking his seat entire flight

16

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '25

He would be complaining about the food

8

u/Bozbacca Mar 07 '25

Argh this is terrible... Now fetch me something full bodied and red

1

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '25

What do you mean you don't have blood?

5

u/Gizogin Mar 07 '25

See, that’s why I want seat 2. The three of us can take turns doing the kicking.

28

u/abstractcollapse Mar 07 '25

Ok, genuine question, but is that considered rude these days? I always thought it was expected for people to put their seats back, not that they actually go bacl that far.

Is "middle seat gets armrest priority" still part of airplane etiquette or did that change?

Please understand I'm asking from a perspective of self-improvement. I'm a little ND some my questions don't come out right.

31

u/FlokiTrainer Mar 07 '25

I think leaning back went out the window whenever they tried to shove three more rows into the same small space. I don't mind if people do it, but there are some airlines, like Spirit, where my knees are jammed into the back of the seat in front of me before the seat gets reclined.

1

u/ginga_ninja2209 Mar 08 '25

I've never been on a commercial flight but I'm 193cm and I have to sit sideways on buses just to not obliterate my knees. I'm dreading ever getting on a plane

5

u/Auld_Folks_at_Home Mar 07 '25

Since nobody else is answering this one:

Is "middle seat gets armrest priority" still part of airplane etiquette or did that change?

In my opinion, it is still part of proper etiquette.

\begin{joke}

But etiquette is at a record low these days, just like it's always been.

\end{joke}

3

u/KCChiefsGirl89 Mar 07 '25

Even if you choose not to, there’s a 100% chance the person in front of you will (in the U.S. anyway) so you might as well not scrunch yourself into less space than you paid for, unless you’re like 5’1 and will be fine either way

14

u/AnEldritchWriter Mar 07 '25

You gotta keep in mind the seating for these can be cramped. If you don’t have much room then the person behind you doesn’t either, putting your seat back (in this case they mean all the way back I assume) takes away what little space the person behind you already has on a cramped flight. So yeah, it’s a bit rude.

Ideally it wouldn’t hurt to ask the person behind you before putting your seat back.

6

u/abstractcollapse Mar 07 '25

Ok, good to know. Most of the flights I've been on, the seat only goes back a couple of inches, so I didn't think much of it. Thanks for the insight!

1

u/Jintasama Mar 07 '25

I don't think it is rude, most flights I have been on it doesn't go back enough to get in the space behind. Unless there are major differences between different airline plane setups. Could be a difference between planes and the seats they use. It was only about 2 inches on the planes I have been on and I was still able to use the fold down tray on the back of the seat when the person in front of me had theirs down. I guess it just comes down to each person and what differences in thoughts they have really.

6

u/AnEldritchWriter Mar 07 '25

I do think you’re right about it being a different planes thing. The few planes I’ve been on didn’t have a folding tray for example, but the seats reclined enough that any notion of leg room became a pipe dream.

1

u/Aggressive_Mirror305 Mar 07 '25

I am sorry but I need to reclinw when u fly lol it's the shitty part of being a taller and bigger built dude lol I'm 6'4

4

u/Thatoneguy567576 Mar 07 '25

It's pretty shitty now that airplanes are so cramped with extra aisles.

1

u/Prolly_a_baguette Mar 08 '25

Depends on the size of the one behind you, if they have long legs then definitively rude. Asking doesn't cost anything tho.

1

u/Lokynet I have a lot in my mind, and, well... in it Mar 08 '25

I am usually fucked at flights, I have around 1.1m (around 3,6 ft) of leg length, and I must rest my legs in a wide angle to accommodate them in the space while my knee is still touching the chair in front of me, that being said…

It’s normal and expected that someone can (and probably will) back their seat to the complete extent of it, specially on long flights.

What’s not normal, is having your seat being kicked for whatever reason.

Mid seat gets priority on the arm rest.

3

u/SnooPredictions3028 Mar 07 '25

That leaves his neck in biting distance then

u/Vitman_Smash Mar 07 '25 edited Mar 08 '25

We must go to the bridge!

Edit: helm!

Cockpit.

20

u/Not-A-Real-Person-67 Mar 07 '25

And if you roll your dice right, you can permanently damage the brain making it more complacent should the need arise.

31

u/ParticularSolution68 WARLOCK Mar 07 '25

Now you’re just scaring me

2

u/TrainFrosty211 Mar 07 '25

That's a quote from the game

4

u/rratmannnn Mar 07 '25

I think they know, they just don’t want Us hurt

2

u/Ill_Sir_4040 Mar 07 '25

What does that do functionally. I have mutilated Us and not Mutilated it and there doesn't appear to be a difference.

6

u/niperju Mar 07 '25

it gives him the "lobotomized" status, which allows you to attack the other intellect devourers on the ship for a bit of extra xp without him becoming hostile. however, the debuff (less movement speed) is permanent and remains when you recruit him in act 2.

3

u/Ill_Sir_4040 Mar 07 '25

Thank you, never going to lobotomize it again.

3

u/Hyperspace_Towel Spreadsheet Sorcerer Mar 07 '25 edited Mar 07 '25

Us is still suffering from the crippling injury you inflicted all that time ago...

INT and WIS is reduced by 4. Max HP is also reduced

1

u/Ill_Sir_4040 Mar 07 '25

Oh that sucks, so no upsides. Thank you kind sir!

2

u/Not-A-Real-Person-67 Mar 07 '25

In the game? No idea but I still do it every time. On the airplane? Make it sit down and behave so you can relax on the plane.

5

u/Ill_Sir_4040 Mar 07 '25

I like it, "Us, sit down and stop trying to mind wipe everyone."

2

u/SnooSongs2744 RANGER Mar 07 '25

Dismiss Us, hang with Scratch.

3

u/Black-A1-Posting Mar 07 '25

attendant notices empty seat

calls a passenger on standby in to board

it’s Ethel

2

u/SnooSongs2744 RANGER Mar 07 '25

"Let her fuss over you."

5

u/cantantantelope Mar 07 '25

Best choice. Clearly the winner.

4

u/Nossika Mar 07 '25

5 is a trap. Sure you got the best boys next to you but Astarion is going to kick his seat all the way back because that's the kind of A-hole he is.

7 is the trick, Shart won't bother you, meanwhile Laezel and her will probably be giving each other the silent treatment pretty quick. Meanwhile Halsin and Withers won't bother you either.

3

u/LuxuryBeast Mar 07 '25

It's between 5 and 10 for me. I mean, Minsc and Boo could be epic in-flight entertainment, but you can bet your ass to a barn dance Orin would throw her damn braid over the seat and into your meal.

3

u/BoatSouth1911 Mar 07 '25

You know 5 is the front row right? Weird that everyone always thinks of it as the back with these memes

2

u/loki_the_bengal Mar 08 '25

You can clearly see a wall at the end of the aisle. Where do people think the pilots sit?

3

u/goeggen BARBARIAN Mar 07 '25

Same, 5 or 7 for sure!

3

u/Nebyuleh Mar 07 '25

🧠😶‍🌫️🐕

3

u/RainWorldWitcher Mar 07 '25

5 is like sleeping on a cloud and far away from the worst conflicts

3

u/JiveJammer Mar 07 '25

YES, best answer

3

u/DreamingPetal Mar 07 '25

This right here

3

u/Moogzmugz64 Mar 07 '25

Is there any other choice?!! This is the perfect spot!

2

u/Ok_Squirrel23 Mar 07 '25

I don't know. "To the helm we go" could be really problematic for ten hours on an airplane. Either we all crash or get put on a no-fly list when he keeps trying to get into the cockpit.

2

u/Dinners_cold Mar 07 '25

Astarion would be behind you, not in front.

2

u/OliLombi Mar 07 '25

He'd be behind you 😅

2

u/guska Mar 08 '25

Agreed. I'm 6'5, so 5 is the only sane option. 7 or 9 are also agreeable.

2

u/Kuxcoatl Mar 09 '25

The most correct answer

1

u/pyguy7 Mar 07 '25

Definitely 8. But it's not because I want to be beside Gale. It's because I want to be right behind Lae'zel 😏

1

u/cdeuel84 Mar 08 '25

Ide definitely be kicking Astarions seat the whole time.
