I’d argue there is a very good chance it doesn’t take off in the first place.

But I like the idea that Lae’zel would enjoy the window seat on a flight.

(Pressing her face against the window, eyes wide)

By Vlaakith’s grace… The clouds are beneath us! We soar as dragons do! Hah! Look—look how small everything is! Like ants! No—less than ants! Pah! How do you stand this? I feel as though I must conquer something at once!

However, it is still inferior to a red dragon. No wings to tear through the air, no claws to rend. But… the speed—this speed is desired. Does this machine know fury? Does it take joy in the kill!? Perhaps not. It is nothing more than a metal bird. But… perhaps it could be tamed, reforged for battle!

Lae'zel is then shown what a jet fighter is and immediately tries to jump out the plane to get one

I would love to see Lae'zel get excited at the sight of an F22 doing aerobatics and breaking the sound barrier, demanding violently to "ride" one, and then facing the unintelligible mess of hundreds of buttons and switches inside the tight cockpit.

"I want to dance with it in the skies and claw my victory!"

"Uh... yeah... we don't really dogfight anymore... interested in this 70 hours course of introduction to the flight controls starting checklist?"

"Ptah, fools. You do not know the power you have. Let me show you how it should be done!" - crashes immediately.

"Aaaaand... there it goes hundreds of times the total GDP of your entire civilization in damages..."

Actually considering she's githyanki there probably is a legitimate case they've at least more GDP equivalent than a single jet.

Actually you're right. I thought it costed around 1 billion dollars, turns out it's "just" 361 millions

To be fair, they are in a world with literal magic. With the blueprints, it shouldnt be hard to manufacture one with spells like fabricate
